Both being Venus-ruled, they both stand for peace. Taurus already has a peaceful center within self and Libra, being a cardinal sign, pursues peace socially with others through balance (since it is exactly halfway across the zodiac circle).

They are both artistic but Taurus stands for the sensual, earthy, feel-good physical side of Venus whereas Libra is about the aesthetics.

Taurus is about money, Libra is about the transaction.

They are both superficial, because Venus herself is shallow. Taurus is about the surface beauty of nature, not the less-pleasant processes brewing underneath that produce all that beauty (that would be the domain of its opposite sign, Scorpio). Libra is about the surface view of a relationship, the legalized portion that is shown to the world, not the processes going on behind the scenes (8th House, Scorpio).

Hope that wasn't too much of a mess! That's all I can think of at the moment.

Edit:

Taurus maintains and develops the empire through acquisition. Libra maintains the peace of the empire through developing and refining its laws.

If you cause someone material damage/loss (Taurus), they have grounds to sue (Libra).

Fixed Earth vs Cardinal Air

Hmmm, I'll have to compare my friends...

The Taurus I know are very sensual and indulgent. Whenever I think of Taurus, I think of dark chocolate, truffles, and spa days. They're always ready to participate in mindless self-indulgence.

The Libras I know are more intellectual, focusing their interests in more refined matters such as history, politics, or music. Things that require refined intelligence.

Libras keeps tabs on people and news. Taurus keeps tabs on stocks be it on Wall Street or in the kitchen pantry.

"Venus is the planet of love and beauty."
I feel like Libra is more focused on love & relationships, while Taurus is focused on beauty & art.

Fixed Earth = Natural Resources made of the Earth, such as diamonds, ore, oil. Volcanic rock, slowly reshaping the face of the Earth.
Cardinal Air = Air in Motion, like music... or gossip The Global Winds that create our weather.

That's all I can think of. I need sleep.

In my own experience, Tauruses I know are more stubborn/fix (which I think at times is a good trait) and don't need to talk as much. Also their rooms are always clean, mine ranges from one extreme to the other. Their cooking is delicious. A Taurus I know loves to travel to the same place every year and booking the same hotel, this would drive me mad lol.

Good question. Well being a Libra I don't tend to get along with Taureans, however I do like them like all signs of the zodiac.

The differences I've noticed are a mix of what has already been mentioned. Libra's are witty, intellectual, talkative, graceful, social, artistic and tactful. Taureans are sensible, methodical, trendy, and pleasant. The most obvious difference can be described through their symbols the scales and the bull. Libra's are the diplomats, the peacemakers, the artists, the lawyers and Taureans are the builders, the manufacturers, the creators. Libra's are interested in beauty and harmony therefore do whatever they can to manifest this. Taureans are interested in accumulating and acquiring, they are driven to please their senses, they are materialistic and sensual.

I actually don't know much about Taureans besides the one or two I've known in my life. A friend of mine was a Taurus and she was very into fine wines, quality clothing and just luxurious things in general. It would frustrate me to hang out with her because she always wanted to go to extremely expensive places which just didn't fit my tight Aqua Ascendant budget. There are more important things to me then high priced foods and wines. I actually can't stand materialistic people and of the Taureans I've known, they both were very materialistic.

The Libra's I know aren't that into accumulating quality things, they just like beautiful things regardless of their price. They can be shallow and superficial though, both signs. Libra's radiate this aura of grace and elegance and an ethereal beauty that's just inherit in them. I've always found the sign of Taurus to be filled with attractive individuals, but commercially beautiful, mainstream beauties. Libra's have this ethereal quality to them, and it becomes very obvious when they smile. I can always spot one.

Maybe I'm biased being a Libra . I actually forget that Libra and Taurus are both ruled by Venus because they seem so different. I think you've got a Libra quality to you because of your 7th house placements Sand. I guess you can identify yourself as a true blue Venusian.

well i guess since i have a taurus rising and a libra sun i can see the differences and the similarities in myself.

since theyr both ruled by venus i think they both have the tendency for indulgance and laziness. both signs are hard workers though, taurus being the most determined and head strong about the end goal and libra goes in sprees. taurus is laid back and generally tries to keep the peace as well as libra, thats why they say once you anger the bull it can be the the loudest cry of the zodiac. venus doesnt like to loose its equalibrium, and thats how libra is too. they both enjoy nice surroundings as well. both are very artistic! ive noticed that taurus is good with paints, crafts. libra is good at fine literature/ philosophical expression.

i think the main differences is the air/earth expression. libra expresses the venusian energy in a more communicative way, its really mental. the love is express through the mind. taurus has a more physical expression loving touch, and sensuality. taurus expresses love in possesions too, like gifts to the loved ones and taking care of who they love. libra is a bit more flighty and unstable for taurus though.

so who said that venus is shallow? there were some really awesome/great minds who were taurus/libra and they were far from superficial. ghandi, john lennon, t. s eliot, salvador dali, neils bohr...i think their messages and meanings behind their motives were pretty damn deep.

You're talking about people but I was referring to the archetypes of these signs. That's what I thought this thread was about.

I'd say Venus is about superficial beauty/initial attraction, not deep (Pluto) or transcendental (Neptune) love.

Aww! Puppy's.....

I would think of Libras as poodles since they're dainty and intelligent. And Taurus as German Shepherds, maintaining assets (sheep). And German Shepherds are gentle for the most part until you mess with their stuff (the sheep), so there ya go....they have that Aries streak

I'm sorry, but LOOOOOOL LMAO.

I actually laughed out loud at the dog pics. Thing is, I think there's truth to that.

I think of poodles more as Virgo - in the most annoying sense possible.

Hahaha geez...lol your reaction to the dogs made me go lol

I can see the Virgo-ness in poodles but would expect a more utilitarian breed to reflect Virgo.

I'm a Taurus and my older sister is a Libra... we've been close since childhood. But yes, there is a difference. I'm more hot-headed and she's more calm, and peace-like. She's also a bit more glam than me, I have a bit of tomboy still in me from my teen years.
