Pink! Any shade of pink but my favorite is OPI Not so Bora Bora-ing Pink. I should have stock in OPI, I have bought so many bottles of this over the years...Here are a few of my OPI pinks (I actually took this picture for my Know Two thread a couple of years ago):

l to r: Blushingham Palace, Not So Bora-Bora-ing Pink (fave), Suzi & The Lifeguard, Aphrodite's Pink Nightie and This Little Piggy

I do wear reds sometimes but I like to get that professionally done, I always feel like I mess up red polish. Although if I am feeling confident and do try at home I use OPI Big Apple Red...

...which is a classic red.

A hotter, darker pink that I like a lot too is OPI You're a Pisa Work:

I like pure white sometimes too, especially in the summer but I definitely have to get that done in a manicure session, it always looks streaky/goopy when I do it...

Sun in Leo in the 7th, Moon in Libra in the 9th...

Normally I go for dark burgundy-ish shades, like "I'm with Brad" by OPI for Sephora.

Right now my nails are red-orange. I wish I could have pointy nails but I can't grow my nails long enough because I wear contacts and its hard to take them out with long nails. Plus I always bite my nails.

and I don't have an idea as to why, but nail polish (even 4 coats of OPI) lasts just about half a day on me, so I have to use something neutral, for the chipping off not to be that noticable, such as:

I don't wear nail polish - at all. If I did, I already know exactly what I'd wear - stark, matte white. Yes, I know it looks like you dipped your fingertips in White-Out; that's why I like it.

I've thought it was cool ever since I saw the movie "Hackers".

I hate pretty much all reds and pinks...they're too girly for me. I even hate black nailpolish now because it's pretty much everyone's go-to color, although the first couple of times I saw people with their nails painted black, I thought it was badass.

My favorite color in general is actually green but the shade in the first post is way too wimpy, pastel and washed-out for me - I like intense, rich, dark, very vivid, foresty shades of green. Stuff like this :

Your nails should not be greasy when you apply polish. Most polish removers contain a little bit of oil in them, as does the nail in its natural state. So you should always remove any oil by wiping them with medicinal alcohol or pure nail polish remover. It's always good to apply a base before the actual polish, but that is optional. I'm pretty sure that this is the problem you have.

Later edit: don't apply four coats! Each coat should be very thinly applied and you should let it dry before applying the second one. They'll peel if they're thick.
