Venus in Scorpio (Detriment). It feels horrible, manic. A book described it as Sylvester Stallone insisting he play the part of Juliet, pouring his heart and soul into the role and of course failing miserably and causing the audience to cringe. It has not served me at all. I have Mars exalted in Capricorn, trine Saturn, and I guess I take it for granted. Someone told me that very few people can live in the Spartan fashion that I do. IP: Logged |

Yeah it sucks. The tendency towards intense intimacy in social situations makes others uncomfortable. Very embarrassing! I envy Venus in air.IP: Logged |

Eww, my Venus does not like being compared to Sylvester Stallone HAhah.I could see Steve Buscemi playing Juliet. Or maybe Susan Boyle singing. Ugly as sin, but captivating and beautiful when you actually pay attention. Scorpio is a gnarly energy, and Venus is not terribly into gnarly. I love this quote: "Venus/Aphrodite is also associated with love, creativity, emotional processes and attitudes, how we give value and meaning to life experience, and social attitudes and behaviour. In essence, as Robert Hand points out, Venus embodies the archetype of attraction; a force which arises from within entities as an expression of their intrinsic nature, and bonds them because they are sympathetic, complementary and synergistic, not because some external containing or coercive force has brought them together." - W Howard Scorpio is about seeking "external, containing, and coercive forces", we don't want to settle for you, we will only settle for YOU. In that way, Juliet spends her time hiding in the bushes, watching Romeo hide in the bushes, waiting for Juliet. She waits, willing him to feel her there. But eventually he gets bored and goes home....crisis averted (for Romeo lol). IP: Logged |

My Sun is in fall in Libra. My Jupiter is detriment in Gemini. My 1st house Mars is in Aries it's domicile and my Eighth house Pluto is in Scorpio it's also domicile. (They both love being HOME and feel free to express themselves) That's about it. Having my Sun in a not so happy place is fine. It doesn't feel uncomfortable having my Sun in Libra because my Venus is in Leo. The Sun rules Leo and Venus rules Libra, they've just switched places and they're still very happy. My Venus in Leo flavors my Libra Sun, so it doesn't feel uncomfortable it feels glorious! It's great having my Mars and Pluto domicile as they are in good aspect (quintile). I've got a whole lot of strength and focus. I'm still learning how to be fearless though... IP: Logged |

I forgot to mention, my Sun's ruler is Jupiter exalted in Cancer.Sadly this planet is retrograde, so I have a hard time feeling it in my chart. I can say I have noticed it adds a depth to my Sag Sun that I don't often observe in others. I mentioned in an earlier post " When Jupiter is more cautions it understands that boundaries can be useful and empathy makes Jupiter less likely to chuck bolts of judgment at things. With both traits, its beneficence is channeled into a desire to nurture the needs of others. When Cancer is elevated and "Jovialized", their inherent warmth which people become addicted to, is no longer withdrawn for the sake of manipulation. Cancer feels uplifted and not protective. In Jupiter, Cancer gets to be nice to everyone without caring if someone attempts to hurt it, it is above being harmed by lowly negative problems and now in a position to help. " So I think it adds a homey warmth to my Sun. It also inspires me to feel at home with bettering myself. On a psychic level, I believe it gives me insight by connecting intuitively to the lessons behind life's experiences. When I connect with people, I often get an overview of their experiences and know the right thing to say to help them clear their chaos. I am confided in for help with people's problems often. I also frequently hear things like, "I know we just met, but I feel like you know me better than people who have known me my whole life" or "Wow, I can't believe I just told you all that, I just have this strange feeling I can confide in you". I think every placement has similar challenges whether or not they are detriment of exalted. This is because you always have signs that sextile/trine/conjunct - your own... and others that are square/opposite - your own.Scorpio Venus might make air/fire Venuses uncomfortable in a social situation... but they would not make earth/water Venuses uncomfortable. In the exact same way... if say - a Libra Venus person was stuck socialising with a Cancer Venus, a Scorpio Venus, a Capricorn Venus and a Taurus Venus... the Libra Venus would feel out of place. It's all relative. I feel this way about my Pisces Mercury. I had a teacher who has Cancer Mercury trine mine... and she sang me praises from here to England about how extremely intelligent & interesting I am. But I'm sure that other people with Mercuries that are clashing with mine or making no aspect at all - might feel differently. Alternatively, take a Gemini or Aquarius Mercury person (these are traditionally good placements for Merc). They could end up with a Scorpio Mercury teacher/professor who does not appreciate their style of thinking and the way the express themselves. This kind of thing can happen to everyone.. Ultimately there can be bias towards those who seem more *like* you (birds of a feather stick together, kind of thing!).. and everyone faces similar challenges. IP: Logged |

according to my chart, it says my NN is in detriment in aqua...but i'v also got mercury in detriment in sag and i have really bad communication problems------------------ I once saw a sign that said "sin is death" but if "all deaths are suicide (linda goodman)" and suicide is sin, then shouldnt "death is sin" be more appropriate? when organic is used to describe food then you know we have come to a dark age in history IP: Logged |

Well, to be honest...My 1st house exalted Moon in Taurus is not such a great placement, especially if connected to Neptune & Pluto... Emotions are just too strong to handle, mentally & physically... And it's like that most of the time, it drives me mad, literally!! IP: Logged |

Yikes, I guess you're just a tad hard on yourself, eh. I remember transiting Saturn crossing my Ascendant... very bleak. But at least it was direct so I was able to make others miserable too.

