Well, I must say that it has taken a while for me to get used to my ascendant sign being in Taurus.

I guess, with all the confusion sorrounding my birthtime and the unglamorous image potrayed by librarising.com of the Taurus Asc,who would want to claim(wholeheartedly) such a dull rising sign?

But I have come to appreciate this ascendant and observed my personality in conjunction to it and I must say it has, more than the Sun sign, become a very important and a definitive personality overview.

The one thing that I have always apprecaited about my ascendant sign is its uncomplicated, down-to earth appeal.

And I have also appreciated the peace and serenity its afforded me in trying times:Something that I think ,without which, my restless sun in Sagittarius and self-conscious Moon in Cancer would have taken longer to reach.

So, I was wondering how other fellow Taurus ascendants feel about their rising sign and whether its influence is felt above and beyond their sun/moon sign.

it doesn't make much sense to me why this rising would be less attractive than a sun in taurus.

iv had a taurus rising partner but she looked her sun in virgo. moon was also in taurus. libra venus.

I don't have a Taurus Asc, but I'm married to someone who does

As with you, it (and a few other bits and pieces of his chart) really act to give some grounding to his Gemini Sun, Saggi Moon, and Mars/Venus conj. in Aries.

I rather like it, personally

(But, then, I think it may play nicely with my Scorp Asc and Venus in Taurus )

ive learned to really like my taurus rising. i think when i first started learning about astrology i was a bit disappointed because i was expecting myself to have some air or water or something but i ended up finding that i had a taurus rising and a virgo moon. and neither are very exciting to read about at times. so considering that im a libra and my suns conjunct mars and my taurus rising aspects neptune at 0 degrees, jupiter as well, including pluto, saturn, uranus and my moon and venus haha its sort of a "no wonder" i had a hard time relating to my earth sign rising and moon because they were so altered by all these planets. im not as responsible and practical as so many earth sign interpretations are lead to be and a lot more quirky thats for sure. my enormous 7 planet t-sqaure makes me far from predictable.

i think with my double venus influence of taurus rising and libra sun, my artistic tastes are definitely strong, but i also think that taurus makes me a lot more possessive than i want to be at times. i also think it contributes to my temper as well haha. but theres no doubt at certain times i am as "stubborn as a bull" and when i want something i want it ASAP and ill do whatever i can to get it. but im also really easy going, sometimes too much so, and i think the double venus contributes repressed feelings because not wanting to mess up my equilibrium.

ive noticed with taurus in general, including cancer, that food is LOVED! n i looooove food. im always so grateful that i grew up in a nation that has a bountiful amount of food and options. i do do things out of habit or comfort, like eating the same foods, or going through a repetitive routine

my venus is in scorpio conjunct pluto opposing the asc so i might be a little bit more intense relationship wise than the typical taurus rising.. not to say they aren't already pretty smoldering at times.

Well first off I'm too slooow. If I could manage to follow, I'd probably have a diploma by now, like most of my peers. I always act too late, procrastinate to the point when the shi is about to hit the fan.

I would say it's a bit unfortunate venus is in pisces (coming under neptune transit this year!!), as it makes me too sensitive and along with one of the worst saturn influences one can have (sun, moon in cap, moon conjunct saturn also neptune and uranus), so I'm pretty much depressed for life. An exact Neptune trine Asc also intensifies senses and helps not.

Other than that, my life seems to flow calmly, no great upsets, with a feeling that I'm always moving forward, upward, wherever. Slowly but surely. I like good food and candies. When i was a kid, some old lady from neighborhood gave me a candy-like nickname, cause i was always bothering her for some .

@BeholdAstarte
I've got ASC opposition Pluto too. Did all the bad things intepretations mention happen to you? (manipulations, power struggles, possesivenes, bullying, yada yada...)

There is lots to like about taurus rising. It is not all about chomping grass in the meadow and being slow and dependable.

For a start, Taurus rising can be very attractive with beautiful dark rimmed eyes, full lips and a sexy, sensual body. Mia Farrow has this placement which just goes to show that this asc can be delicately built, with the taurus showing up in her lovely large eyes and the look of sensual innocence in her expressions, and in her natural feminity.

Taurus rising at its best is someone who presents themselves in an unpretentious, leisurely, easygoing, relaxed manner. They exude an air of serenity, and calm. They love all the finer things in life and are highly attuned to the pleasures of the senses, and appreciate all forms of beauty especially art, music, fine food, quality literature, and beautiful clothes and jewellery. Their sensual and hedonistic qualities ensure that they are fine lovers as they really know how to savour the moment. Taurus rising women can be very seductive due to the combination of natural innocence and sensuality that they possess. They often also have an attractive, slow, melodious voice and it is suprising how captivating this can be. The charm, graciousness, tact, gentleness and easygoing nature of taurus rising usually ensures longlasting, enjoyable and loyal friendships and relationships. Just because taurus rising likes doing things at a pace that suits them (which can be leisurely if they feel like taking the time to smell the roses) and don't appreciate being pushed around by others (stubborn) does not mean they are slow or lazy. In fact they can be very hard workers and rarely give up easily. They are not unimaginative either...with their love of all things beautiful, pleasurable, hedonistic, luxurious, sensual and venusian you can be sure there is plenty to fire up their imaginations.

Oooh! Yeah, Taurus ASC here. I remember when someone first told me I had a Taurus ASC. My reaction was "They lied at the hospital!!" I was in total denial! I didn't want to be a Taurus for anything. All the Taurus people I knew at that point were a bunch of narrow-minded bigots, and stubborn to the core. Ick.

Have to admit, over time, I have grown into my Taurus ASC. Not the narrow-minded bigot part. Or at least I hope not! Stubborn, yes. It seems as I grew older, more and more of the Taurus side came out. Like the love of good food and cooking, gardening and music. Maybe the Gemini Venus makes me lean heavily towards the arts in general, but a lot of Taurus love of luxury and taste is there. Just wish I could afford my taste level. LOL!

The good part about Taurus ASC seems to be a calming influence to others. At least I get told that. It's easy to release a kind of gentle quiet that if others are able to tune in to, they do tend to like.

One of the most beautfiul women I know is a Cancer with Taurus Rising.
I don't believe in the notion that beauty can be determined by the sign the ASC is in.
And as for LibraRising...well, sometimes it's a practical site if you want to look common features up but I wouldn't trust them- they put everyone who they percieve as beautiful in either the Libra Rising category (which puts most of the beautiful Virgo and Scorpio Rising women in the Libra Rising category even though they have no business being there). If not near enough to be a Libra ASC the Rising sign is changed to a 'masculine' sign because it fits with their prejudice that only masculine ASC can be beautiful.

Some ASC in Taurus women:

Rita Hayworth (of course LibraRising put her into the Gemini Rising category)

Claudia Cardinale

Vivien Leigh (also Gem asc on librarising)

Mia Farrow

Elle Macpherson

There is no need to feel bad about this Rising Sign at all!
