If someone's Venus is at 29 degrees and 49 (minutes?) in Aquarius...is that going to be interpreted as Aquarius or Pisces since it's so close?

I am tinkering with someone's birth time and if he was born within the first 4 hours of the day, he was a Venus in Aquarius at the very very late 29th degree...but if he was born any time after 4 am he would be a 0 degrees Pisces.

How is this interpreted...is his Venus more like Pisces or more like Aquarius? even if he was born before 4 am, his Venus' degree is sooooo close to Pisces..

Get his birth time, then you'll know.

My Venus is at 29 Pisces, and it is, without a doubt, a Pisces Venus. I also have Saturn and Uranus at 29 Sag, and again, they're definitely both in Sag. I've never had to question those aspects in my chart.

I think it really depends on the person aye. Personally I think it makes them possess traits of BOTH signs.

the further the degree the more into the next sign it is?

see that's what confuses me. someone told me when the sun is within 10 degrees of the Ascendant than it's considered in house 1. I have sun in Aquarius 5 degrees. so why is it in house 12?

Linda Goodman didn't believe in cusps.

^ If there's a sense of urgency associated with the planet (such as being overly friendly or jumping into relationships), it's probably in 29 Aquarius.

Yes, I have heard that you are one or the other, always. However, you may have traits of both.

I look at degrees as levels of evolution through a sign. I see 29 degrees to be a degree of crisis or even a "going through the motions" of a sign on the verge of transformation. From what I have been observing, 0 degree planets can feel like they are in limbo or an inexperienced/idealized concept of the sign. Similar to the way Moon phases work, new issues arise in the New Moon and those issues are eventually resolved by the next New Moon. Though the next New Moon brings it's own experiences, they are also based on the lessons of the previous cycle. Each sign is an answer to a question which is posed by it's predecessor. Aries learns to be a self and Taurus learns to define it. Taurus defines the self, and Gemini learns to communicate those definitions outwardly, etc...

I have Venus in Scorpio 29 degrees and I completely identify with how people refer to Venus in Scorpio, however it feels like I can make a choice about how to use Venus. My Venus also happens to be in a Scorpio ruled 8th House, so the lack of immersed energy isn't due to bad placement.

I also have Saturn in Virgo 00 degrees, and often times my Saturn energy feels hard to grasp outside of a caricatured idea of Virgo. It feels as if my Saturn is immature or new to the idea of Virgo. Saturn is also part of a Grand Earth Trine in my chart. All of the planets involved are close to 00 degrees and the Earth element generally feels like new ground for me. I am completely right brained and creativity driven and have little material or business sense. I do however feel as though I have a lot of earthy talents readily available to me when I need them.

Interesting topic. I've often heard that with the planets (perhaps with the exception of the sun), cusps don't exist. But, there are other aspects that might contribute. I have a mars in Libra at 28 degrees, and I too even feel like there are times when I can definitely be the 'typical' depiction. But, there are other times when I am 'very' much things described by Mars in Scorpio.

That being said, I have a Mars-Pluto conjunction also and my Pluto is in Scorpio. So, you could possibly have some aspects that give a 'feel' of a Venus in Pisces, perhaps, if that makes sense...?

In my opinion, cusps don't apply to planets, so it's either one or the other.
If it seems like both traits are present, it's probably due to other fators in the chart.

I have four planets that fit into this category….

Venus at 29 degrees of Sagittarius

Moon at 29 degrees of Cancer

Jupiter at 0 degrees Cancer

Saturn at 0 degrees Virgo

I definitely feel that there is NO MIXING OF THE SIGNS AT CUSPS. My Moon is entirely Cancerian, my Venus is very Sagittarian, Jupiter definitely feels Cancerian, and Saturn feels very Virgo to me….

I think that unless someone takes their first breath exactly at the moment of transition (and I mean to the second)…. That they are either one sign or another, not both.

I don´t believe in signcusps.

If someone seems to have traits of both signs, this probably is due to certain affects or having other planets in the following sign.

Lotis White,

do you see housecusps as different? Or would you also say, eitherr a planet is in one house or the other?
In my chart I have Uranus in 10h house, but only a few minutes away from the 11th housecusp.

I have Mercury in 29 deg. Sagittarius and while i totally relate to Mercury in Sag, I also relate to Mercury in Capricorn..especially in my writing style. BUT..I have Mercury conjunct my Capricorn sun (7 deg) so it's hard to tell what's happening here

Ceridwen,

I tend to see the house cusps as being different then the distinction between signs. A house cusp to me is like an astrological point in our charts, like the nodes for example…where as the distinction between signs is not a point in our charts…but merely the area where the mode of energy expression changes styles…and a planet or point will have one style or another depending on which side of the sign cusp that it falls on… also I feel that the distinctions within and between signs is very specific…. The main evidence of this, to me at least, is the existence of Duads… even with in a sign itself there are 12 little distinctions or sections, each with it’s own unique sub-influence for every two and one half degrees of that sign….like my Moon at 29 degrees of Cancer also has a Pisces deacan, and a Gemini Duad…. With suits me as I do tend to have a lot of internal mental dialogue

With regards to house cusps… in my chart Mercury is conjunct my Asc from the 12th house, and I can feel how Mercury is in my 12th… I tend to be a total daydreamer….while also influencing my Asc thorough a conjunction….my mind tends to leap forward very fast, as if I’m in a hurry, and my mind is a very dominating part of my outlook on life, I‘m a real thinker type… unless I have a firm mental grasp on things I feel uncomfortable and unsafe…

So yeah, I tend to think that a planet aspecting a house cusp is similar to what happens when a planet aspects the Nodes, or the Vertex…. And I do pay attention to all aspects to house cusps, not just conjunctions…

On the other hand, I don’t think of my Venus at 29 Sagittarius as being conjunct Capricorn… to me this just seems silly….what I have noticed is that planets early in a sign do have more of a newbie quality to them, as if they a just getting the hang of that sign, while planets late in a sign have this feeling like their almost done with this energy, but not just yet… Xiiro was talking about this in an above post…

Like I feel as if I’ve almost completely mastered my Sagittarius Venus, but that I still have a little bit more Sagness to go. Only I don’t at all feel as if I’m going through the motions. I still love being where I am and having Sag Venus traits… not ready to move on yet.

Hi. I've got a few planets at 0 degrees so I can talk a bit about how I experience that one. I feel the sign's energy in an experimental kind of way; without preconceptions, but at the same time not too sure on my feet about what I am doing. It is quite hard to explain but it feels that the planet's energy is not completely incarnate or immersed in LIVING in the sign - it sort of explores and improvises, sometimes engaging with enthusiasm when encouraged and sometimes withdrawing completely into a shell when the modus operandi does not work out. There is a definite learning curve involved.

people that have a planet at 29 degrees and are relating to the next sign... see where that planet is in the progressed chart.

I have Mars at 29 Sag and ASC at 29 Gemini and those energies are totally me BUT my Prog Mars is in Cappy and my Prog ASC is in Cancer and I relate to them...
