Do you find that wide orbs in natal/synastry just take a while to kick in?

If they kick in,it's because of progressions.
And by wide,u mean...?

No, my natal ones I felt immediately.

I think they may not always be readily apparent to OTHERS because of the wide orb, but I definitely feel mine and felt them from the beginning.

What aspect? If sextile,I wouldn't consider it,if square, yes. Mercury works well with wide orbs.
I have to elaborate a bit; when I said if they kick in,it's because of progressions,I meant that: some aspects r 'unlocked' at certain periods of life-thus progressions solution, but it isn't necessarily because they r wide, just spectific time has come.

Hmm that's useful to know about Mercury.

I guess the tendency would be gone with the progression then.

I should have been the one to elaborate a bit in my OP, sorry about that!

I have moon conjunct mercury (libra) by 7 degrees and I can feel it, though it's definitely not as strong as my moon conjunct venus (2 degrees)

I also have moon square saturn by 7 degrees, and I can feel that as well.
