I don't consider myself 'squeamish' per se or even faint of heart. I don't freak out at the sight of blood. I don't 'freak out' or panic period. But...I do get lightheaded easily when dealing with medical topics. Its funny because I love learning about the body and how everything works, but once people start talking about things that go wrong, diseases, or bad injuries, or if I watch something about that - I may get lightheaded.I discovered one day (while watching an episode of ER a couple of years ago) that this was something vagal. The 'vagal' statement was made in the episode and it prompted me to look up what that meant in a medical dictionary. Eventually after also searching online I discovered vasovagal syncope (which is basically just the medical term for fainting) and vasovagal episodes...and then also discovered that some people have very sensitive vagus nerves. A HA - I thought...this sounds exactly like my problem. I'll hear about something medical or watch something, and all it takes is for one little thing to disturb me or bother me just for a moment and there begins this domino effect that I can't stop. My parasympathetic nervous system kicks in; queasy feeling starts in my stomach, a cold sweat starts (and I don't normally sweat at all unless I'm doing serious physical work), dizziness sets in, and if I haven't yet gotten my head down somehow, then I'll start blacking out and faint. Its annoying. I've been lightheaded lots of times. Its not like its something that happens often, but every once in a while I'll be in some situation. Anyway, what I was wondering, is if there was something astrological that could point to that. No, I'm not looking to say 'oh well Neptune is in the 6th house - thats why this happens'. I'm just curious if anyone could think of any aspects or positions that may point to this. Anyone else faint of heart? IP: Logged |

but I don't think the lightheadedness would kick in with that - I know that that is fake. Its more medical stuff because its like 'oh this could happen to YOU' IP: Logged |

I can't touch things like that, but I can usually look at them alright. Some things I can't though. What it largely comes down to for me is the emotional state of the person experiencing it. If they are on an operating table knocked out, I can look at anything just fine. If they are in a movie or something and in clear distress of some kind I can't handle it at all. ------------------ It's All Elemental ----- My Chart if relevant IP: Logged |

Yeah...thats definitely a factor for me as well. I can watch surgeries too. But same thing, if the person is obviously in serious pain or something, that makes it hard to watch.IP: Logged |
