Still new at this.

Is Mars about lust/sex/anger and Venus about relationships/love?

I get confused when I read things saying "if venus is in aries you are sexually etc". I thought that sexual styles and attraction was influenced by mars? Or is sex influenced by mars for females and venus for males?

I know it is more complicated with an entire chart etc but just wanting someone to clairfy. Thanks!

I liken Mars to passion and Venus to intimacy (both regarding romance and not regarding romance).

Like, Mars is lust and sex because those are very passionate things whereas to have a relationship with someone, there should be a degree of knowing one another and stuff (thus, intimacy).

For me, Venus entices us to Appreciate, Cherish, and Adore, while Mars represents our Will or Drive.

I see Venus as "that which we consider valuable", and I see Mars as "How we acquire what we value".

This is somewhat similar to what I've read, which is that in romance terms, Mars is lust/sex, and venus is the actual 'love' part of the relationship.

Venus is how and what we love, mars is how and in what ways we go about getting it.

Mars is first planet to look at when regarding sex, lust. The reason why eg Venus in Aries is considered highly sexual/sexed is because Aries is of Mars' domicile.( u will read similar on Scorpio and Capricorn) Venus is passive, receptive planet. It concerns with system of values, enjoyment, female identity etc.

I don't know about that last part. My Mars is in Cancer and I'm not really timid or hesitant or passive-aggressive about acquiring things. Then again, I do have a lot of aspects that probably affect that alot, and if it isn't that it's probably just that the rest of my chart overrules my Mars; the rest of my chart is almost all masculine, dominant signs, Cardinal signs, stuff like that. I don't really have a 'passive' chart by any stretch of the imagination.

My Mom is a Cancer, Moon in Aries, Mars in Gemini and she is one of the least timid people I know. I think you are right about the aspect thing, though I never considered Cancer timid (more hanging out in their personal space until they have a reason to come out. For some reason I associate timidity with fear), but that could be due to me associating the sign with a lot of strong willed Cancers.

I would assume Mars in Cancer would essentially make a person seek stability before being willing to fully express. Or drive a person to approach situations with a strong emotional flavor, making them very strong willed about how they feel regarding situations. I'm not sure I have known a Mars in Cancer personally, so those are just assumptions.
