genetics play a huge role

but astrologically, the ascendant is our outer appearance, including personality. i do what i can to educate myself on rising signs, i am still learning. but something stifles me here, especially with saturn risers. since saturn in astrology is the planet of time, restriction, hard work, limitations, etc. to put it bluntly majority of articles i've come across online from "astrologers" (i do not know if these people are astrologers. thats why i quoted this word, a lot of people say things who knows if it's real?) that pretty much state saturn risers to be unattractive, in short ugly. why is that?

is it because they come off as serious looking? do some people perceive that is ugliness? i even read quite a few were stating saturn conjunction ascendant would make the person look very ugly, malnourished, deficient physically etc, almost gaunt looking.. because i have found this to be opposite, cap rising/saturn risers that i personally know are very attractive, physically. so i'm curious how some "astrologers" or i don't know, people came to this conclusion? or that they look depressed. i'd like to also here from saturn/capricorn risers or anyone that has aspects being made to their ascendant with saturn..

Saturn can go either way. It is the lord of Karma but all Karma is not bad. A person can have Saturn in Libra conjunct Ascendant trine other natal planets; this shows karmic reward.

Saturn is about Karma; good or bad. You have to take the whole chart into consideration.

both, saturn on the ascendant and capricorn rising generally i think of capricorn rising being saturn rising since thats the ruling planet of the sign, i have noticed with both = "ugly" "unattractive" "devastating" physically speaking. i just nod my head in disbelief. especially the men with cap rising or saturn conjunct ascendant are mindblowing!

no no serious is not unattractive not at all.. depends who the person is. i'm drawn to serious looking people, probably because i look serious too.. but they tend to have this mystified sex appeal about them - the guys - serious looking ones. because they don't show their cards right away. its a constant guessing game.

i think he was way hotter when he was younger. in james bond too. he looks like a grandfather to me, i am not attracted to grand fathers, unless they look like homeless men, the hobo look which is so sexy to me. maybe when he grows a huge beard i'll find him just as sexy compared to how he was in his younger years.

However Saturn does not aspect his ascendent and his Saturn has a lot aspects to it and quite a few of them are soft(trines, sextiles, quintiles):

Saturn sextile Sun
Saturn trine Moon
Saturn Quintile Mercury
Saturn conjunct Venus
Saturn Trine Mars
Saturn square Jupiter
Saturn Conjunct Uranus

consider it almost the same.
saturn rising = saturn conjunct ascendant. any conjunction to me = one in the same, 1 and the other coming together, igniting. saturn conjunct ascendant (rising) = saturn rising. yes i know saturn returns every 25 years blah blah blah.

capricorn rising (ruled by saturn) = similar characteristics with my definition of saturn rising

maybe that would clarify things

but then again i don't always accept all that's said, there's always a new way of looking at things, even if a so called astrology says something is this way, there's gotta be more. don't you think?
