So about trines,What makes something a 'valid' trine or not? If an asteroid, or the asc. is included, is it considered a trine? I have heard it is not, but I thought I'd ask. There actually seems to be disagreement about this. It includes my asc (Libra), chiron (gemini 'singleton' 9th house), and jupiter (aquarius, 5th house singleton). Moreover, exactly what does the trine indicate (regardless of whether I have one or not), generally speaking? Also, about stelliums (I've asked this before):
How does this stellium business work? I was looking at my chart, and it has a curved red line/arch curving over all of those planets (I think like 7 planets, but only 6 when I reduce the orbs), which is a stellium, no? Crosses the end of the second and most of the third. Scorp (merc, saturn, venus, uranus, sun, moon, neptune) to Sag, respectively. Is it 'normal' to have a stellium with so many planets? Would I read it as mercury conjunct saturn conjunct venus conjunct uranus conjunct sun conjunct moon (lol, this sounds absurd)? I wasn't sure of the implications of this placement! IP: Logged |

I suppose you are talking about the Grand Trine, which is a configuration involving 3 planets all making trines to each other. Normally the angles aren't considered to be part of such configurations, and neither is Chiron. So I wouldn't consider your trines as part of a Grand Trine, although some people may still count it in.As for the stellium, you need to consider the orbs between the planets. Usually a conjunction is at maximum 8°, 10° for the luminaries (Sun and Moon). IP: Logged |

Thanks so much Doux Reve (I like your name a lot, btw). I should have typed grand trine, you are right. And about the stellium, when I reduce the orbs to about 85%, it goes from 7 planets to just 6 planets. It seems like even the widest is still less than 8°. What does this mean, exactly, I guess functionally...or energetically? I am also particularly interested in how the 5th house Aquarian Jupiter might play a role in this. It is the only 'real' singleton I have. IP: Logged |

Honestly it depends on who you ask. Some will count trines or other aspect patterns that involve Chiron or the angles, some won't. Someone told me I have a Yod involving Chiron, while other people insist it doesn't count, that sort of thing. Not sure when you were born, but concentrated, stellium-heavy charts tend to be somewhat common in those born during the 80s or later. Most planets in my chart are either in Leo or Libra; my younger sister's chart is just about all Sag with a few Scorpio placements thrown in, that kinda thing. Just read the interpretations for the individual conjunctions. It's perfectly normal. Trines indicate ease, things that just come naturally to you without any effort. Natural inherent gifts, basically. IP: Logged |

Ah! I see! This definitely helps--thanks for this! IP: Logged | |
