I thought it would be neat to share what your dream career/dream life is and look at your natal chart to see any correlation.

Mine is to be an actor (specifically a movie star). This came upon me when I was in college, when I realized how much I love performing. I come alive and feel a real adrenaline rush. This, and because I want to be 'known'. I've always had that feeling - since I was little. I never participated in drama in school. The closest thing to that is being in chorus when I was in elementary and that was because everyone was doing it.
When I was little though, I danced and sang for people all the time. I was a bit of a show-off (typical Leo I guess). My family thought for sure that I would be in entertainment somehow.
Instead, my schooling was all about academics. That's what was emphasized for me, not creative pursuits. I pursued science in school and now am in engineering. But its not my dream.

Here's my natal chart...

My dream career is to be a Stay-At-Home Dad. My North Node in Cancer is in House 5. I turned out to be a banker. My career is alright, but I hate my present job.

I hated school, but that was emphasized, and I went through far too much of it and did fabulously well.

Capricorn Sun, Mars and Mercury. Ascendant Pisces or Aries. Moon in Gemini. Venus and Saturn in Aquarius. Jupiter in Aries. Neptune in Scorpio. Pluto and Uranus in Virgo.

My dream: stay at home mom. Umm, I'm working on it...

I do love to write though. I had a chart reading and the astrologer said that I should definitely write, do anything creative. She was adamant about it! She said that I should really get into it the characters, be inspired and even dress the part if I have to (she got that right without even knowing me at all!).

The thing is - I have creative ADD. I write a little of this, a little of that but I rarely complete anything. It would be easier if there was some way I could just tape what is going on in my head because I think so much and so fast. I have a million ideas, the problem is getting them down and focusing on one at a time. I have some half notebooks full, some quarter notebooks, some saved documents. I do have a decent blog though! It is so easy because I write in spurts. Maybe I should concentrate on short stories.

I used to write plays and stuff when I was little - starting at at age 6. My first was a musical inspired by the song "Go Tell Aunt Rhody (The Old Grey Goose is Dead)". It was pretty dark for someone my age!

I am a great speech writer (and maker), but I wouldn't want to do that for a living.

So instead I am struggling, doing this and that in education, healthcare and various non-profits. I can't seem to find my niche and I'm not sure writing is it (Uranus conjunct MC)...

Here is the chart:

hmmm We both have the ruler of the MC, in the 9th house which rules publication. The 9th house symbolizes worldly matters and the 10th is status, so ruler of the 10th in the 9th probably has to do with seeking a world status.

Lots of stay at home parents! YoursTruly...thats interesting that you want to be a stay at home dad and your north node is in the 5th (children). But your 10th house ruler is in the 2nd. From cafeastrology:

Ruler of 10th house in 2nd house

Your professional success will be reflected in your income. Most likely you will make money through the profession you choose. Your resources and values play an important role in your future success.

I think I can see the banker connection there, and maybe because Jupiter rules your 10th and it is almost exactly square your north node in the 5th. Your values tie to your career, and I'm sure you value your children. So there seems to be a connection there.

downtomars...it sounds like you've already found your niche. If that is something that you just have to do, that sounds like its what you were meant to do!

Cooljen,

I guess someone has to pay the bills and feed the children I have a tenth grader and a first grader.

My mission in life is to provide for my family, and I do my best in my career to buy all I can afford for my family. My sons get the very best that I am able to pay for.

If I were truly a wealthy guy, I would call it quits, buy a couple of beach houses and take care of my wife and sons I like cooking for my family, and I also enjoy tending to the home and gardening. I'm not going to lie that I enjoy cleaning bathrooms or doing the laundry, but I'm competent at all household chores.

If the roles were reversed and my wife had my earnings capability, I would have sbsolutely no issue staying at home and attending to her homefront needs.

I am trying, it's just stupid Uranus ruining things !

The Sabian Symbol for 8-9 degrees Leo (Mercury, Karma and Destinn) is:

quote:
GLASS BLOWERS SHAPE BEAUTIFUL VASES WITH THEIR CONTROLLED BREATHING.

KEYNOTE: The need to involve one's most spiritual and vital energies in the creative act' if it is to produce significant and beautiful new forms.

The breath represents the power of the spirit, animator of all living manifestations. Because the glass blower uses his breath to shape the glass vessels, he is a fitting symbol of how deeply any creative individual has to involve his total being in his creation. He is also using the fire of the spirit — transpersonal inspiration — or, in another sense, the fire of deeply felt emotions. Any creative activity which does not involve both the "breath" and the "fire" cannot transform into beautiful artworks — or indeed into any new form of order — the raw materials, remains of the past (the "sand").

This fourth stage of the twenty-sixth sequence symbolically shows us the technique required in true and successful transforming activity. It always implies CREATIVE INTENSITY.

My issue is the concentration thing...
