Hi!!

I wanna know the effect of sun/moon synastry aspects in relationships and how much it meant to you.

I know the Sun conjunct Moon in synastry would be an extremely favorable and powerful aspect in any relationship.

But I would like to know if anyone has experienced Sun/Moon hard aspects Opposition/Square (Especially a tight orb!) in synastry and still feel like it was something that was powerful/lasting/binding?

List your Sun/Moon as well as your partner's!!

I have Sun square Moon in natal (Aries square Cap Moon)... and my ex has Sun square Moon in natal as well (Libra square Cap Moon). We have a Sun sq. Moon double whammy in synastry and our Moons are conjunct. It worked just fine. It was almost too easy.. and turned into a marriage-like situation that overstayed its welcome. We are still friends and we're better as friends.
Frankly - I was bored. That was the biggest problem.. and he seemed sick of it also after a while. We are too similar and even though we click a lot on an emotional and intellectual level (our water Mercuries are trine & sextile our mutual Moons)... there's just that 'something' (chemistry etc..) missing.

We even have Venus/Mars aspects... My Mars is conj his AC and exactly square his Venus. But - still - nothing lol... It was 'warm' at best.. Not 'hot'. He's just the kind of person I can see as a best friend, but not a lover. I know he feels the same way now.

There's not really much Sun/Moon action in any of the relationships I've been in.

I'm an Aqua Sun/Libra Moon

1st Dude: Leo Sun/Sag Moon (my Venus completed a grand trine with his Sun and Moon)
2nd: Aqua Sun/Virgo Moon (Moon same degree as my Sun dwad and also conjunct my SN)
3rd: Libra Sun/Libra Moon (his Moon is conjunct mine, Sun opposite my Venus)
4th: Pisces Sun/Leo Moon (Moon conjunct BML)
5th: Cancer Sun/Virgo Moon

The only Sun/Moon I've experienced is my Moon conjunct my roommate's Sun (and his Mars conjunct my Venus).

I have sag sun/ cancer moon (quincunx- eurghh) he has Libra sun/ virgo moon. The chemistry is there, the intellectual/ emotional connection also. He means the world to me.

His moon squares my sun and his moon is sextile my moon, both very tight orbs. The squares def create an attraction, i always find virgo placements attracted to sag placements albeit annoyed by them too

Currently, I have a Sun Opposition Moon with the person I'm currently seeing..and it's under 1 degree too...

I'm not sure if this is something that's good or bad. Some sites say it's like "opposites attract" and some generic stuff like "it's a high indicator of marriage!" thing..but I'm not too sure.

My Sun in Libra Opposite his Moon in Aries.

What do you guys think?

As for "Glue" we have venus conjunct saturn DW. I don't know if that's really glue or just Alaska Ice to the relationship.

Can't say I've ever had much significant Sun/Moon business going on in my affairs, either. It's always been other oppositions/conjunctions that contributed to the attraction, mostly.

1st: His Sun (Scorpio) square my Moon (Aquarius)

2nd: Our Suns loosely conjunct (his Gemini, mine Taurus) | His Moon trine my Sun by 1 degree | His Mercury conjunct my Sun | His Moon conjunct my Saturn.. extremely one sided relationship on his part. I felt zero spark (as much as I adored him as a friend) and he was convinced he was in love with me.

3rd: His Moon sextile my Sun, our Suns trine, his Mars trine my Venus 1 degree. I think the Mars/Venus did it right there. Incredible sexual chemistry and that's about it.

4th: Sun opposite Sun, Moon square Moon, his Saturn conjunct my Sun, my Pluto conjunct his Moon.. extremely fated feeling relationship similar to the first person.

5th: His Sun square my Moon, Moon trine Moon, my Sun conjunct his NN (1 degree), My Mars/Descendant conjunct his Venus/Saturn/Chiron. Probably the most "cozy" out of all of these. Easily understand each other, smooth communication. Very Leave It To Beaver/Mr. Rogers kind of feel.

I know the Sun conjunct Moon would be an extremely favorable and powerful aspect in any relationship.

This is an interesting one.. There are two guys in my life.. just recently (past few months) who have their Sun exactly conjunct my Moon.

