I've done some research about venus in sagittarius people..and I'm just curious. Does this placement in venus make you guys love/like somebody who is different from you (culturally, personality-wise, etc.) and someone who is very care-free?

And...is it true what they say that venus in Sagittarius people often find it hard to commit to a relationship, just because their sense of freedom is sooo important to them?

And lastly, would conservative, closed-minded people turn you off? Are you guys more drawn to those who are very open-minded and with a bit of the "out-there" attitude?

Great topic, Malice. I have not had much experience with this Venus, so cannot say.

I think it just makes them love the outdoors, more 'down to earth/chill' people as opposed to high maintenance girls/guys, and they also love fun and spending time with happy go lucky people. They like to be with relaxed people. Think they would really clash with venus in scorpios and cancers.

I don't think it makes them have commitment issues. I've had 3 exs with venus in sag (and also a fire mars). They were quite frankly all alittle clingy and needy. One was SUPER needy.

They do like people different from themselves. It's like they like to learn about other places and cultures. They like to have a relationship where it's more high energy and fun, as opposed to sooo intense and possessive (I think they can be alittle full on if they're into you, BUT they aren't that possessive) which imo is a good thing.

It's quite strange too that one of my exs had uranus conjunct venus in sag lol and he was really clingy and full on and needed to be with me all the time? How does that work? Was it cos he could feel like he didn't have 100% hold over me and that I was less attached?

There was also a tendency towards discussing bigger issues (you know world issues, philosophy, history, art etc) which I actually loved. Like venus in libra, virgo, gem and aquarius... Venus in sag love mental stimulation. You have to be somewhat mentally compatible. They don't want a boring person lol.

I love venus in saggy <3 they're so bouncy.

I have had a few attractions to people who are 'different' from me, but it's never really deep or lasting, more like a curiosity. For me, and this relates to your 2nd and 3rd questions, those times were more like a conscious decision to try someone more 'conservative' as the freedom lover types who I REALLY go for, it never really worked out with. But to answer your 2nd and 3rd question, I do tend to steer clear of commitment. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my freedom and independance, so much that I could happily live alone for the rest of my life. If someone who was similarly inclined were to come along, and it worked, great, but if not, that's fine too. And I'm a Libra sun, Venus, the love planet is my ruler! I do not like conservative types, at all. They bore me to tears and I find them narrow minded.

I only want one thing from a relationship really, to laugh. If someone makes me laugh I'm putty in their hands. And if they can also 'take me or leave me' then I will chase them! But having said that, once I catch them, I could get bored.

I keep thinking of things to add, my idea of the perfect first date would be a hike, a picnic, or something outdoors and fun, nothing fancy or pretentious, an expensive dinner would actually embarrass me and make me very uncomfortable. My ideal relationship would be the two of us exploring the world and going on adventures together, camping under the stars, long road trips, all with lots of laughter thrown in Thelma and Louise style.

Well, I love learning about other cultures and people, but as far as in a serious relationships, there are certain things which I feel must be shared for it to work out. Religion for example. So... that can be tricky.
I find people of other races beautiful, but I've never be romantically involved with anyone too much different than myself, it's just the way it worked out.
I've traveled quite a bit, and even dated someone in another country, but it was not serious.

I will tell you a BIG problem for quite a few of us Venus in Sag people is that we have a habit of mistaking friendship for love.
I've done that my whole life.
If we feel a comraderie with someone,
and we can talk with them (gotta be able to talk!) and we find them attractive, we can tell ourselves that we are in love, when we really just have found a good friend.
It can be painful for both parties when we figure it out.

As for the serious type, that's my preference.
I beleive that opposites attract, just my opinion. I like complicated, dark sort of people, Winter people.. Scorps, Caps and Pisces.. so go figure.

And finally, Biggest problem in my romantic history is people smothering me.
Last r/ship ended over the fact that he paid my phone bill and felt that b/c of that he could text me every hour and I should text back immediately and for however long he wanted.
I don't like to feel owned.
I don't like reporting to anyone.
I don't like expectations.
9 times out of 10 I would of done what (you) wanted me to do, if given the chance, but once I know that it's "expected" the hackles go up, and then the problems begin.

And that's Venus in Sag. lol.

I had someone do the phone thing with me too, he had his Venus in the ever helpful Virgo. I then felt obligated which took a bit of the magic away.

I have venus Sagittarius. This is true, attracted to people from other cultures, more than my own. They need to be care free, conservative close minded people dont interest me at all . Dont find it hard to commit , I just get bored doing the same thing, I like change , so commitment is fine as long as its still interesting, not staying in one spot for to long.

