The Full Moon on 10 November 2011 is at 18º 04′ Taurus, watch out as this one is going to seduce you and steal you away! We have Moon sextile Ceres and it is on fixed star Rucha in Cassiopeia. The Moon is not conjunct any interesting asteroids but it is opposite Asteroid Europa (03’). The general astrology for this date is pretty stunning and I feel Europe may be implicated somehow. This Full Moon is a prelude to the infamous date of 11.11.11. I think these two days are worth noting in ones diary, fancy numerology or not. For this Full Moon, Mercury is in the shadow zone as I wrote in my Mercury retrograde November post, he and Venus are conjunct:

“This flirty aspect crescendos on November 10, with a dramatic romp on Antares in the heart of the Scorpion. Which “makes its natives rash, ravenous, headstrong and destructive to themselves by their own obstinacy.” [2] at the same time we have sexy Mars on roaring Regulus. Woahh there! Hot stuff. Volcanic eruptions, rash declarations of love and spur of the moment decisions. Saturn is on Spica too. This kind of energy can move mountains, literally! “

I focused on love relationships there, but it can be business too. I wrote that before I knew of the Taurus/Europa energy that would be affecting this Moon. Could there be a need for diplomacy when something explodes in Europe?, or is it simply predicting yet another eruption of Enta which has been spitting fire all year…

Although Ceres is certainly connected to Virgo, to me has also has a great resonance with Taurus and the second house. Ceres is about resources and material goods, how we feed and nurture ourselves depends on our own self worth. I found “Moon sextile Ceres needs so very much to be needed, so they make themselves indispensable by throwing money and lavishing affection on those they love. They make wonderful benefactors and want to feed the common people in any way they know how, which could be through actual food or the arts.”

Being a Full Moon means we also have Sun trine Ceres “the trine is more about lying back and gorging on their sweet, ripe fruit. The problem then is the slide of the trine into complacency and decadence, then the bigger problem is nature’s cruel way of having to balance the books. So Ceres in trine aspect can be a little too much of a good thing” Is it now time for Europe to seriously get to grips with balancing its books? It has been gorging on the butter mountain for too long. This energy is reflected in our personal lives, time to find out exactly how large (or small!) our karmic debt is.

The full Moon falls on Fixed star Rucha in Queen Cassiopeia’s knee. This Queen was so vain and boastful that she was tied to her heavenly chair and made to circle the poles head-downwards in order to learn humility. “It is said to give haughtiness, boastfulness and exaggerated pride, but at the same time the power of commanding respect.” [1] The vanity is certainly a Venus trait as is her liking for adornments:

“From Cassiope come the enhancement of beauty and devices for adorning the body: from gold has been sought the means to give grace to the appearance….. she bids men look for gold beneath the ground, uproot all which nature stealthily conceals, and turn earth upside down in search of gain; she bids them detect the treasure in lumps of ore and finally, for all its reluctance, expose it to a sky it has never seen.” [2]

Greedy European aristocrats! Makes me think of the Borgias. This star has to be careful of greediness, it warns of over-farming, pillaging the earth of it’s treasures so that there are no nutrients left in the soil

The Taurean theme continues, as we have seen in my post on Asteroid Europa this lady can be a gold-digger. The continent of Europe has helped itself to the treasures of the new world, feasted on stolen wealth and used slaves to make it even easier for them. Europeans have rather been like Jupiter in the myth. Theft disguised as civilization, promising the “savages” a fabulous Utopia, giving them “God” as if they didn’t have one already! Of course Europe in the old days was controlled by Jupiter in the form of the Holy Roman Empire, then we had the Vatican.

These days we are a secular society, Jupiter is greed and love to be idolized. Now the masses watch “Pop Idol” and devour glitzy celebrity magazines. “Hallo” magazine was such a European invention! I remember seeing the Italian equivalent “Oggi” back in the 1970′s, way before we had anything like it in the UK. Europa shows how easily we fall for seduction, beauty, glitter and glamour, how we have become couch potatoes and the “something for nothing” society. Just like those reality TV shows promise instant fame, nobody expects to graft or craft anymore.

The celestial tarot makes this card Aquila in the Eagle, Venus in Capricorn. Earthy, materialistic and ambitious this card supports the European sensibility. Of course the Eagle was very symbolic both for the Roman Empire and for the Nazi’s who also used the symbol in their military regalia. As for the European Union, we’ll they wouldn’t dare use such an aggressive symbol would they? It’s all sugar-coated with Venus charm now isn’t it?

The Eurozone isn’t an Empire, noooo, it’s a very hippie sounding commune-ity. This card again speaks of thieving pretty things! Aquila was Zeus’s eagle that abducted the gorgeous young Prince Ganymede who was made “cupbearer to the gods”. What does that mean? Hunky barman?… anyway. The divinatory meaning:” The card implies a need to forge a fertile relationship between commerce and creativity, work and play – striking a balance between the masculine need to take action and the feminine way of allowing things to happen”[3]

This Full Moon occurs in what has turned out to be a rather harsh lunar cycle f0r most folks. The New Moon was a rough one mildly irritating and strongly challenging. Scorpio rules the hidden and unseen motives or the indirect methods of reaching and revealing desire. And at the New Moon, that desire was dark and difficult to see.

While the New Moon focused on intimacy and solidifying relationships and partnerships of all kinds, this Full Moon in Taurus illuminates what each of us are actually bringing to the table, either willingly or just by matter of fact.

As all Full Moons bring clarity, this one is no different. Taurus is the sign of material stability and comfort. It asks you to get clear on what you need to be stable; what are your resources. And in the context of this Moon, it comes back to relationships.
