The thing with adoptions is, people tend to inherit astrological traits from their BIOLOGICAL parents, just like physical traits.

Not from their adoptive ones.

So if you're expecting to find similar astrological aspects and things between adoptive parents and a child, more often than not, you won't, and the ones you do find will probably be coincidental aspects that are common in most of the population at large, like sun conjunct mercury.

I inherited my Cancer Mars from my dad; he has a Cancer sun; my mom was an Aquarius sun, Aries ascendant with sun trine neptune, moon-pluto, mars-pluto and venus-neptune. I'm an Aquarius rising with sun trine neptune, moon-pluto, mars-pluto, and venus-neptune. My younger sister is an Aquarius Moon with moon-pluto. My brother is an aries rising just like my mom was.

My mother, father, and brother each have significant fixed signs and one singleton in their personal (inner) planets.

I have NO fixed signs whatsoever in my personal planets, but two significant singleton fixed signs in my generational (outer) planets.

We do all share a few common traits - not necessarily signs but chart patterns.

Conjunctions
Father: Aries Sun conj Moon

Brother: Sag Merc conj Venus
Me: Gemini Merc conj Venus

My mother and brother get along - or at least respect each other at maximum... My mother gets too emotional while my brother is just very brutally honest (Ex. "Stop yelling at me Mom! You're just mad at Dad and taking it out on me! YOU'RE BEING ANNOYING."), and she respects it... surprisingly... I'm always tactful with her and she tries to manipulate me every single time!

My father and I get along very well. He's my hero and has always taken care of me - especially when I'm sick. His Sun conj Moon is in my 6th house. During my major battles with depression and bipolar disorder, my father has always stepped in to find me the absolute best and compassionate doctors to care for me. He's a psychiatrist himself, as well. He doesn't treat me, but it's definitely Karmic that he's my caregiver in this lifetime . My father would do anything to keep me safe, and vice versa! I love my Daddy so much, lol.

My brother and I get along very well compared to a lot of siblings that I know. We're very much COMPLETE opposites, yet we compliment each other in certain ways that have taught us to tolerate each other. It's taken a lot of practice. YEARS and YEARS of practice, lol. My brothers Sagittarius-ness always brings some fun into my life (he's always getting into trouble lol) and I'm am ALWAYS taking care of the many random details in his life that he doesn't take care of... like how to do his laundry, how to write a proper resume, how to fix his computer, etc. The little things that he never really stops to learn. He's too busy working out or partying with friends.

My mother, in a strange way, has always been very emotionally and mentally absent as a mother but is also VERY OVERBEARING. She would sleep during the day and work all night (she's a nurse), so my brother and I would never see her. When she WAS around, however, she would be freaking out over any mess (She's OCD) or yelling and having a panic attack (She's also Bipolar). A lot of the time she'd be depressed and unable to cope with anything. Because of this, I've spent most of my childhood and adult life "raising" my brother. My Cancer Sun has always tried to protect my Scorpio brother's heart from all the trauma. He's seems to come out very strong and confident after everything, which I am so thankful for. I am more than ready to have my own brood of mini Purrrs now, lol. My kitty will have to do for now.

My mother and father are separated and have been trying to "amicably" divorce for 6-7 years now. My Aries Daddy just wants to get the HECK OUTTA their marriage while my Cancer Mother is CLINGING as MUCH as she can to whatever ASSETS she can get out of him. Obviously it's not going very well, lol. They've actually been together for the past 37 years or so. I think their squares added some excitement and thrills to their marriage; I'm sure they've always been very attracted to each other. But they've always just TOLERATED each other. I guess by the time they were 55/53, they finally realized that they couldn't tolerate each others faults anymore and that they still had ANOTHER 30 years together.

To get to the point, I'm the black sheep because I'm not stubborn at all. They all are. My father has a Taurus Mercury, a very practical communicator that does not get along with my very emotional mother's Cancer Mercury. My brother has Sag Merc, which just makes him unreachable, lol, and his Scorpio Sun ain't trying to be found ANYTIME soon. My Gemini Mercury spends A LOT of time delegating between each party, trying to explain what the other is thinking and why they think the way they do.

NONE of our Moons are compatible, but my Libra Moon at least tries to play fair between everyone. Again, more delegation on my part to keep PEACE amongst us all.

My mother and I both have Pluto in the 8th, I have Moon conjunct Pluto and my brother has Pluto partile conjunct the IC and my sister has Pluto conjunct the MC. That is the only thing that stands out to me. That is the first time I noticed that actually. We are intense, lol…

Seriously though, we have all gone through some major transformations. A real rags to normal story. Actually, not so much my sister yet, she only 20. She is lucky, she didn’t go through the dirt poor years my mom, brother and I had to go through – she got to live the good life. I get mad when I hear her whine about how hard she had/has it, like when her concert seats sucked at age 14 (although she got to touch Jared Leto) and when they banned Blackberry use in her high school

Also my sister has Saturn conjunct the AC, while my mom a Cap w/Cap rising and Saturn in the 1st widely conjunct the AC. They are really close and they have so much in common. Actually, it looks like my sister was made to get along with all of us. We both have Aqua rising and she has Ven/Mars in Cancer and my bro is a Cancer Sun. That Aqua rising isn’t quite enough to do it though, we have a love/hate relationship but it is mostly hilarious. My brother and I are really close though.

My brother and I were there during the tough years. He has a developmental disability (on the autism spectrum) and that has really bonded our family, especially me and my brother because he is just 3 years younger. Interestingly, my Chiron is in the 3rd house and my sister’s is in Cancer, my brother’s Sun sign, and my brother has Chiron in the 10th. He has really “transformed” too, I get emotional thinking about his growth, it is unbelievable.

As you can see, I stick out like a sore thumb, with my Fire and Air while everyone else has some but are mainly Earth/Water people. I am definitely the happiest one of the bunch.
