Im curious if there is anything personal in my natal chart that would pin-point my excessive need to look "proper" anytime I leave the house. I refuse to leave the house looking less than stellar, not necessarily wanting to impress others, but I just simply love looking very well kept, I like to look very styled and pretty (I style my hair every morning, put on a little bit of makeup, put on a really pretty outfit etc.) not excessively its not like I am on the runway but it is not unheard of for me to be complimented on my entire outfit/style on a daily basis. Which is something I like to hear - not going to lie - I *HAVE* to look and be well-dressed even if that means wearing expensive items, its a must. This so much affects my life that I do not even see myself having children simply for the fact that I fear losing my petite and well kept physique, My boyfriend talks about children and he doesn't know the real reason of why I am not thrilled about bearing children - for vanity reasons - I fear having children because I honestly do not want to expand - physically speaking - pregnancy seems to do a lot of damage to the female body and that is just something I cannot let happen. I am obsessed with my appearance, there isn't a day where I am not spending time in the mirror. I do not expect my friends to look nice either, but I expect myself to look extremely well-put. I like to maintain my image so to speak. I always hear women say "I dont want kids because I can just adopt" or "overpopulation" my reason? "I fear having children/bearing kids because I do not want to lose the body I was blessed with" i know you can exercise etc, but right now I don't need to exercise (i do just a little) But you see where this is going. It sounds awful, I know, who wouldn't want to give birth to such a miracle - not me! Anything in the chart? BQ: Am I alone in this.. lol. This has been my sole purpose of not having children ever since I was little. I just never had the guts to tell people because I did not want them to think I was so narcissistic b*tch. IP: Logged |

I'd say Venus in the First as far as looking good. The need to look proper might be Saturn in the First. IP: Logged |

I know a girl who has Venus square Chiron (wounded sense of personal beauty) and she also feels the need to look "proper" all the time - fresh haircut, tanned, etc. I thought the "proper" part is due to her Venus in Virgo. But anyways. You have Venus quincunx Chiron. This aspect is like a super square, where you're trying really hard to reconcile two very different energies. I'm one of the camp that laments overpopulation. Too many mouths to feed as it is. I wish there were more women like you who choose to stay nulliparous for vanity reasons. Hey, when the situation is so dire, the ends justify the means, I say. Northernlad's explanation sounds right though. I got Pluto in the 1st and always put on sunglasses when stepping out. My sister has Venus conj ascendant and she's vain, never steps out without 10 lbs of eye makeup on. IP: Logged |

What is a quincunx? I always only paid attention to squares, oppositions and conjunctions as well as trines, but I have never heard of a quincunx.Do I have any weak moon or venus aspects in my chart? Anything that would contribute to my excessive vanity, and excessive energy relating to the self? I wouldn't go as far as to call myself a narcissist.. Im much too aware to be one I believe. But I do have the characteristics.. Having kids is a good idea. And sure I would love to have my own child, but thats another thing i have to mate with someone that is attractive, I refuse to give birth to unattractive children. I know I am attractive myself, but Its also another fear of mine to have unattractive children.. It sounds harsh but Its my truth. I dont quite understand why people are having children in this economy. im looking into getting my tubes tied by age 20. IP: Logged |

Sorry, but what does Pluto have to do with wearing sunglasses LOL. I too NEVER leave the house without a nice pair of sunglasses but then that all comes together with my vanity.Pluto in first house? Power? IP: Logged |

Going out on a limb, but wearing sunglasses because of Pluto in the First could relate to not revealing yourself completely. You could make the argument that by hiding your eyes, you are holding the power of whether or not to reveal part of your physical appearance to anyone you might encounter. Pluto is ruled by Scorpio, and Scorpio doesn't like to show all their cards.IP: Logged |

My reason for donning the shades is to be unnoticeable and to avoid eye contact while sizing others up. That's very creepy and Pluto. And ya, I don't do it for vanity - I use $3 shades. EDIT: You nailed it again, northern. You and your Cancer insights.

