It is possible for a natal chart to have Saturn conj Jupiter with less than one degree orb. One is the planet of restriction and the other is the planet of expansion, so if they are exactly conjunct in a natal chart. How would they work together? Would they neutralize each other?IP: Logged |

I think it depends on the sign the conjunction is in and also the house. I have the conjunction (1 degree orb) in my 12th (Saturn's joy) and in Libra (Saturn exalted). So in my case, Saturn wins all the way. As BelligerentPygmy accurately pointed out, it is believed that Jesus had such a conjunction in Pisces. Maybe the highest potential of this conjunction means balance of optimism and pessimism, thus allowing the person to see clearly.IP: Logged |

Appleberry I also read something like that. Example: I have Jupiter opposite saturn. and saturn is my not so proverbial "wet blanket" It does restrict my expansion. I guess it is because they are working at cross tendencies due to opposition. Conjunction i think it is much better position. I think, Jupiter can expand but it should be in Saturn terms.IP: Logged |

Saturn demands discipline and structure so paired with Jupiter it will demand that if expansion is to be done ~ it has to be done in a structured way and not recklessly. It will inhibit Jupiter to a degree but growth is more likely to be stable (and hopefully permanent) when conjunct saturn. Jupiter unrestrained can be overly optimistic and make mistakes, yes it could get lucky but this is not guaranteed. IP: Logged |

You need to check the jupiter/saturn midpoint and see if anything is there. And look for trines and sextiles to that particular pair of planets to see if you have "help" balancing it out. But the opposition can indicate a larger than average need to find meaning in the life. Religion/beliefs can be an important area of study/thought and sometimes you might swing from optimism to pessimism. The opposition doesn't deny material success but you might have more "opposition" to achieving your goals. Across the 5th/11th it may be important for you to create or make something from your ideals but there may be a fear of the creations not being good enough. Depending on signs and other chart factors there could be "issues" with children/art/romance...the usual 5th house associations. But it really depends on the whole chart and how much "time" this particular part of your chart gets on planet reality. Liz Greene & Stephen Arroyo wrote some lectures on Jupiter/Saturn ~ The Jupiter/Saturn Conference Lectures. It might be worth getting a copy. I think I picked mine up for next to nothing. Isolate one planet adding in the other. Isolate Saturn so you can say Jupiter expands it. Isolate Jupiter so you can say Saturn structures it.The key to this interpretation: Bad aspects like opposition and quincunx brings the worst qualities of the two. Good aspects like conjunction and semi-sextile bring out the best in these two planets. IP: Logged |