One of them I feel the Sun2Sun square with - He is 21... and acts like he is 17 which doesn't help our relationship. Basically I don't like him. It's possible that I don't know him very well.. because he puts up the front of a very irresponsible individual (not at all like Cappy) - but that could be just because he wants to seem "cool". He goes out drinking and partying a LOT - to the point where his friends call him an alcoholic and he seems proud of that.. Also - he knows I am critical of that.. and he doesn't like being criticized. Sometimes I feel like he wants to impress me.. but he isn't sure how to go about it.. He is very used to impressing girls (usually teenage girls) by telling them how many beers he had that night - and obviously - it won't work with me, so he seems a bit lost on 'what to do' around me.
Because I'm European.. I think he sees me as "posh" (he's Aussie)... and I think maybe he's under the impression that he is either too young or in some way not good enough for me.. which makes him angry.. It just feels awkward to be around him because of his insecurities.

Also, he networks to insanity and has like 3000 friends on FB (which - even for his age seems like a strange amount).. He seems very 'falsely' nice (I think he's doing it to boost his FB count - Maybe he has like a *goal* number of friends? It's strange).. so I don't trust him as far as I can throw him.

One more thing - He seems like someone who would easily take a verbal stab at another person... or even start a bar fight.. or backstab someone (and gossip behind their back).. He really just seems very untrustworthy. I have never met a Cap person like him before.

The other guy is a lot more mature and a lot more like a *real* Capricorn. I like him a lot.. and I know he cares about me... but I'm really not sure what's happening there yet.. He has a gf, so it's complicated.
*I'll come back and tell you more about it but I have to walk my dog now!!*

I havvvvvvvvve a Scorpio Sun and a Capricorn Moon. I have maybe like, 5 best friends at da most. Their Sun-Moons go like dis:

Libra - Virgo (no aspects)
I consider her to be my closest, and while I don't play favourites, if I had to, it would be her. Past romantic interest. Deepest yet romantic interest.

Pisces - Leo (her Moon square my Sun)
We're like siblings! We don't talk all that often, but it's an unspoken bond, yo! We compete for Libra friend's attention and time sometimes though.

Cancer - Aries/Taurus (Suns trine)
Way back when, she slapped me out of my destructive ways. I like, worship Cancer-friend!

Sagittarius - Scorpio (Moons sextile)
I tell her EVERYTHING. Sagittarius-friend is there to set me on the right track.

Aries - Cancer (Her Sun square my Moon)
My unwed wiiiife. We go through the same moods at the same time, it seems. Similar upbringings and family life. Mutual romantic feelings, but we're staying friends.

Not me, but my grandparents. Both sets of grandparents had Sun-Moon oppositions.

Maternal

Him: Gemini-Leo
Her: Gemini-Sagittarius

Married 40 years. She was fourteen years older. Had the usual marital issues, but I realized they both liked space. 'til death did they part.

Paternal

Him: Scorpio-Pisces
Her: Cancer-Taurus

This one got ugly: Abandonment, betrayal, secret families & hurt feelings. He was twelve years older. He said she bullied him & hurt his feelings. She said he was mean old man, withheld sex and used it as a weapon. This was an arranged marriage.

"Ma'am, I saw your husband at the airport getting on a plane to Europe."

"No, no, he's away working in the mountains."

...this was how she found out the marriage was over.

Heh, I have my Moon closely conjunct Ascendant and the most obsessive love of my life had his Sun on my Descendant. (the Sun-Moon opposition has a 13 minute orb).
The relationship was very unusual though, I can't really say how this would work in a traditional partnership, but I still have these wonderful feelings for him that I've never felt for anyone else even though he did a lot of bad things to me and I've moved on. I don't let myself obsess anymore, but I can't help feeling so happy and in love every time I see him. (I feel obligated to note that this is also a highly Neptunian relationship). On a basic level though, the attraction was definitely mutual.

Recently I met another man with his Sun on my descendant, but with a slightly greater orb and from the sixth house (54 minute orb).
This is a much more realistic relationship, and I'm extremely drawn to him. The differences in our personalities only complement each other. My Libra Moon needs an Aries man badly. It feels great to have someone who can help me make decisions (since Libras take forever with that) and be all manly and protective I feel like Aries are perfect partners for me, it's really wonderful...

I guess in summary, a man's Sun opposite woman's Moon = great for romantic relationships

I've dated an Aries sun man..which is opposite my moon in Libra...and it was not the greatest experience. Granted, he WAS my first boyfriend...I paid everything for him. We saw each other literally everyday, I even cut classes for him (we were in high school) but he was just emotionally unstable. He had a huge ego, but we would literally break up 8 times and got back together 7 times. He had the "bad boy" image and was popular..especially with the women. Girls all knew he had 1204912049 girlfriends, and then some. I was with him for 1 yr and 8 months.

