Aries Mercury: A curious mixture of raw energy and idealism. Constantly enthusiastic in expression. Very rarely dishonest because they don't really stop to think about what they're saying. In fact, they often forget what they say once they've moved on. When they actually do stop to think about what they'll say, it's usually a lie - at best. Their words inspire action. They talk with their hands a lot more than others... Not sure why. Perhaps it's a subconscious effort to inspire action in their audience?

Taurus Mercury: Ideas are always practical in the sense that they don't think too emotionally nor intellectually. They speak in terms of carefully formed facts rather than feelings or even personal opinion. They're not slow thinkers. They allow their thoughts to ripen and mature before opening their mouths. Good mediators in fights or heated emotional arguments. Their decisions and observations are not easily influenced by tears or threats. Good judges and judgements.

Gemini Mercury: I'm biased, but we are the great MESSENGERS of the Zodiac... We will get your message across to the masses - one way or another. We may not be diplomatic or charming like Libra, but nothing gets "lost in translation" because people REALLY listen to us even though we jump from topic to topic in a flash. We know how to appeal to any person's personal opinions and interests. Gemini is good at deception because we seem so frank. Don't be deceived; we think faster than we speak... And speak cunningly when we must.

Cancer Mercury: Do NOT interrupt them when they talk. It's insulting to them because they think from the heart. Feelings guide their train of thought, and rarely are their emotions a secret. They're actually quite guarded when upset, but their facial features and body language speak more than words can.

Leo Mercury: I only know one. She loved being the center of the discussion either by being the topic of conversation or the ringleader. Very passionate and had a great voice. Did NOT let anyone insult her ideas our beliefs. LOUD and deeply heartfelt, infectious laugh lol.

Virgo Mercury: Highly intelligent though a bit too attached to the details. Often misses the big picture. Imagine a scientist observing every detail of a growing tree but not noticing the natural ebbs and flows of the forest itself. I've given my Xanax to more than a handful of you guys lol. You're dedicated planners and brilliant organizers who are often sought after (and subsequently taken advantage of) because you take pride in your flawless communication and organization skills. To say no to anyone or any project would be to deny those skills! You guys have a hard time say NO (more so than Libra), but when you do it's the final word... unless $$$ is added to the equation. Then you may change your mind after all. :P

Taurus- Has set ideas and is slower in the way they express ideas. Quite stubborn.

Gemini-Witty, usually knows alot of random bits of info. Superficial though, like word play. Deceitful, likes to hide things from people and lie/twist things to their favour.

Cancer- Emotionally driven, can be alittle whiny in the way they express things. Doesn't express themselves in a way that's very succinct and direct, compared to aries.

Leo- Flamboyant, expressive. Likes things their way. Pretty stubborn, hard to sway their opinion.

Virgo- Intelligent, like to weigh out pros and cons, not impulsive, too fixated on small things and doesn't look at bigger picture as much. Thoughtful, and can be unintentionally critical. Remembers minute details about things.

Libra-VERY objective, has tendency to weigh out both sides for a long time before making a decision lol so very indecisive. Isn't offensive in the way they express things, more pleasant.

Scorpio- Penetrating and likes to look under the surface. Very fixed on their own opinions and always think they're right. Finds it hard to view things from somebody else's point of view.

Sag- Good at looking at the bigger picture. Not quite as intelligent as a mercury in virgo or gem, but is quite expansive in the way they think. Blunt and speaks truth (just like an aries mercury)

Cap- Extremely logical and practical. VERY linear in the way they think. Somewhat judgemental, very fixed in their opinions too.

Aquarius-Carefree and more abstract in their approach. Very detached in their mental processes, finds it hard to empathise. Seems to lack compassion.

"We speak cunningly when we must". No no, I've known a Gemini Mercury and interacted with a few others. They'll do that stuff just for fun and games to watch people be confused (just like the myth) - for whatever reasons they find that absolutely hilarious; or they do it to intentionally be deceptive and cover their own butt.

And...I'm a Mercury Leo and I actually prefer NOT to be the center of the discussion. Then again, mine is in the 7th so that might explain it. You nailed it when it comes to the insulting beliefs. Do that and we'll cut you down to size, fast then trot off snobbily like a spoiled prince or something, the whole "We are not amused" thing.

Mercury in Gemini will talk in circles instead of facing facts, at least that was my experience with a Taurus sun/Pisces moon chick who I had to cut off. She'd writhe her way in and out of loopholes if you tried holding her accountable...

I have Mercury in Aries, very rarely do I have foot in mouth tendencies. I find I'm often misunderstood a lot and I have to re-explain myself often. Kind of frustrating when you think what you're saying is crystal clear. Maybe I'm around idiots, I don't know. A lot of people are surprised when I'm honest with them even though they don't know me that well. I hate the idea of placating to someone just 'cause I just met you. It's like you asked, I told and now you're butthurt. Well, why'd you ask then? I think people need thicker skin 'cause what I say isn't that mean or hurtful. It's never malicious.

