i'm a big believer in astrology.. but, i have mars/venus conjunct at 0.25 with my brother. i have no feelings toward him of that nature, and barely even get along with him. if mars/venus (and other romantic/sexual aspects like venus-chiron and venus-pluto) are so important in relationships, then how come they don't manifest themselves inbetween relatives? if this makes sense. if these energies are so strong why are we able to disengage from them when it comes to relatives?

my brother has mars in scorpio & sun in scorpio conjunct my venus in scorpio and scorpio ASC.

i get along with him a hell of a lot better than i get along with my sister (venus in aquarius squares my venus, her mars in sag squares my mars in pisces).

i "get" my brother...he and i have VERY similar personalities. his best friend even described me as the female version of my bro.

with relatives i think it definitely manifests...you must have other factors playing in to why you and your brother don't get along that well.

Well I'm sure if you were the type of person inclined to incest then they would likely manifest as sexual attraction aspects. Just the same as if you were a pedophile and your Mars was conj a 5 year old's Venus, it would likely manifest. Just the same as if you were gay (if you're straight, or vice versa), it would likely manifest. It's all about how you are inclined to view a certain type of individual. My Mars/Pluto is conj my uncle's Venus and his Mars is sq my Venus, so there's a Venus/Mars DW with an added Pluto tinge, there is no attraction. In another vein I'm not attracted to black men and no matter how many Mars/Venus etc. aspects there are there will be nothing there of interest for me.
The Mars/Venus could correlate to some kind of amped-up energy when you're around people who hold no special attraction for you. Could be good for sports, or initiating projects, generating enthusiasm, could even encourage hostility maybe even be a factor in rape; it depends on the nature of the relationship and what each person is geared towards, how they are acting out their charts.

I have Venus/Mars DW with the step bro I get along well with, my mum, my dog - and a one way Venus/Mars with my dad. It doesn't mean sexual attraction in this context. Just lots of energy. I find them all very entertaining.

It all depends I have Mars conjunct Mars with my father. We are in loose terms estranged from each other. He's a horrible person and if I do a daughter/father aspect chart everything for the most part is pretty harmonious. Him Sun Aquarius, Moon Sag, Me Sun Libra, Moon Aries. I have a strong dislike for him and he's never been fond of me even as a child. I have a twin sister and she was hands down his favorite. Any who aspects between family members just point towards the possibility of harmonious or tense energy, however you actually have to try to allow that energy to flow, meaning make an effort. My father was always unfriendly to me so he blocked that connection. But my mother's an Aries Sun, Sag Moon and were great friends.