Ugh, I love Virgo suns, but in mars and venus, no no no.
The guy I was talking about had his mars in the even helpful virgo, and actually told me one morning, as he popped in UNinvited (a scorpio specialty )
that I was cracking his eggs wrong.
I think some murderous thoughts flashed through my head, but I was able to maintain.
ha ha.

I think one of the reasons my relationships don't last is not only out of boredom and routine etc, but because I can't stand people taking liberties with me and I cannot, even for one second, tolerate sulking men! My mum has a moon Sag and a venus Sag and even when I was tiny I remember her saying "there's nothing worse than sulking, surly men", and thinking, "well, yeah, that would be annoying" and I always encounter them, they play head games and hard to get and do the silent treatment! Ugh, I just want to go out and buy them a packet of nappies. Give me a real man.

Thanks for all your responses, it definitely gave me a good insight. I think the overall common theme is "getting bored"!

I'm currently seeing somebody who has the following:

Sun Scorpio
Moon Aries
Mercury Sagittarius
Venus Sagittarius
Mars Capricorn

He is not at all much scorpio-like. In fact, I have more scorpio than him!!! But sometimes I'm just alittle confused with his reactions..

For example - He doesnt hesitate to question me about all the guys who he sees sends me text messages / facebook messages. "Who's this?" "Who is that??" when he asks, his tone of voice changes and is more "stern" - I guess that comes from the scorpio-ness. If it was girls he wouldn't even ask!! He doesn't like it when I (jokingly) turn away from him while I'm texting someone so he doesn't see.

However, he has said to me once "I'm not supposed to tie you down, so when you go out, you don't have to worry about me and just have fun"

Be the truth is, whenever I mention going out and "drinking" with friends his face will change and he'll keep saying things like "oh..please don't drink too much..be careful..." (I had a case where I drank so much I was half passed-out in the bathroom)

He is conflicted!!!!! I don't know which aspect of his natal best describes him. Obviously scorpios are suppose to be intense and all that, but it conflicts with his saggy traits.

Wow.
Let's see.

They don't have to be different culturally or in personality etc. But I think I'm more capable of dealing with that than many people (possibly with other than Sag Venus). I certainly don't have a problem with that, however it's not a deciding factor.

Do I find it hard to commit to a relationship? Absolutely not. The opposite! I only really like long, meaningful ones. It's not that I don't like my freedom, just in another way (like recharging on my own rather than in company).

Finally, too conservative people, especially with narrow minds absolutely **** me off. I like philosophical, intellectual and yet, to a certain extent, practical people.

That's right, I'm rather on the clingy side a little. But I can behave.

The other things you wrote are correct, too.

Well including sun, mercury and MC, my venus is in sagittarus. First of all i bore quickly when i am in relationship. Because it never is what i expected in the beginning and i also enrich it with my imagination a little bit which leads dissapointments later .

I am really interested in people from different culture not only in "fall in love" way but also friendship, partnership etc...

My freedom is so important to me that even i keep myself away from serious friendships, because i dont want responsibility and also dont want to make them dissappointed cuz of their expectations from me.

I just want to "have fun" in relationship... Live the moment, carpe diem whateer you call it i wanna live my life with someone really KNOWS TO HOW TO LIVE. I can/want to do everything with my lover. I wanna share everything. This is really venus in sagittarus thing ->> SHARING FREEDOM.

I also want my lover to be my friend, mother, sister, partneretc.. Nothing is wrong about that. This is the really sharing thing. Some above posts whine about it but to me it is the really deal.

I am a travel freak also.

I never cheated, i am loyal but i bore quickly ->>> running away . Also because of that a few people come close to me when it comes to love, date partner because i am not really someone that people want to give their heart.

Some old astrologer says that venus in sag people must marry with venus in sag people .

i have the placement and also a Stellium in Sagi. i'm not a commitment phobe, if it feels right i'm ready to be with the person forever. ...well, i guess even when it didn't feel right, when i was younger.

i need my partner to be a best friend, comrade, sibling etc. very close, but "stifling" is a ginormous turn off...

i have only been with "foreigners" for romantic/sexual partners, but i just don't see myself as "foreign" to them... i'm who i am where i am. it's really not something i pay attention to. it's another turn off when they make a big deal out of the fact that i am a foreigner.

Wow, I guess the committment thing is not necessarily true of all you Saggy-venus people

Thanks for all your responses! It definitely gave me a better insight.

Perhaps the common theme is the ability to connect with the person on a MENTAL level (meaning the person has to be as smart as you are and willing to talk about things with you) and the ability to connect on a PHYSICAL level.

I guess with you guys it's a "love of the head and the heart" kind of situation, but definitely not with someone who's gonna be so nick-picky!!