Libra Mercury: For a sign that's supposed to represent justice, you sure can't seem to make any judgements. LOL. JK... But seriously, Libran fairness doesn't translate as well in Mercurian affairs. I often liken Libra Mercury to Gemini Venus (mutual reception)... Gemini Venus likes to keep tabs on people, while Libra Mercury like to keep tabs THROUGH people. My Libra Mercury friends often tell me news that they heard "through a friend of a friend".

Scorpio Mercury: See joke above. Scorpio Mercury is not above using every and any form of communication to get whatever information they need to get from you. Scorpio Mercury is NOT always black and white or stubborn - it really depends on the Sun sign. Sagittarius actually tends to be a bit more stubborn about beliefs - spiritual or scientific. Libras with this placement are still objective but Scorpio adds a little bit more "zing and sizzle" and magnetism to the way they express themselves. Zing and sizzle meaning they're either giving you a great, intense pep talk... or they're chastising you to the point of tears. They do have good intentions... deep... (very deep) down inside. Somewhere.

Sagittarius Mercury: God help you if you get into a debate with a Sagittarius Mercury... No really, I hope God helps you because they'll talk your ear off about topics of the HIGHER MIND: religion, philosophy, astronomy, culture, etc. You better KNOW what you're talking about with them. You may need divine intervention to escape a Sag Mercury. They speak in terms of big ideas and overall concepts. I have never listened to more amusing yet annoyingly LONG debates than with Sagittarius Mercury. They'll do it anywhere. In line for the bathroom. 3am Munchy Run at Denny's. Your grandmother's funeral. There isn't much emphasis on tact with this placement. Sagittarius Mercs are also not the best communicators in terms of getting their point across to *different* points of view beyond their own, surprisingly. While they understand other people's perceptions (they study it to a certain extent), they themselves have difficulty expressing their ideas beyond than just... preaching, really.

Let me just end this with a quote my favorite movie, Shawshank Redemption: "I believe in two things - discipline and the Bible. Here you'll receive both. Put your trust in the Lord. Your ass belongs to me."

Capricorn Mercury: I wish I could say more about you guys... but it seems you Cappy Mercs don't have much to say. Small talk is definitely not your forte. You speak when you must, and rarely have the patience to teach or preach to anyone. You expect people to take the initiative to teach themselves. That doesn't go without saying that Capricorn Mercury DOES expect you to be completely acknowledged in whatever you're talking about, very much so like Sagittarius. Except Caps are much more harsh and judgemental than Sag if you're wrong. Again, their thought processes are very practical. Don't waste your (and especially THEIR) time saying the wrong thing! They're not the most interesting people to listen to, but you can always rely on a no-nonsense conversation with them. People don't appreciate Cap Mercs as often as they should, IMHO.

Aquarius Mercury: More often than not, Sagittarius Mercury will eventually lose the debate to Aquarius Mercury. I love you guys, especially with Pisces Sun. While your inconsistant yet constantly ill-timed appearances to scheduled events drives me insane (please get a watch!), Aquarius Mercury always has something weird or outright outrageous to share. Problems arise when people appeal to your for emotional input. You don't think in terms of emotion as you are FIXED air. You might as well go to the Cancer Mercury down the street for empathy. It's not that Aqua Mercury doesn't care or want to help. They just often never acquired the skills to do so. Need help on your Quantum Mechanics essay? They'll definitely help. Hell, they'll write it for you. Just give them a few years, and they'll get it right back to you.

Pisces Mercury: Oh, Pisces. My darling Pisces. Pisces Pisces Pisces. Pisces... PISCES! Are you LISTENING to me? Oh, nevermind... Forget it. Oh wait. You already have? Great.

Your mind is always daydreaming off somewhere else, as if the dullness of everyday life is too much for you to handle. I don't trust Pisces Mercury to drive. LOL... but seriously, I'm not joking. I don't trust any of you. My Aries Sun/Pisces Merc friend was frightened of driving because she just couldn't take it because they was far too much for her to pay attention to and do AT THE SAME TIME. I'm not sure if she eventually got her license... I know her Cancer brother drove her everywhere for awhile... well into college. In college, she sort of disappeared because she never hung out with us. I wonder if she still sees our friends from high school or does her hair any differently. Talking about hair, I need a haircut. I need to remember to write this down. Where's my planner? Wait - this planner is from 2008. How'd that happen? Sigh. I'm hungry. Anywho, see what I did there? Pisces Mercury has the uncanny ability to drift off into thought and sort of jabber on about whatever pops into their head. It's annoying, yet endearing.
