Does Venus and aspects being made towards Venus indicate an individuals obsession with their physical beauty?I have a habit of spending a lot of time in the mirror. it doesn't affect anyone but myself. The most I've spent is approximately an hour infront of the mirror, staring into my reflection. There have been days like today where ive missed out on classes, and errands because i become fixed with my own reflection i wouldnt say im in love with myself.. more intrigued with my physical self? Entranced? I dont want to sound pompous at all... apologies if that's how I come off... Is it Venus alone or other planets that would highlight this tendency? IP: Logged |

Um.. sounds like you have some insecurity or something. Never become obsessed with yourself.IP: Logged |

Liking to look at yourself, realizing and appreciating your beauty is insecurity? I thought people who dislike themselves, put themselves down, I thought all of that is insecurity? (Ignoring extremities here) Or is it just bad altogether to be remotely aware of yourself and appreciative? Is the message society teaches us to like ourselves in anyway, is that all wrong? Not liking yourself, putting yourself down = insecure? Liking yourself, and accepting yourself = insecurity? am I supposed to dislike myself? *confused* IP: Logged |

No, but if you have physical beauty, it's not lasting and therefore stupid to put so much value into it. IP: Logged |

My sister is beautiful with Venus conjunction rising and she always puts herself together (spends about an hour) I think she only sees her looks as her only value and it worries me what will happen when her looks start to fade. IP: Logged |

I'm aware it's not long lasting, I have other things going for me. This wasn't my question though, althoug you stated the obvious which is also quite nice. I'd rather put value into myself than not to put any and expect others to accept me when I can't accept/value myself = futile IP: Logged |

How old your sister? I think it's great she wants to look her best. More people should do this. Do you think conjunction would amplify the energy compared to Square or opposite, what about a trine? IP: Logged |

I don't think its bad to fix yourself up but her world is 80% looks and she places a lot of value on being attractive. I have the sqaure and even though I am attractive and have had many nice things said about me, I don't go out of my way to get ready. Jeans, shirt flip flops are my style LOL sometimes I may dress a little tacky LOL I workout a lot (aries rising) so I wouldnt mind just being in gym clothes all day (clean ones of course) oh and she is in her early 20s. Its just everything goes back to looks. If she sees someone not so attractive with someone really attractive she can't understand that there is more important things to a person than looks. I mean, it's okay to take care of physical self.. I do.. I'm a Libra Ascendant with Venus trine Ascendant so I know what its like.. But I still know my image even If Im at an advantage is something Im not going to use to think Im better nor will I spend hours looking at myself in the mirror. There are better things to do. I think I know what you mean. I like to admire myself in the mirror too. Now, I now I'm not perfect, I know not everyone's going to find me attractive (hell, if even half of everyone liked what they saw, I'd be super flattered), but I just like to look in the mirror. Smile, make a face, look at myself from different angles... Venus wide conjunct Sun here. IP: Logged |

Im a libra sun, taurus asc, with venus in the 5th in a grand trine with moon and asc/chiron. I am so vain, I disgust myself! And no, I am not full of myself, Im one of those vain, extremely insecure people(chiron conjunct asc). Its as if I feel that if im not beutiful then I am nothing and i would cease to exist. I know my chiron is affecting this, but the vain part is all venus. Venus is the strongest planet in my chart. And I stare in the morror constantly!IP: Logged |

Also sun-pluto aspects can make a person a little obsessed with themselves, there is intense self analysis and they think of themselves consantly. I dont think this would focus on looks tho unless the sun is in libra, like mine.IP: Logged |

You would cease to exist if you were not beautiful? Sounds accurate. Lol. Your Ascendant is Taurus.. Of course you would cease to exist if you were not beautiful. It's your reality. IP: Logged |

I personally find classy older people better-looking and more visually appealing than people my age (mid-20s) who try too hard and look too fake (not saying that everyone my age does, but a lot try too hard).
I was referring to incarnations. IP: Logged |

If you are born beautiful in one life, im certain you will be born ugly in another. each incarnation is there to teach us. and the only thing that survives each incarnation is your soul. So if you are a beautiful earth angel soul, you are truly the definition of being beautiful regardless of your physical appearance. IP: Logged |

If you know anything about chiron in 1st or on asc they can feel like they do not exist. Existance to them is very ephemirial. On the asc it can get tied up on the way you look. There can be deep wounds around this. It has little to do with a taurus asc specifically. I would think a libra asc conj chiron would get very caught up in this.IP: Logged |

Its ok, im not mad, its just that this has effected a huge part of my life in a prety negative way, but I think im getting off topic. We were talking about venus and while venus is mega strong in my chart, I know my issues around the way I look are chiron asc, not venus. Sorry. My obesession with beauty in the first place is venus tho.

so become the wounded healer you were meant to be by making people see their beauty. it's your destiny. you have to pass the test first and see your own beauty before you can guide others though. IP: Logged |
