Sorry for the thread derail, but this is important to me. Adderal is fine if YOU feel you have concentrating issues. An antidepressent is fine if YOU can come to conclusion that you are depressed. I do not like the idea of you taking abilify as (after a quick check to remind myself) it was originally used to stabalize psychosis in individual with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder. It can be used to treat depression. However, under no circumstances do I believe that this should be used for someone as a first line for depression. That's not what it's used for. I would do some serious self-analysis on your mood and ask others around you to see if they can notice a change. I myself in all likelyhood should be on medicine for anxiety or depression, but I refuse. Guess what? I am still happy and function. I work on myself all the time and use therapy and cognitive therapy to help myself. I think you could GREATLY benefit from therapy. The key is you MUST open up, completely. Not right away, but be honest with yourself. I hate to see someone get harmed by a medicine that they do not need. ------------------ It's All Elemental ----- My Chart if relevant IP: Logged |

Ah, you already see a therapist. Wonderful . I think you'll be alright in the end as you clearly do take care of yourself. Just don't let medicine be the answer. You have a lot more control over your own mind then you might think. We all do. It's just hard.------------------ It's All Elemental ----- My Chart if relevant IP: Logged |

No need to apologize. I see this as a community and I want everyone to get along and bond and I agree with your thoughts on pharmaceuticals, I think they should be avoided as much as possible. Although there are some exceptions. Both me and my husband were diagnosed with "ADHD" bf high school and he is a genius and I am pretty smart too. I took aderal all through high school and neurotin too bc of my mother as she was trying to control me this way, even though she meant well that was the root of it. IP: Logged |
