I have Ascendant and SN in Aquarius and I've always thought new age music is really f**king dumb.I think Aquarius would like new or unusual or mechanical, quirky sounding stuff - if they're a Uranian Aquarius. If they're Saturnian obviously they probably like something a lot more traditional - my guess is country music.

As for placements, I think Venus is important, as well as the 2nd house. Also Sun and 5th house, and how those are all integrated. Oh and Mercury.

My boyfriend is a Cancer Sun/Mercury with Venus conjunct Mars in Leo in 2nd house. He likes post rock, folk and math metal (fav acts: This Will Destroy You, Russian Circles, Ryan Adams, Conor Oberst/Bright Eyes, and Converge).

Bff has a Scorp stellium (Sun, Moon, Merc & Pluto) in 5th. She likes anything in the punk genre (pop punk, metalcore, hardcore, post hardcore, skramz) and pop/r&b and anything that has annoying beepes and whistles. Her favorites are Saves the Day, Defiance Ohio, Converge (everyone likes Converge), Mariah Carey, and New Found Glory.

i like dark music...heavy, brooding, melodic metal (no screaming/growling metal though). i also like a LOT of different styles of electronic/dance/industrial/dubstep. i listen to a lot of experimental stuff w/o lyrics, too. i also really love certain styles of reggae (bob marley - slower, more sensual reggae) and I like OLD country and bluegrass. I'd say my defining style of music is the former though - dark heavy rock.

I hate most rap. I never listen to the radio. I hate singer-songwriter crap like Jack Johnson, John Mayer, etc..I don't like Adele, or Rhianna, etc etc.

For more specific reference, my favorite bands/artists of all time are Tool, Type O Negative, Nine Inch Nails, White Zombie, Radiohead, Alice In Chains, Incubus, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Crytal Castles, Caribou, and Manu Chao. Not all of those are the same type of music (obviously lol) but those are all ones I adore. I like sad, sensual, dark, mysterious, dreamy, sounds in music..with lots of minor chords.

I have NO idea what planets or aspects speak to musical taste...my guess would be Venus and Mercury. My Venus is in Scorpio in my 1st house, trine Mars & Jupiter and square MC.

My Mercury is in Sagittarius in my 2nd house conjunct Sun, Neptune, and Uranus..and square my Mars/Jupiter.

Now, 3rd house stuff..in the whole sign system my Sun & Neptune are there. Placidus, nothing is there. But its cusp is Capricorn. 5th house cusp is Pisces w/ my Mars there. Sun in Cap, ASC in Scorp...I think my musical taste really sounds like a mix of Scorp/Pisces/Sag. Because I love dark, sad, dreamy but also funky and carefree.

New age...what is new age anyway? I bet Enya use to be considered new age...she has some good songs....dub step is kinda new right...I LOVE IT

I liked tecno when it was kinda new and still do

I like some underground rap

I like music with morbid lyrics

but I also like music that is so sweet and girly girl that would make many people puke out rainbow sugar

I like some main stream music...but half of it sux azz...I usually hate the radio.

Interestingly enough, both this song and Discovery's "Swing Tree" I discovered after watching Madd Chadd dance to them...imitating a robot. Robots, technology, gadgets...all Aquarian/Uranian stuff lol.

And I really, really don't think musical taste is linked to Mercury or the third house, either; the third is the mind, elementary education, stuff like that. Whenever I see music mentioned, it's always in connection to the planet Neptune. Obviously the house connected to the sign Pisces is the twelfth, so if we were going to debate that it could be found in *one* particular house, there's a good case for that one. Although I'm not all that sure that quite answers it either, because my 12th house is Capricorn and my music tastes are far from what would be considered Capricornian/Saturnian.

my tastes vary, i really like a lot of classical, some of beethovens darker stuff is awesome and mozarts reqiuem gets pretty intense. going to more instrumental stuff like explosions in the sky, and godspeed you! black emperor, pelican. i grew up with techno/dub steb so i enjoy it like chemical brothers and dj shadow. i do enjoy the 60's-70's also led zeppelin, iron maiden, black sabbath, older beatles, jimi hendrix, 13th floor elevator yadda yadda yadda but i mostly listen to metal,hardcore, grindcore, blah blah all the genre names associated with the sound like burnt by the sun, baroness, mastodon, the locust, daughters, skinless, behemoth, pig destroyer. its mainly that and instrumental and occasional dub step.

ima libra, but my suns conjunct mars/merc and my venus is in scorpio conjunct pluto in scorpio as well, its conjunct the descendent.

I find that most people here have really bad taste in music. They have yet to understand how great music from the Primordial realm is. There are certain true artists that get their music from the creative realm, this music is GIVEN to them. Then most of the music here is just a copy of a copy of a copy of someone elses lame earth garbage. I give humans here a few 300 years and they will catch up and understand what real music is. Guys are wayyyy behind. Ready. Set. Go! I will be waiting for you here at the finish line :-)

I'm definitely seeing a pattern here .

I don't have a drop of aquarius in me at all, but i LOVE bizzare, strange, off-kilter music. I am also a total electronic music person. I also enjoy a lot of trip-hop (think Portishead if you know them). I tend to like more broody-dark electronic music though. Anything that has very interesting sounds.

As for signs that could be indicating. I have Uranus, Neptune, and Saturn all in the 3rd house. 8th house gemini stellium. Pluto/moon conjunct in the 1st house. All of this says to me I will like heavier complex music.