I'm loving this forum! Very insightful I do the shades thing sometimes (Pluto in First) But being an Aqua Sun I'm rather aloof and in my own head so this balances not caring to pay ppl any mind. But when I do stare, I am sizing ppl up with I guess looks that could kill! And well Saturn conjunct First house is certified true. I must ALWAYS look proper and my horns raise at inappropriate attired *shrugs* Being honest. Like a bull that sees red...

What house is your saturn in? I too have Saturn conjunct my Ascendant in Aquarius house 1. I relate to you in the sense where I just... gasp? i guess? Gasping maybe but I sign when I look at people that aren't dressed appropriately. It hurts my soul a little LOL.

I read that if your sun is within 5 degrees of your ascendant it is considered in house 1? So... does that mean my sun is in house 1 and NOT in house 12 since my sun is 5 degree?IP: Logged |

I personally don't use an orb of more that 3 degrees when talking conjunctions to the AC. I have Uranus conj AC; Uranus 15' Sag, AC 16'Sag. In your case, the Sun and AC are making a separating aspect, which means it's weakening. I wouldn't read the Sun in the First. In my case, because the orb is 1' I would consider Uranus conjunct the Ascendant and therefore coloring my First house. However, every astrologer/astrology student is different. In any case, your Sun is definitely in the 12th regardless of whether it's conjunct the AC or not. IP: Logged |

Strange, nothing in your chart jumps out as particularly vain, but your sun is conj your asc even though its from the 12th so you can read it as a 1st house sun and 1st house suns can be a little vain. I would have expected to see a stronger venus though and maybe some libra or virgo placements.IP: Logged |

There are many mothers who have several children and still look far better than some women who have never had children. Not exercising is unhealthy, regardless of how your body looks. IP: Logged |

To the OP, my immediate thought was all the planets you have clustered right around your ascendant, so that how you appear to others, means a lot to you. IP: Logged |

True, but let's be honest here - that's extremely rare and is usually the result of freakishly spectacular genes, or working out to death and a strict diet, or plastic surgery, or even a combination of the three. But more often than not, motherhood does take a huge toll on the body, and I could see how if someone is really vain or bases their self-worth solely around their physical appearance, how that might be an issue for them. What, self-worth solely around physical appearance, I don't base my entire self-worth on my physical appearance. Its a major factor sure. Having children is awful IMO. Its a nice *idea* the reality of it, not so much..IP: Logged |

Of course, it means a lot. Sometimes I even end up being 'late' for events, work because I am getting ready. I always have to look on point, even if that means being late. Yikes. Appearance -my own- is everything to me, image - my own- is everything. IP: Logged |

I mean imagine this, imagine i *had* kids, I would deeply resent them and I probably wouldn't even touch them/have any interest in spending time with them. Why? Because they have costed me physical beauty in my eyes. Now I would have to expend a lot more energy working out, eating right again all to drop all the baby weight and attempt to shift back into the body I was used to. Do you see that? What kind of real mother would have children just to feel disgusted by them all because they made her body change? Do you see what I am saying. I know for a fact this will happen. I cannot help the fact that my looks are just apart of my ego and my daily living, its an important aspect in my life. Any threat to this well, you can well imagine how awful i would be towards the threat aka children.I mean Im sure motherhood is a wonderful thing. But I do find that i am much too fascinated and interested in myself and the image i have and wish to maintain, to be qualify as a leading mother. I already have an issue with stinginess, I am not a generous person especially with material things.. it hurts my pride to give things to people, and quite often I ask for it back *lol* See..? Imagine what it'd be like having a kid! It sounds evil and Im not proud of these thoughts I have but i can't help it. IP: Logged |

You are 18 years old and its too early for you to worry about motherhood. Your tune will change in due course. My wife has given birth three times and we lost another child in utero. She's still a size 2, even if she's in her 40s. Of course, she was once a model and she works hard at her looks, but she still looks great in couture fashion. Beauty is partly a state of mind and a reflection of your self-image and self-esteem. IP: Logged |
