Anyone else with Cancer IC, dislike sleeping at other people's houses?I am capable of spending the night away from home, but am not a fan of it. My sister is a Gemini with heavy Taurus and Cancer influences. Her idea of a good time is hanging out at her house, cooking delicious food, and getting smashed. Every time she invites me over, she tries to get me to stay for like 3 days. I love my sister and her house is beautiful, but I get cranky and uncomfortable when I am not able to retreat to my own space. Any other Cancer 4th Housers experience something similar? IP: Logged |

Since your home (IC) is ruled by Cancer and thr Moon, you desire your privacy of your home. Cancers are very homey (look at your sister lol) so you are too; when at home you are like a Cancer. Do you enjoy cooking or staying in with a good movie and/or book? Do you like to invite other in your place (although I would guess only very intimate friends as the IC is the most personal/private/hidden place in our chart)?

I think other chart factors can indicate this type of thing too. I have Gemini on the fourth house cusp but honestly I hate sleeping over at other people's houses. Every time I stay at my sister's house, there's always a point, usually during the night where I find myself really depressed about it and want to go home and sleep in my own bed. When I was a kid I stayed over at my grandmother's house and pretty much drove her crazy because the whole time I keep whining that I wanted to go home. When my mom came and got me I was thrilled and after that I wasn't allowed to sleep over there anymore, I was that much of a hassle. Even as an adult, every time I've gone out of town to visit family, I've cried and been incredibly homesick. A few years ago me and my younger sister were staying with family out of state and I called my mother up and started crying into the phone. When I went away to college I sobbed every day for the first week...despite the fact that my mom and my home were just across town. Honestly, I cried harder than my roommate, who left behind everyone she knew in another state and wouldn't see them again for months on end. At this point I blame all of this on my Mars in Cancer. On the flip side, I'm also strangely territorial and private about my home space; right now my brother and I are roommates and he frequently has people over and it drives me NUTS. If it were socially acceptable to p1ss all over stuff and 'mark your territory', I'd have probably attempted it a long time ago. IP: Logged |

anongrl10 - I am very much the "snuggle up with a book in front of the fire, while at home" kind of person, but the only people I invite into my home are my Nieces and Nephew (It may be because my Moon is in Virgo and I get inadvertently nervous when people are in my home). They're all pretty young, so I send them on scavenger hunts throughout the garden and use what they bring back to make tea, then we sit and enjoy tea together. It tripped me out that they actually enjoyed it (we live in the US, so tea isn't really a big thing to them). Fortunately it has become a "thing" they always ask to do when we see each other. quote: Originally posted by BelligerentPygmy: I think other chart factors can indicate this type of thing too. LoL that's exactly the feeling. Mine is less emotionally expressed, but it's overwhelming like that. IP: Logged | |