No matter how beautifully Susan Boyle can sing, the world is more into pretty lil Taylor Swift or Britney Spears despite their weak vocal chords. quote: I love this quote: "Venus/Aphrodite is also associated with love, creativity, emotional processes and attitudes, how we give value and meaning to life experience, and social attitudes and behaviour. Yep, and what a guy considers beautiful in a woman reflects what he values. In this respect Venus in Scorpio can run the gamut from Scorpion to Phoenix too. There are Venus in Scorp guys who are really into that sex kitten look and the ones who have a thing for the angelic look. quote: Scorpio is about seeking "external, containing, and coercive forces", we don't want to settle for you, we will only settle for YOU. The obsession, the stalking. Not a fun place for Venus. If she coulda just stepped out and flirted and cater to his male ego like Venus in Libra then maybe they coulda gotten it on that night and not ended up killing themselves.IP: Logged |

Venus in Virgo, Mars in Cancer.I've actually heard that those don't even really 'count' though because each one is in their house of 'joy', so... And...it's always weird to me when people refer to musical talent and looks like the two have to be mutually exclusive. There's plenty of very talented, attractive musicians. And I freely admit I'd rather look at someone who is visually pleasing that can also sing their ass off or write great lyrics or play an instrument well, than someone who can just sing, but makes me wish they had a paper bag over their head (or entire body). 4 planets in Libra - I like pretty. So you won't see me BSing around saying looks don't matter. Hell, even when it comes to surroundings, we'd all rather be someplace nice looking than some place torn down and ugly. IP: Logged |

I have Mercury in Pisces, sometimes it's hard to get my point across. Texting is the worst, but I do agree with Betty Boop that synastry is everything. My parents both have Mercury in Cap, sextile mine, and we get along very well (communication wise). As for "good" planets, I'm not sure which of these two gave me good health, but it's either Sun in Aries or Mars in Aries. I like Moon in Taurus also, I'm calmer than most Aries I know and love. IP: Logged |

I have my jupiter exalted I think in cancer 4th house. Thinks it helps with making me really empathetic and caring? Also I have pluto in 8th house so it's ruler of its own house. Does impact me pretty strongly. For one thing, it helps make me really strong willed and determined. Also I hate superficiality, and I can see through a person and know what kind of person they are right off the bat.IP: Logged |

I have Venus in Virgo (retrograde). It's not a fun position. I nitpick my potential love interests to all hell to make sure they measure up. quote: 4 planets in Libra - I like pretty. See... I disagree with that (very likely because I have very little Libra in my chart, and instead LOTS of fire and earth). I MUCH prefer substance over looks. I MUCH prefer comfort over looks (both on people and in places). Sure, ideally, we want looks and substance, but it's been my experience that lots of people who focus only on looks lack substance (and often genuineness and kindness). MY EXPERIENCE ONLY. Not trying to dig on anyone. IP: Logged |

Detriment: Venus in Scorpio Mercury in SagittariusVenus in Scorpio has been alright for me ..i mean it makes my romantic relationships suck but since it's in my 1st house...i think it is the reason i can charm men very easily and put off a mysterious and sometimes dangerous vibe, so people don't ever mess with me. Mercury in Sagittarius...i speak before i think. i can be a little too blunt and my thinking is sooo scattered..like having ADD. but in general i like this placement. IP: Logged |

I have my moon, venus and mercury in libra, my descendant in Libra and a bunch of asteriods too. I don't really place emphasis on the importance of looks? Personality and intelligence is what I look for. Hot guy with a boring personality or lack of a brain just turns me off completely. I like somebody to be well presented (grooming wise) and don't like sloppy presentation... But sb does not need to be good looking to get my attention. Brains are much more sexy lol.

venus in scorpio + moon in sag = highly infatuated when in love. Many have been confused when they thought i was flirting when really, i was just being friendly (blame my sag moon! LOL) and sometimes, i tend to see most things to be in the friendship level so sometimes, i don't realize that someone had been fallin for me all this time or maybe if i do realize, i still try to deny it act as if we're just friends, even if i like the person, too.IP: Logged |