All in all, it was a learning experience. However, being with him I was not always happy. We always fought over the stupidest things (we were young and naive) and we felt that we could take on the world. Highly not realistic.

The current man I'm seeing is a Scorpio with an Aries moon. Things aren't bad but we are definitely 2 different people.

My sun in Libra opposite his moon in Aries (.5' Orb)

I always thought the sun/moon conjunction is soo overated, I had two different love relationships with his sun in cappy conj my moon in cappy, they were both very unhappy relationships and they were both short term!
The second one, we had the conj 0 deg, it was the worst relationship of my entire life and only lasted 8 months. Ugh sorry for being the party pooper here, lol.

My Sun in Capricorn and Moon in Gemini.

My wife's Sun in Leo and Moon in Gemini.

The Synastry has Sun Trine Mercury.

The Composite has the following:
Sun Conjunct Mars
Sun Opposition Ascendant
Sun Trine Jupiter
Moon Square Pluto
Moon Square Uranus

Other than that, I have no idea what any of these mean. I do know that the Suns are not supposed to be compatible at all, and in fact its supposed to be one of the worst possible combinations for marriage. But the marriage works.

I would understand the Sun person to dominate and the Moon person to be submissive. Something about an "imbalance of power." Something about the Sun setting the agenda, goals and objectives and the Moon person working to support the Sun person's aims and objectives.

For what's its worth, I found this text:

The square between the Sun and the Moon in synastry is challenging, and is compounded by the fact that attraction between the two is quite possible. The Moon person eventually finds the Sun person overbearing, too rational, self-involved, and insensitive--even if the Sun person is not generally thought to possess these traits. The Sun person eventually finds the Moon person too dependent, temperamental, emotional, and sensitive. The Moon person, in his or her attempts to support the Sun person, can feel resentful. Disagreements on how to spend shared finances, how to raise children if there are any offspring, and how to spend leisure time are all strong possibilities. Even if both individuals work towards the same goals in their partnership, the method by which they go about getting there clashes with their partner's "style". Bickering, nagging, and general discontent can plague this relationship. Both parties must consciously work on avoiding putting each other in the position where they feel the need to defend their habits, opinions, and individual identities. Much energy can be wasted in little battles that are generally a reflection of each person's inner battles. Competitiveness may be stimulating for awhile, but it can also be very draining, especially if the individuals share a lot of time and space with each other.

The opposition between the Sun and the Moon in synastry is less problematic than the square, simply because there is a ping-pong effect and some kind of promise of potential balance. The attraction is strong and mutual, and the ties can be quite binding, as both people involved are drawn to the relationship. However, many of the problems described for the square aspect potentially apply, although the desire to stay together might be stronger with the opposition.

Sun opposition Moon:
What does it mean in a relationship when your natal Sun is in opposition to your romantic partner’s Moon? A Sun opposition Moon aspect necessitates a reworking of your relationship expectations. Differences in background, thinking, temperament, and approach to relationships attract you together and then repulse you in what can become a repeating cycle. If your partner’s Sun is in opposition to your Moon, you will have a frustrating time trying to get your emotional needs met.

Synastry Sun opposition Moon

Could be good or bad for compatibility (depends on charts). Arguments can be a problem in this relationship, with the Moon person dissolving into tears and the Sun person unable to relate to the Moon person's needs. There is strong attraction, though, and a feeling of connection. If the rest of the chart shows good Mecury and Moon connections, then the two should be able to deal with the occassional flare-ups through communication and empathy. Otherwise, it could be a rocky road.

Not much experience with Sun/Moon relationships.Just one that I can think of.

For some reason, I tend to avoid Cancers. Usualy that means that their sun forms a conjuction with my moon. I find that my emotions can be too "on the surface" with these people.Avoid relationships with these folks like the plague.

I like it when the moon is in Sag though. Had a relationship with a Leo who had his moon conjunct my sun, but it didn't work out.Was very nice and comfy relationship, very nurturing! The Lion always made sure I was emotionaly okay....

I agree actually... I feel like this aspect isn't something that would really make or break a relationship... Both of mine with it were really defined by everything else going on in the synastries, especially with outer planets to personal ones.

My boyfriends sun in Aquarius makes a pretty wide conjunction to my moon in Aquarius. He and I have been going strong for four years now. <3 <3 <3 <3

No matter how far the orbs are of a sun and moon conjunction in a synastry chart, you do feel it's effects since they are both luminaries.
