So what is the difference between a trine and a quintile? Both are touted as being creative and bestowing talent and natural ability in the chart, both are said to be “gifts”.Well, the way I understand it is like this … The trine is an energy which operates with natural ease in a creative, talented and confident manner within the boundaries of the existing status quo. The person is comfortable with their existing circumstances and can make the most of them – they do not seek to break out of it. The energy is so well integrated with the way the person operates that in some cases they are not even aware of how well and easily they are harmonizing with the flow.
With the quintile it is different. The person will initially find themselves in circumstances which do not satisfy them. They know that the traditions and norms which surround them do not support the way they want to be. There is a desire to break free of this and to deviate from the norm. The quintile person is very aware of what they want, and will feel an inner drive to break away from their past because they know quite consciously that this will not contribute to their personal development. Quintiles bestow the creative means by which a person can effectively pull themselves out of the past from which their growing personality demands to be separated. They go about this in a surefooted and adept manner which takes them in a direct path to where they want to go.
The person who has a waxing quintile (the faster planet ahead of the slower) will purposefully and happily strike out on their own in a new direction without needing the support from the past/traditions/society. This person possesses the capacity WITHIN THEMSELVES to express their creatively. They will independently develop the behaviours and values needed to represent the quintile planets in a way that breaks with tradition.
The person who has a waning quintile (the faster planet behind the slower) will also want to break with the norms of their past, but will look to do so by interacting creatively and originally with “alternative” movements and subcultures within society that they have not been previously exposed to that will offer them a better “fit” to express their creativity.
In both instances there is an individualized creative process which supports the continued growth and actualization of the person, along with an innate talent which enables them to do this. What is important for the quintile “owner” is the need to individualize and creatively express themselves in the most authentic and truest way possible. The Quintile person deliberately steps onto this path of individuation following an initial period where they discover that they are uncomfortable with the norms and conditioned responses and ways of being that they were “born” into.
Orbs must be tight – I would not go above 1.5 degrees.
Please let me know if I am off track with this … it is so hard to find information that is practical to apply on quintiles!!!
