Well, it was an interesting holiday weekend with my S.O.'s family. To say the least, we caused strong reactions from some of his family. So much so, that we we're given a "special talking" to like we were children. We're in our mid 20s.
I get a feeling it's one extreme or the other with us..that were going to upset people even if we're not trying to... I was curious if anyone has had experience with getting reactions from people as a couple? What did your composite and synastry look like?

Hahahaha. . Sorry.

My wife and I are an interracial couple in the first order and we get stares at from everybody. We are an Asian guy from Asia and a Southern White girl. There is nowhere in America we can be left alone! We had to flip the little birdies to both our biological families. We get bigoted in the middle of church! Never mind elsewhere.

I'll post more when I get to a proper computer.

This reminds me of a conversation I had with a Gemini about interracial couples. He said that he thinks that the whole world should mix so we only have one "race" and then there wouldn't be racism anymore. I think he was referring more to becoming one race so that we as a society would ultimately become one culture... Either way, I suppose that would be idealistic, but so is communism. I rather like that there are different cultures around the world, different ways to view how to live life. If we had just one culture, things would be awfully boring and one-sighted.

My boyfriend's family is your very typical Caucasian "American" family. His great aunt met me at the Christmas party they had last year, and the first thing she said to me was, "How long have you lived in this country?" because I'm Filipino... Because you know, none of us can be born on US soil. She didn't even ask it maliciously. She really wanted to know how I've been living here...

I think society in general is more accepting of my boyfriend and I because we're the White Guy/Asian Girl stereotype. Of course, some ignorant friends of his have asked me if I only date white guys, and I always say that my first bf was Filipino like I was. Then they'll joke about penis size, me liking white men more, etc. Ignorance still comes out from others in the end, even if they are accepting of us as a couple.

We have a lot of 9th house action in our synastry and composite.

The mother of one of the girls I dated asked me if I am from the Scottish Highlands. You see. My name is Ian. ROFL.

Ya. My folks are from Dunkirk. . Naw. From Cork. We're Celtic but from the Emerald Isles.

Next hilarious question is "but what's your real name?". "My name is Ian". But really. What did your parents name you? "%>#%€£^%@$&. They named me Ian".

Ok. "I'm Eggroll Good Fortune Grasshopper". Happy?

You will quickly become immune to that nonsense. In the whole scheme of things, what all these people think doesn't matter. Focus on the love of your life.

My parents forbid me to marry her. Her parents forbid her to marry me. In the same breathe were prayers that God would instill some common sense into us. Religion and bigotry in the same breathe. What hypocrisy. Then came the threats that they wouldn't attend the wedding. Fine. You wouldn't get to hold your grandchildren either.

Sorry I know I promised to post my charts. I will once I get my kid to fall asleep and get on a proper computer instead of this blasted phone.

Oh. I've had more than my fair share of special talks! So, what are your life plans and how do you plan on supporting my daughter? Did you finish college? How were your grades? Err... No. I don't work at the dry cleaners or take out restaurant just because I'm Asian!

First of all, regarding school and/or grades, you're talking to an Asian. Enough said. Next, I'm an investment banker. Any further questions?

^ I got lucky when it comes to my parents asking about me dating outside of our "race" (I use "race" in quotes because I hate that word. Feels bad to say or use in that context). My mom usually cut through the ******** and asks for the essentials:

Does he make a lot of money?
Are his parents divorced?

Because if he doesn't have a lot of money, at least we won't be embarrassed to mention his family to our friends... because divorce is the worst thing that can EVER happen. Shame shame shame.

If he does have money, well... we can just not mention his family at parties.

My father only cares if I don't end up getting divorced with kids and living back at home, etc.

quote:
He has Sag DC with Uranus conj DC...lol

Saggy-influenced men really do love foreign things, don't they?. Countries, artifacts, religions... women. I haven't met one that doesn't have some sort of fascination with the exotic and faraway.

Yourstruly-
With your wife, you have
DC composite in Scorpio, in the 7th. The ruler
is in Virgo, conjunction URANUS.
Then your MC together again shows Uranus ruled,
which is in Virgo in 5th.
So ruler of both DC and MC connect, which defintely
shows a couple that is seen in a dynamic way.
With so many planets in Scorpio, Im guessing its hard
for people to look away. Theres a lot of jealously I would assume
from being together.

I was reading up on the composite ASC, Yours being Taurus comes off calm and nurturing, but with ruler in Scorpio in 7th, I can see how jealous open enemies(7th) could end up the alternative reaction.

Gasp.... where did you learn to speak English?! For a foreigner, your English is SO good! Errr... I studied in England...

What is your first language? "English." No, but what do you speak at home? "English." But what do your parent speak? "@#$# English."
