i think capricorn is my 3rd dominant after peeping the facebook guy's dominants on astro theme. we just have different moons.

capricorn on the ic? cap jupiter?

i know that kinda goes against the aquisitiveness of a taurus sun. i do love shopping lol but i get bored easliy with things and i don't want them anymore.

uranus in h2? sag on the cusp of h2?

gemini nn in h8?

are you like this? what in your chart would indicate this?

I'm a minimalist. This is what my chart has in common with yours:

Uranus in the 2nd (value freedom from possessions?)
Chiron in the 8th (Mine is in Taurus)
Neptune in the 3rd
Pluto in the 1st

I think Capricorn and Saturn are good candidates. Minimalism is to eliminate the redundant and unnecessary. For example, one may like to have an iPod, but it isn't necessary for survival. ^ Aquarius and Uranus is a good example, as well. There's less focus on physical clutter and on more pressing intellectual matters.

I have Saturn and Uranus in the 3rd... I'm minimalistic in the sense that I only own the essentials. I have maybe five pairs of shoes, two large purses where I carry all my essentials like small snacks or medicine with me, one small purse for other occasions, and that's about it. I have maybe six shirts that I rotate for everyday use, two pair of skinny jeans (black and blue), and regular jeans. My whole life can fit in two large bags. I almost never check in a bag when I travel.

Of course, I'm not minimalistic in speech or writing.

Smartphones in general are great for the minimalist. Who needs a TV or stereo system or GPS or voice recorder when it's all rolled into one?

Hehe vive la Age of Aquarius =) Technology FTW!

^ If you think you're complex, you should meet my mother. She's very controlling of those closest to her, but she has almost no self-dominance. She'll say whatever the hell she wants to say and do whatever the hell she wants to do. This includes hoarding. I am going to inherit a lot of STUFF.

She has unaspected Libra Saturn.

Never said she was.

I wonder which we should look at more... 3rd house or 4th house. I guess 3rd house would be more apt since it rules how you interact with your surroundings and the 4th rules just your home or nurturing style...

Not sure about the House, ask Mr. Coffee, he's the resident expert on that. But makes sense with the 4th House. I have Sagittarius on the cusp....I can't keep a lot of stuffs in possession when my home tends to change frequently.

If anyone needs that spelled out, lmk

heeeee .

In a way I am sort of a minimalist. Only with certain stuff (mostly in my head), and only at the end. In my mind, the only way to reach minimalism is through complexity. I must collect vast amounts of data, information, facts, hunches, etc. until there seems to be no room left to store it and there is the sense that the forest is lost in the trees. Then I will boil it down into a single simple point and solution. Everyone who is close to me knows this about me. Most will say "His methods make no sense, at all. Yet, it works, and it works really really well."

Thinking about it, I believe this comes from having jupiter conjunct mercury in gemini in the 8th house. It's a wide orb (9 deg.) but after reading it a few days ago, I KNOW for a fact it effects me. I'm kinda obsessed with endless information .

My mind struggles with minimalism in many ways. This is why I am terrible at stuff like sudokos. It's a really simple system that becomes super complex and can do many things. I work in the inverse of that.

Tautomer4314: I bet you woulda done well on the LSAT then. A lot of the reading comprehension questions center around boiling down several passages into one deduction. Hopefully that skill comes in handy in your field. If not, I guess that 9th House Chiron in opposition to one of your 3rd House planets might be saying something about how you can heal others experiencing the same debility.

If I had a passion for law, I am sure I could do quite well with it for that reason. I am not a fan of it though for the most part though. I am an organic chemist and it works super well with what I do and how I think. I stick out though because not many people in my field solve things the way that I do. It gives me an edge though because I'll come up with things that no one else considers. It also explains why I can read people so well and figure out "life problems" for others easily. I can take all of their info and boil it down.

My chiron aspect explains that healing well. I have experienced a huge variety of different emotional states through my life, and from those experiences, I can understand and apply them to others.

