Does a composite chart and it's karmic implications come in force if two people are just acquainted or do they need to become romantically involved for the karmic aspects to even have meaning?

Specifically, I'm talking about the implications of composite Pluto in 10th.

Here's a descrition of it from Steven & Jodie Forrest's "Skymates II" book:
"At soul level, these two signed a contract together, they are going to bring something shocking and umcomfortable to the attention of their community. If they get it right, they'll make a difference in this world. They'll bring something to light that needs to be seen. And if they get it wrong, they'll be targeted for projection-- people will gossip about them, or worse.
....Using reincarnational language, we can see that in a prior lifetime together, this couple was hurt by the worldly powers of the day. An evil king. Dark government. Fascism. Institutionalized persecution or prejudice. Perhaps they were killed; perhaps they were driven into poverty or hiding. Deep in their karmic memory banks is a fear of being seen or noticed - and this fear runs counter to their soul-intentions in this present lifetime. They simply cannot let it make decisions for them. The second point is that, this time around, they need to stand up bravely and affectively for something that will make people nervous, uncomfortable and angry. The third point is that if they don't make a positive response to the destiny's call, then they'll surely slip back into the old karmic pattern: somehow, some way, someone will decide to make them a victim - again."

I would never make an important decision based on composite results.
It's all to "in general"

What do your inner-aspects look like?
Does the Rulers of your Ascendants connect?
If so, I would stay on course.

The synastry is loaded with karmic aspects. I don't feel the Pluto is any accident either, the whole thing sounds like it can easily happen.

I'm wondering if being "friendly/acquainted" is considered a legitimate relationship that puts the composite in force... I'm hoping the composite is not actually in force until we're a couple, that would mean I can opt out of this. But I heard composites can be interpreted for any types of relationships... that's what makes me ask this...

I feel that the composite (regardless of type of relationship) spouse, co-worker, friend..etc. is in affect when you have contact with each other..
When you are not in contact with each other the composite is not in effect...
The more contact you have,the more the composite is in effect. The longer your in contact will result in the harder aspects being felt.

So you have to have some sort of relationship... Even if its platonic I believe the composite will show that.

Thank you, Lioness, I feel so relieved.

I really hope you're right about this, it makes so much sense. I'll just stop interacting with him, everything then should be fine...

If anyone thinks the composite works even if two people stop interacting (since they had a relationship before), please let me know. I feel like I should do everything I can to prevent possible disasters... I feel so responsible for this. Gah.
