Holidays are around the corner, the Christmas mood isn't all that great considering how snow has ceased to fall.. 6 days till Christmas and it still has not snowed ..

Surprisingly all things are well with my family, so much that we are all going to have a very big family get-together, I am not looking forward to it I don't do holidays or celebrations I don't think the attention is all that necessary but w/e makes everyone happy i guess....

The guy Im seeing knows about my fam situation and he knows that things are much better. With that being said lately he's been talking a lot about the holidays and with his mother gone (abandoned him) he is all alone taking care of himself and his sick father. Its the first christmas they'll spend without the mother. He has been "asking" what I will be doing for Christmas and New years, my answers usually involve "family get-togethers" which is true, I need help deciphering what he really means, He does have Venus, Mercury, and Moon in Cancer all conjunct so the indirectness is strong with him which I don't mind, I think its kind of cute.. I need help deciphering what he actually wants me to do or ask of him. He keeps asking "So what are you doing for christmas?" he's asked me this 10 times, I know he doesn't suffer from mental retardation or some mental deficiency but this is how the conversation will go which makes me think he is dying for me to ask him something but wont outwardly ask me to ask him (sorry if that confuses you):

him: So.. what are you doing for christmas?
me: Spending time with family, big big dinner
him: thats great my father and i will just have dinner
me: aw thats lovely!
him: yes so babe you can cook right?
me: of course.. (dont know why he asks that because i cook all the time for him especially when he's sick)
him: you can cook very big dinners? elaborate dinners? say.. for the holidays?
me: of course, especially if i actually put work into it. why do you ask?
him: just wondering
me: do you want something?
him: im just wondering babe
me: hmmm cause you ask this everyday, you can ask me what you need
him: i know i know so me and my father..
me: do you want me to cook dinner for you and him on christmas?
him: what? nooo.. no
me: would you like to spend christmas at my place have dinner with all of us?
him: whaat? no no.. so you're going to have a big dinner with your family?
me: mhm yes do you want to come do you want me to make you something?
him: no... no..

lmfao what the f*** he's so weird. So any experience with these types? I have a nagging feeling he WANTS to be invited or WANTS me to join his father and him for dinner where I prepare the meal but just won't come out and ask. He did the SAME thing when he was sick, I asked if he wanted me to come by and make him meals etc he did the
'noo.. noooo...' but i came by anyway and he was ecstatic and then said "I was beginning to wonder if you would come and take care of me cause I am sick"

Do you think I should just invite him or something? Do Water Mercury types have a hard time just asking for things? My Mars is In cancer and sometimes its hard for me to ask for things that meet my needs but recently i've pushed through that and its helped me a lot.

Any advice would be great. When they do this do they really want you to go out and do what they say they don't want you to do for them?

I guess I can relate a little bit on asking for things