Aquarius planets or Uranus aspects. I've seen it more than once with these folks. Even if theyre millionaries...they are the ultimate minimalists. Capricorn planets come to mind as well.

i have no aqua planets but it is my 4th house. uranus is very weak in my chart. only minor aspects. it is a singleton tho as iv mentioned a few times before. sometimes i want to tear down things and rebuild them. sometimes they are just left torn down lol!

interesting and i forgot to touch on that subject too. i don't attach any sentimental value to things. i do know cancer placements can do that. maybe even the other 2 water signs. i don't keep cards, letters, pictures so much.

I save EVERY card, letter, picture, etc. unless I have a major falling out with someone and it's so bad that I will not reconcile ever with that person. However, very few people fall into that category.

I have cards from when I was a year old. I even have some cards that were sent to my parents when I was born.

I am always ecstatic to receive handwritten letters from people that I like, though it doesn't happen often. Long emails are also good.

I feel really, really happy when I pick out a gift for someone and he/she really likes it. I have an uncanny ability to do well in this area. I had a really cool experience lately when I bought someone something and, completely unknown to me, it had HUGE emotional significance and sentimental value (in a good way). It was really awesome! I also have sometimes bought people something that they had been wanting, without having any idea that they had been wanting it.

I also really enjoy hand-writing thank you notes; it's a true joy for me.

so if it is a bad memory you throw that thing away? kinda like eternal sunshine of the spotless mind erasing memories?

think i do the same. maybe it is fixed sign thing and i don't want to be reminded of that person. like they are dead to me or something. found this in a reading for taurus decor. hmm...

quote:
Use pictures of loved ones as knickknacks and photos of friends on the walls and shelves to remind you of those you love and who love you. You respond to the most basic of things, love, and you can remind yourself of great times and people in your life that inspire you in this way. Try framing all your photos in wooden frames or frames of color that are earth tones to dial down the drama and show off the more loving of your times in life. Knickknacks that remind you of loved ones are great for you and things your children or loved ones have given you give you a feeling of calm. Make sure all of your knick knacks give you good energy and are not connected with stressful times and edit them according to how your life is going and what is relevant to you at the time. Don’t remind yourself of friendship or loss with what you have on your walls and shelves, remind yourself of being with loved ones and those that share with you and lose the object associated with loss or pain in any way.

i also have this maybe a tad narcissistic notion that i want to be ground zero. no heirlooms. no living in houses passed down from 3-4 generations. no talking of heritage or who came before me hehehe! perhaps silly yes? i think it is pluto/uranus and my north node in gemini.

quote:
PHASE 68 (GEMINI 8°): AROUSED STRIKERS SURROUND A FACTORY.

KEYNOTE: The disruptive power of the ambitious mind upon the organic wholeness of human relationship.

We are dealing in this sequence of symbols with man's discovery of the new powers residing in his special contribution to the total organism of this planet Earth — his consciousness and aggressive mind. The first stage (Phase 66) dealt with oil, the typical form of energy which the modern mind has made available. (These symbols were revealed before atomic energy was even thought of as a practical possibility.) Now we see in this new symbol a pictorial indication of what the use of this intellect-generated energy inevitably leads to: industrial unrest and violence. As man manages to rape the earth in order to demonstrate his power and intensify his pleasures and his sense of proud mastery, conflicts and disruptive processes are inevitably initiated.

The arousal is presented to us here in its collective social form because we have reached the emotional-cultural level. The type of power generated by the analytical intellectual faculties is essentially disruptive; it is based on the destruction of matter, and invites egocentric hoarding and spoliation — and, in general, privileges of one kind or another. This leads to a REVOLT AGAINST PRIVILEGES.

i know u cancer influnced peeps do that. my mom has cancer rising, pisces sun and moon. triple water and cancer dominant lol. she keeps everything even if she has a 2nd house uranus like me. are your parents cancer/ water influenced as well?

i hand write thank you notes too! kinda hard to type it up lol! but it is coz i hate using the telephone. i know weird.

my birfday is in may btw! just kidding! i think i am great at gifts too but not really the sentimental heart felt kind. my cancer placement is the MC. so i am more in tune with the collective. u have moon in h10 then coz i think i remember u as a libra rising tho there are really alot of libra risings here.. i think..
