I have heard that the 5th house can indicate how many children you might have..as well as their gender, temperment, etc...

have you moms out there found this to be true? i believe my mom's 5th house is Scorpio and she has her Neptune there. she gave birth to 3 children, two who have Scorpio..one is Scorpio ASC/Venus (me) the other is Scorpio Sun/Mars (my brother). I have Neptune conjunct my Sun and all three of us children have Neptunian qualities and issues to deal with.

my own 5th house is Pisces, with my JUPITER and MARS there...so i'm guessing that means, if i ever decided to have children, i would most likely have a lot of boys? what do you think?

From what I have read you have to look at the aspects from your H5 ruler, and then figure in the planets in H5...
When lookin at the ruler you look for applying aspects (how many, will say how many children)
and the circumstances with of the pregnancy.
The planets would describe the children...
This is how I understand it..
Since Im done having kids... No more for me!

My H5 ruler is in Cancer (the moon)
I have no planets in H5
I have 2 applying aspects.
Moon trine Uranus
Moon sextile Saturn

H5 ruler (moon) in H6..
(conjunct sun/mercury)

I had an unexpected pregnancy at the age of 19.. A girl btw..

10 years later, when I was married, and I had planned a child, right near my Saturn return I had a boy..

Neither of my kids have any Cancer placements.
Both are Taurus with Virgo moons.
(my h5 ruler, in the virgo ruler house IDK..
maybe where the virgo moon comes from..)

Im done having kids.. No more for me...

What are the odds of that, both of your kids are Taurus and both have moon in Virgo yet they were conceived many many years apart by different dads. Why do you think both of your kids are same sun and moon sign? Do you think you have karma in reference to Taurus and Virgo, like you need to learn from these two signs? What is your take in this?

Hmm.. I'm not a mom.. I would never want kids though. They're a huge responsibility, and they cost A LOT! I'm good with kids though, that is if they go back to their mothers once I get sick of them. (only kiddin'... kind of)

My 5th ruler is Uranus in Sag.

Aspects:

Uranus conj Sun
Uranus sextile Mars
Uranus sextile AC
Uranus quincunx MC
Uranus sextile Jupiter (mutual reception)

^ Hopefully this doesn't mean I'll pop out a bunch of Aquas. Their detachment would probably kill me. ;P

I never did buy the fifth house children theory.
I have nothing there and I've given birth four times.
I have three living children who I raised, so
IDK about that theory!

I've been pregnant six times, so, technically there would have to be six aspects, and there is not.

I wouldn't predict gender off of that, but if you were to have children, whether natural or by adoption, you'd be a rather permissive parent (just based on h5, moon also comes into play here and h4), generous, v.keen to open them up to the world around them, making sure they are exposed to different philosophies, you'd be insistent on providing them with opportunities to let their imaginations run wild, you'd emphasize higher education for mind expansion alone just for the fun of it. Prob be the type of parent to turn any common occurrence into a learning experience so that you don't waste a minute. You'd likely idealize them quite a lot as well, which may lead them to see you as a pushover and someone easy to lie to. You'd also be keen on establishing a psychic connection with them and having that connection continue until the day you die, you would need them to be able to read your moods and you would be a sensitive mother, a bit weepy maybe, but v.much in tune with them, if the psychic connection were broken it'd prob feel like a heartbreak. It could be that the experience of having kids opens the door wider to religious or spiritual soul searching for you. They'd be adventurers I would think with Jupiter + Mars there, artistic. You'd want to share the Pisces side of yourself with them, so you may be keen to take them to religious svcs, or volunteer together, or do yoga together, or play music together, etc. that would be the common tie with all your kids since that is the sign in the 5th, that's how you're gonna wanna bond with them and that is also going to be your approach to raising them. So I think maybe partner up with someone who is not too stern since Pisces there is going to want a peaceful existence, and with Jupiter it's going to be a live-and-let-live attitude, Jupiter and Pisces are both easy going, but Mars and Jupiter can be restless. Get someone who is good with tuning into kids on an emotional level, or a sporty person or an educator, since those would jive with your parenting style. To have parenting styles clash is the worst.

Lonake thank you for that in-depth analysis! I am still unsure about having kids but lately my biological clock is ticking...

I think you are very correct in how you think I would raise my kids, based on my 5th house. I would definitely encourage them to expand their minds and experiences in every way..be very encouraging and I'm sure they would get that adventurousness and artistic side from me makes total sense

I actually think that's an interesting observation. My father is an Aqua and my mother is an Aries. I have Aquarius Rising and Moon in Aries. I've got pieces of both of them in me. I also have a twin with the exact same placements. I think astrological patterns within families might be related to the journey each of the souls is on. I guess they could be considered lessons, but people who are heading on similar yet different paths who need assistance from each other in order to continue on the path of evolution. My family is Air/Fire dominant, heavy on the Fire and tempers. I grew up to yelling that's how it went in our household. Meaning I'm built for intense confrontations, even though I'm a very intense yet peaceful Libra.

I have Cancer on the Cusp of my 5th. Besides Chiron it's empty and it only aspects my Pluto and North Node. This time around reproducing biologically isn't in the cards for me, but I'm not against taking in lost souls.

My dad has the 5th cusp in pisces and yes he is laid back and my mom was the overprotective strict one (cap in the 5th cusp) LOL. I have moon in pisces and several neptune aspects which could be connected to dad having cusp 5th in pisces. Also dad has virgo in moon and I am a virgo and both dad and mom are capricorns and my sun is in the 10th house. In addition my mom was a workaholic and my dad almost didn't marry her bc of this but did none the less and has been a great husband and supportive of her career choices throughout the marriage, he just would like it if she would come home earlier from work. Guess what? I have sun in the 10th and moon in the 4th opposing each other. Since I was little I knew I wanted to achieve the balance of home and career that my mom had difficulty achieving. I also like for my partner to achieve this balance as well. We are definitely connected to our parents and shows in our chart. It seems that karma they have can be passed down to the child (sun in 10th opposing moon in 4th). Crazy huh?!

Just curious....have you checked if you have virgo in any of the following: Northnode, Saturn, Karma, Tyche, Fortuna, Destinn or vertex?

Lioness,

You have karma in Libra so I am thinking you are here to learn about one on one relationships and interactions, the balance of give and take, compromise and how to be fair in one on one relationships. The vertex/universe brought to your path two kids whose sun fall under your 7th house so perhaps your kids are going to be a great influence in helping you grow in this area and in forcing you to practice these skills which you are here to hone. The fact that virgo is in ceres is just a nice plus bc it gives you the ability to nurture them how they need it. I would think pyche in virgo would confirm that your kids and you are soulmates. That is pretty cool!

Yes I get the sense I am here to learn about relationships.. I also have Uranus/Pluto in H7.

Ohh I Love the idea of transforming via one on one relationships. Nice placement you got there uranus/pluto in the 7th.

My fifth house is in Virgo. And the ruler of my fifth house is Mercury.

I don't have kids yet and probably wont have that many because of my assumption that kids are a huge responsibility that I am just not ready for(this could be prudent Virgo /5th house speaking)

Did I mention that my Mercury is in Capricorn? And what is often said about Capricorn energy is that it takes personal responsibilities very seriously. And what could be more personal than your own living/breathing offspring running around?

Both, every couple I have looked at the parent's h5 corresponds to the child. In different ways, of course. Mercury in the 5th could correspond to a child having Sun in the 3rd from a dad's chart, could correspond to the child having Moon in Gemini from the mom's chart. It varies. Libra on the 5th, a child with a heavily aspected Venus, which would increase that planet's strength in the natal or have it angular, for another example.
