Ever since I met this woman who was a Taurus with a Scorpio moon and had bipolar disorder, I realized my mom is an Aries with a Libra moon, I know a guy who's a Leo with an Aquarius moon too and some others. I'm not saying my mom or the Leo have bipolar disorder but I do wonder what kind of effect opposite sun and moon has on the personality.

My husband has a Gemini Sun and Saggi Moon, but he doesn't seem any more bipolar than any other Gemini Sun's I've known

No but I wonder is that duality Gemini is known for exaggerated with his Sag moon? Patti Stanger (Millionaire Matchmaker) is a Gemini with a Sag moon. She says she's quiet in her downtime and not this loudmouth, I believe her but she's made me fear most Gem/Sag combos considering her mouth and temper and most of all... bluntness.

Being bipolar is a disorder, hence not a term to use lightly when characterizing people. You need a psychiatrist diagnosis before you can claim anyone as dipolar.

In the meantime, Sun-Moon opposition usually makes someone insecure because their core energy and who they are (Sun) may well be at odds with their emotional make-up (Moon). This may manifest in various different ways depending on the rest of the chart.

Hm.

I'd say that he has very different sides of himself that come out for different circumstances (very patient and caring on the home front or when circumstances otherwise dictate...but don't engage him in a political debate or on his professional expertise unless you'd like a highly intellectual knock-down), but the moods aren't as variable as I'd assign to bipolar disorder.

But, then again, I'm a Pisces Sun - maybe the moods are there but I think they're normal

I am a taurus sun and scorpio moon (but they don't aspect each other). I find that my sun and moon are actually rather in harmony with each other believe it or not. Different, but some how their energies have learned over time to work really well with each other.

My mom says I can have 2 personalities at times, which I can sort of see. When I am hurting, I get very snappy with people who try to push their way in to help too much when I don't want it. I assume that to be my moon. As opposed to my sun which just wants placid tranquil environments.

I didn't claim anyone was (except the Taurus/Scorpio, which is fact and not my assumption) I just asked if that combination is more likely to produce someone who was.

Okay, so not bipolar obviously like you said but a push-pull thing going on. I wonder what it feels like to be at odds with your emotional make-up. You mean they feel one way but do the complete opposite?

I once had a Cap boss with Virgo Moon and people said she's "tri-polar."

I'd imagine someone with Sun-Moon opposition would have learned to handle those internal extremes better.

That combo makes sense for her. She is really outspoken. But Neil Patrick Harris has that same combo and he's the nicest guy. He has the same Gemini wit and Sadge outspokenness, but he never comes off as rude.

Anyways, I happen to know a lot of people with this combination. Many relatives on my dad's side have this, including my Dad. He's an Aries with a Libra Moon.

In my experience, Sun-Moon opposition people really embody one sign over the other. My dad's very Libra. There are some traces of Aries, of course, but his Moon really overpowers it (also because it's his chart ruler).

I also have two cousins who are Scorpio Sun with a Taurus Moon. One is my first cousin and the other is my second. They're mother and son; talk about karmic! Again, they are more Taurean than Scorpionic in my observation. They have that intensity about them, but it's not really brooding or seething. They also prefer the simpler things and the pleasant side of life and can dig deep, but find it too complicating.

Life seems to be all about the balancing act for them and I guess you can tell how mature and self-aware a Sun opposite Moon person is by how much they can own and express both their luminaries.
