I've read in numerous places that the the dark side of Taurus brings of the negative traits of Scorpio...

I personally find this very accurate! I read this in a book earlier and I asked my mum and she said it was really accurate of me!:L

So does anyone find that Taurus can sometimes show the dark side of Scorpio??

I find them quite alike anyway...

i don't understand?
what do you mean "'dark' side of taurus brings out the 'negative' side of scorpio"

also, what are we considering tauruses 'dark' side here
what are we refering to when we say scorpios 'negative' traits.

Not really... Taurus has bad traits of being lazy, indulgent, rigid, stubborn, possessive, materialistic

While Scorpio's are paranoid, very manipulative, stubborn, secretive, rigid too, prone to anger and emotional issues.

I'd say Scorpio's traits are much worse and harder to deal with.

Well, possessiveness and stubbornness seem to be (neg) traits they have in common.

I feel that they do have many of the negative traits in common, they are both jealous, posessive, stubborn, controling, and can have anger/violence problems. Jeanine Avery says that taurus on the asc can be one of the most potentially violent of all asc and I agree with that.

Ah, see you saved me keystrokes...

But yeah if you see a Taurus who fits the Scorp description then odds are they have a lot of Pluto/Scorpio activity in their charts as well...I know a Taurus sun with Mars conjunct Pluto in the 8th house who acts in pretty stereotypically Scorpio ways - usually in a negative sense. Manipulative, vindictive, tries to play head games... thing is, I'm Plutonic to some extent myself so I always see right through it when he does it and all it does is make me dislike him more, it's not really working in his favor or causing me any undue stress or negativity like he's undoubtedly hoping for.

I believe it. Opposite signs often mirror each other.

I.e. a Libra with issues can show some of Aries' negative traits (super argumentative and combative)

A Virgo with issues can show some of Pisces' negative traits (overly self-martyring)

A Pisces with issues can show some of Virgo's negative traits (hypercritical and impossible to please)

I'm not saying this is always the case, but I have witnessed ALL of these examples in real life so I know it happens. I also had a Taurus male friend who was quite Scorpionic in his personal life, very manipulative of his wife and mistress.

I think it is an interesting indication of how opposite signs are connected to each other. It's like if an individual is uncomfortable or afflicted in expressing their Sun, sometimes they subconsciously reach across the opposition axis and steal some tools out of the opposite sign's box.

I've seen a few Libras who are argumentative, in fact more so than the Aries I know. They know more than you do.

For example, all my life, I have led a fairly healthy lifestyle in terms of eating and exercise and just in general. A Libra co-worker, who is always sick or complaining of some malady and just doesn't eat a healthy diet questioned me when I told her I eat healthily. She was downright argumentative about it. I wanted to tell her to look at her own diet.

The similarities I've seen with Taurus and Scorpio is they both tend to be possessive about people and rigid in attitude or beliefs.

blue topaz,

my libra moon roommate is like this! i have a mostly very very good diet (if i could afford it it would be off the charts healthy; i'm 99% vegan, no sugar, rarely wheat, etc). anyway, he eats a LOT of processed food (i'd say 90%) and is addicted to sugar and icecream. anyway, ANY time i mention ANYTHING relative to my diet he criticizes me! and yet he is ALWAYS complaining about how crappy he feels! he comes home and brags about how little he spends on groceries (and the implication is always there that i am wasting money by eating healthily) and yet i am not convinced because a quart of ice cream every other night adds up you know? anyway just a little vent but yes, of the librans i know, they are extremely argumentative (but do vacillate and tend to be very needy when it comes to approval so they become submissive and complimentary just as often). i do struggle with libran energy for some reason so i think i am a bit biased here but i always feel like they want something from me and as a very independent aquarian it makes me uncomfortable.

as for the OP i'm not really sure. i'm dating a taurus and i've dated other taurus' -tauruses? taurii?- (it's my moon sign so i love em). i find taurean energy is extremely placid and very STUBBORNLY so, and so the exact opposite of scorpio IN GENERAL but yes there are some distinct shared qualities. i think opposite signs are half exactly the same and half exactly opposite.

like, i do not LIKE moods. and i know it is more than my aqua sun. and this is even coming from someone with a moon singleton in the 4th house. i only WANT placid, even-keeling relaxed calm quiet when it comes to emotions. and i AM way more comfy WITH emotions than the average aqua i think.. and i do feel okay about people having them, but all i want to do is help relax people when they are upset and relax myself, period. whereas scorpio almost wants to exacerbate the emotions of people to 'feel them out' or whatever, it seems. or they react really strongly. my default emotional reactions tend to be, 'well, how can i relax with this info?' and that's pretty much it even if my emotions are pulled around, that is what i do with them. so, VERY different from scorpio.

oppositions really fascinate me!

I agree that the "energy" feels different.

To use the Aries/Libra comparison. I've had fights with people of both signs. A fight with an Aries can be very direct and intense and fiery, but it's a real fight and when the dust settles it's over.

A fight with a Libra outwardly seems the same, but (in the experiences I've had) it was kind of like fighting with someone who was punching air. They just wanted to punch without a real goal in sight. Like they couldn't resolve things the "Libra" way so they adopted a crude copy of their opposite sign. It wasn't true Aries energy, but an imitation. That's the best way I can think of to explain it.

What's wrong with being stubborn? Most of you assume it's a negative trait, why?

Well, if you are stubborn about something that's incorrect, you are a) stupid and b) potentially dragging other people into your stupidity.

Had a stubborn Taurus boss who wouldn't do ANYTHING about a particular employee who was screwing up work for the rest of us. Literally the whole department was complaining about her, but nope, stubborn Taurus decided that we were just "nagging." Then he couldn't figure out why all of his best employees hated him and department morale had plummeted.

Stubbornness isn't bad by itself, but it can really drag out a bad situation unnecessarily.

well as a taurus moon dating a taurus sun i can tell you there are ridiculously awesome benefits of stubbornness as well as very frustrating drawbacks (as per above).

Because stubborness is opposite to being open minded and flexible.

okay so maybe there are no technical benefits to stubbornness for its own sake , but the flip side of stubbornness is steadfastness, loyalty, preserverence, non-fickleness, dependability, calmness and presence.

Agreed, my Libra sun always sees the flipside!
