So, with yesterdays New Moon activating my Moon/Jupiter square, I've had a revelation about its meaning.I always interpret Jupiter's placement to reflect what one's life experiences and relationships have led them to believe about the world and how they must be in order to be successful in it. And today, it dawned on me that Moon square Jupiter could definitely mean that one's belief system is in conflict with their family/roots/tribe where they come from as shown by the Moon. I'm still thinking about that one. But on the surface it makes sense. I mean this is quite strong for me. My ENTIRE family is very religious. It is the identifying/tribal marker so to speak. Being a Christian etc... And I am just not. My experiences have led me elsewhere. What do you think? Do you have Moon square Jupiter? How does this play out in your chart? I would like to say too that this is Jupiter in Capricorn square Moon in Aries. And that defines it perfectly. There is a strong legacy and tradition (Jupiter in Capricorn) of Christianity in my family. My father's grandfather started a very large and popular well known church in our city. Generation after generation. There is a strong sense of pride surrounding this religious/spiritual legacy. But I have an Aries Moon which gives me a strong inner urge to express independence and be a pioneer. To be creative and to be first at something. And being a professional astrologer definitely qualifies. Aquarius Sun with an Aries Moon and Capricorn rising, I guess I am pioneering my own legacy. Breaking trends and being forward thinking and ahead of my time...yep. It all makes sense. Especially since there are a LOT of Cancers in my family who seek to uphold tradition. It all makes sense. Sorry to ramble but I thought I'd share ------------------ my blog IP: Logged |

So, I'm wondering if we who have different aspects could also go against upbringing, in whole or in part, but perhaps it feels different, takes on a different form, or can be harder or easier. Perhaps those with more friendly aspects have an easier time with it and are still able to maintain good relations with the past, whereas those with harsher aspects might find it more difficult? I also wonder if where the planets fall could also indicate what kinds of conflicts arise, what traditions you leave behind, your motivations in doing so, and how others respond to you going on your own path?
1. i love that you use whole sign house system. i found it to be accurate across the board. 2. i think you're own to something with the whole aspect thing making it feel different. squares are generally dynamic and motivate action or change. and there is definitely internal and external conflict in my situation. i perceive the religious tradition in my family to be very strong. and its is! my jupiter is conjunct neptune and both are conjunct my ascendant. i also have mercury and venus in capricorn. so i am going to naturally be sensitive to family tradition, acceptance, legacy etc. and i have a strong desire to build my own legacy. my moon is in aries in the 4th so definitely a pioneer in my family, in how i put down roots. and then with all that capricorn planetary energy in the first house, there is more aries influence in the sense of a strong sense of self assertion and projection, but in a capricorn way. you get me?? my chart is making more and more sense! thx for sharing ------------------ my blog IP: Logged |

This is a really interesting observation and thread! I don't have this aspect, I also don't have this dilemma - but I bet a lot of people do - and it will be interesting to see your theory play out. Thanks for such a thoughtful post! Wild Places IP: Logged |

I am the ''preacher'' and religion curios one in my family, but not in traditional way although in my mind only real way to be religious is the TRADITIONAl if it makes any sense. I am very curious about my roots and history of my family, I want to do a DNA test to see where all my ancestors come from and all those things. IP: Logged |
