Come February Neptune will hit my 7th house and stay for 14 years. This has me worried about illusions in relationships, attracting those who need fixing, rose colored glasses in relationships etc. At least this is what I have read. Also, pluto has been in my 5th house since last year. What can I expect from Neptune in the 7th? Frankly, it scares the cr*p out of me!! do you all have any positive experienced to share regarding this? And, how do I keep grounded and steer clear of the negative aspects of neptune in this house? Thanks.

If I were you, I'd steer clear of partnerships altogether during this transit and instead engage in groups (11th House).

No but I will in a few years.

Great question Polysigh
I have a strong Neptune influence, in my chart. There is really no way to steer clear of it. I suppose that Neptune brings intuition, as well as deception. I would try to really listen to myself. If we go wrong, we usually go against our intuition. Do you agree?

Thanks Ami! I have so much earth in my chart that i have trouble trusting my intuition. Of course, its the deception part that worries me. I feel I am ready for a real relationship (after playing cat and mouse and mutual running from a significant someone for the past few years) I simply cannot do that anymore and have decided to try my hardest to let go. So, I feel like neptune in my 7th for 14 years! will make it difficult to find a solid relationship that is good for me. Also, with pluto in my 5th for the next several years...would that mean I may also attract controlling partners?

Oh dear..14 years? that would scare me too...

I have an upcoming transit of Neptune conjunct my descendant / 7th house for 2 years. I dont like anything I have read about it. The same thing- illusions in relationships and such. I dont like the sound of that because i had my heart broken in 2010 and decided to stay single in 2011 and now i feel im ready to open up again...i have this transit..ARGH.

there has to be some sort of positive element..

How much water do you have. That is usually intuition? Where is your moon?

Ami, I have no water in the major planets but Ceres is in cancer (does that count?). also, my progressed Sun, mercury and venus are in scorpio. Plus, I have sun and venus conjunct pluto natally so that does give me a bit of a scorpionic/water vibe (i think?) My moon is in virgo. Ironically, despite almost no water, I do feel I have very good intuition BUT i have a very hard time trusting it. because of the earth and air in my chart i tend to intellectualize to the extreme

It won't be the same for 14yrs long!
A lot depends on what else is going on in your chart.
But yes you can't avoid all partnerships for the next 14yrs -that would be insane.
Just keep in mind the possibility of deception, of erroneous or high expectations, possible disappointment after a period of illusion, and some such.
Depending on what else is going on in your chart, you could make it OK through it.

It is not insane. I know some people who have been single into their '30's because they were concentrating on school and they haven't been diagnosed as being insane. They're happy on their own.

@ topic: During Neptune transit thru my 5th, I experienced disillusionments in romances, especially when it conjuncted my Moon and then squared Venus a few years later.

I have Neptune natally in the 7th. It doesn't mean no romance/partnerships. You will, but yeah, what you *think* the relationship is, and what it *really* is, can get skewed. I also have a lot of Earth, and it's hard for me when I realize I've been "had." It has happened, but not that often.

What has been hardest for me, with the Earth in my chart, is adjusting to how vague things can be. It's really hard to pin Neptune down, and it feels like things are not solidly there. Like you're always kind of chasing mist. Annoying for Earth to deal with. Just try not to get carried away with the Big Blind Love stuff, and you'll be fine.

Oh, and there was a "friend-of-a-friend" I heard about who has t.Pluto in the 5th, and t.Neptune in her 7th. They're both just about out of her houses now. Anyway, she did have several relationships, plus the Big Love of her life. The bad news is that the Big Love dumped her, straight out of the blue (an Aquarian, go figure...). She took it hard. Still working on fully recovering. The sad part is a lot of people could clearly see it wasn't going to work. Now she has a WAY heavy Neptune influence in her chart (including n.Neptune in the 5th), so she probably would never have been able to tell how doomed it all was to begin with. She still won't acknowledge just how bad some of it truly was. So, that's Neptune for you.

Wow, taking it a bit literally, didn't we? LOL I didn't write that SHE would be insane, I wrote that IT would be insane to avoid all partnerships for 14yrs. Apples. Oranges.

Thanks, Anongirl. I agree with you, I can't avoid relationships for that long nor would I want to regardless of neptune in 7th or not. I do think IT would be insane to do that!~

Capri, thanks for the insight. At first I thought you were kidding but I guess you were serious! I am sure some people can try to avoid serious relationships when neptune is in the 7th but with my venus/pluto natal conjunction i think that would be impossible!!

i found this one regarding the neptune transit and 7th house...just another opinion but not so gloomy..

"Many interpretations required for Neptune transits as complex as this force is.

I look at Neptune transits as periods of time where isolation in a particular area of our lives (in your case Wyoming, courtships and intimate interpersonal relationships) catches up to us. I see the influence of Neptune transits as one that restores the experience of unity and indivisibility where barriers, borders and defenses have been built up unnecessarily over many years. Sometimes as these walls dissolve, emotions trapped behind it floods out... as grief, relief, compassion and even inspiration.

This can also be a time when you meet "the dream lover", a romantic ideal where the Animus archetype gets projected onto the beloved as you fall swiftly and deeply in love. It can also mean a time of finding someone with whom you can share your dreams, as if you are both dreaming the same dream; that's another kind of ideal relationship, isn't it ?

So many possibilities with Neptune... "

Polysigh: I didn't mean to come off like I was telling you to keep out of relationships, sorry if it sounded like that. It's just what I would do myself.

What tbelle posted sounds like a positive take. I guess Neptune transits through a house are about opportunity in a way, different from Jupiterian bounty, or Uranian flashes. Unlimited possibility through dissolving the boundaries that divide two individuals, when in the 7th. What you thought impossible becomes (temporarily) possible.

I guess disillusionment might set in once it exits and boundaries reappear...or when negatively aspecting another planet.

Neptune transits are blissful though, stuff of dreams, I just hate it when they're over or interrupted....it feels like being jerked out from a nice bubbly bath back into cold air. Not pleasant to come crashing back down to earth after something heavenly...that's why I would avoid.

Sorry, no further advice, but it sounds like others have some good tips.

Im going through the exact same transit. My pluto 5th house square just ended. It was pretty ugly but needed to get the cobwebs out.

I am entering Neptune t 7th house, and i must say i feel the same as you do. I am terrified i am going to have the wool pulled over my eyes, so have decided not to deal with anyone. I hope my feelings change!

So far, a good change i have noticed is communicating with God better. I ask for a sign and I get it most of the time. Maybe that would be considered intuition also. Much more clear. Kind of weird actually. But I hope to maintain it for a lifetime.

BUt yes 14 years is a long time to deal with this, and i am concentrating on the great posts here that i have been looking for in my topic with the same subject.

curious as to how this will affect my marriage.??? hmm hoping to be on a more spiritual level. Im going in knowing he loves me...

Going in knowing he loves you is a great start!! It's nice knowing I am not crazy for fearing this transit. I am hoping both of us can survive it unscathed. For some reason, neptune in general really scares me. Like you, I am terrified of being deceived which was the reason I posted in the first place!!
