I'm always getting told I'm too defensive, I'm intimidating, I'm stubborn (well, I'll concede about the stubbornness) but it's often enough that I'm really at a loss as to why people see me this way. Yes, I am quiet at first but I'm shy. Nobody wants to hear this from me for some reason when I try to explain "No, I'm not intimidating." It's to the point now where I'm often ignored or left out of things and yet people are nice to me when we talk. They're friendly, but I never get invited anywhere.

Is there anything in my chart that would explain this? I decided I'm switching to whole signs for the most part just in case you've seen my chart before and it looks different.

I want to know your sign and what would intimidate you about someone!

Do you also feel like you have to not only talk more, but talk even more than most for people to finally say you're not introverted? I don't test that theory often but when I do that's what it takes. It's annoying. It's kinda like "Hey, why am I going out of my way for you so much and so early on?" and yes, they do. It's a little disconcerting to think people assume things so quickly.

As for placements (by the way, I use whole signs too!):

--Aries placements. I notice that they are in the 11th house of friendship.

Are Aries known for being intimidating? I saw how there was Mars in the 1st but that's why I'm a teensy iffy about using whole signs. If I really had Mars in the 1st, you'd think I'd be a skinny minnie.

quote:
--Sagittarius 7th house, the house of relationships/partnerships. Sagittarians can sometimes be intimidating due to their absence of a filter (I have a Sag asc and two Sag parents plus am surrounded by other Sags too; know this from experience!), their bluntness, and their no-holds-barred style. While the honesty can be refreshing, it can also be scary too.

That's true in a way. I've been called mean many times and had to explain myself. I wonder if the Aries-Gemini combination kind of produces a Sagittarius result? My style of communication varies, especially if I'm in a mood. If I'm worried or stressed or rushed I know I can sound harsher than I mean to but I really thought people would understand that, just common sense wise you know? I've been around Sags and have definitely seen the lack of filter though!

--Here's an article about the 11th house, since this is where your sun/Aries placements are:

Thank you, I'll have to read it!

--I notice that you have a North Node of Pisces. Do you act like a Virgo at times, especially in how you go about solving issues between yourself and others, or in how you go about dealing with what you want in life? Virgos can be very critical, and if people pick up on this, it can be intimidating.

See, is North Node and Midheaven the same thing? And yes... *hangs head* others would call me very critical. I didn't think a critical person was intimidating though, and I'm not critical in a harsh way very often. People don't mind laughing when I'm telling stories of this and that, that might be considered critical. I don't really understand the way NN and SN works. Some say it's past/present lives, others say you're supposed to work towards acting a certain way.

I guess I don't understand why other people find it so shocking when I get defensive. They're hurting my feelings = me getting defensive. Isn't that the way it works?

Just skimmed the article - that's so true! When people are honest without hesitation, I do feel comfortable. I also didn't realize the 11th house wasn't permanent friendships but more what we're comfortable with/around. I found it interesting she mentioned houses 4, 5, and 8 were intimate partnerships and I have allll that Capricorn energy weighing down the 8th house.

Mars in the 1st might be intimidating, though, as Mars is the planet of war and aggression and all.

There has to be a way to curb it! I feel like all the men I meet are Beauty, and I'm the Beast when it should be the other way around.

North Node is not the same as the midheaven.

Oh. I still think my Midheaven is in Pisces though, right?

quote:
As for nodes:

I personally do not believe in past lives. I interpret the south node (which is always the opposite sign of your north node) as representing past patterns (which is another interpretation). (Molly's Astrology--one of the links posted--also calls the south node an area of "great talent"). The south node represents your true desires and what you want in life, plus, as I said, past patterns. The north node--the opposite sign of the south node, always--is how you should go about getting what you want. It's about balancing opposites to achieve happiness and fulfillment in life.

To use mine as an example: I have north node Aries, which puts my south node in Libra. (Incidentally, I have my midheaven, Mercury, and sun in Libra too--this has been described as "Libra on steroids"). My deep desire is for close relationships/partnerships. My past pattern of trying to get them has been very Libra-like: people-pleasing, accommodating, compliments, etc. It hasn't worked. So, what I have to work towards (and am currently doing this) is acting more like Aries to get the relationships that I want: less over-thinking, more assertive (though not going too far into aggression), more confident.[/b]

I don't know if I do or not. For one, my best friend told me she had a dream of me riding horses as part of a royal family in London, and a couple weeks later a Psychic told me I used to be part of a very wealthy line - in England. And I've always been drawn to England, always. There's also a video on YouTube I watched of a 5 year old boy who remembers a previous life. He describes the house, the family, details only someone who lived there would know BUT here's the catch. He claims they (him included) lived there in the 70s. I'm not saying all this to be like "This is why you should believe in past lives!" I just thought they were interesting occurrences.

Okay, so my South Node is in Virgo but I need to be more Piscean like. That scares me though! I've only ever seen Piscean women take a lot of crap from people they don't need to take crap from. I suppose it means be more intuitive and less critical? Be more daydreamy? Gentle comes to mind. I'm not very gentle. It's so hard to be gentle when you have Sun AND Mercury in Aries!

i get the same thing, people keep their distance from me, i'm a scorpio ascendant and i'm told i give people some pretty mean faces when i really don't mean to.
looks like having mars in the 1st house is what it is. even when you aren't saying anything, your body language, your demeanor comes off as too aggresive to people. they probably think you are doing it on purpose to intimidate them(because that's something that a lot of people like to do-on purpose that is). they think thats you and are scared of you. COWARDS! lol. you should try doing more to reassess their feelings about you, like making sure they know everything is cool between you and them. you should try living in oceanview, you would really fit in there. straight gangster.

btw i'm an aries and i don't get intimidated by people, i just get angry.

@King - I get the mean faces thing too! It's annoying because I seriously have no idea what they're talking about half the time. I also think people are overly sensitive and they'll look at someone who isn't smiling hunky-dory 24/7 and be like "You're meaaaan, wah wah wah."

Not sure what it is in your case but I have Pluto in the 1st and used to get "Smile!" from annoying older guys when I was young.

This is just my impression - I think Aries and Leo people are sometimes so HAPPY in their own skin that others are not sure how to interpret that.
Everyone else has some sort of 'problem' happening... and some people think you are faking the overall energy/happiness... while others think you must be like a childish bratty moron to be so happy in such an obviously ugly world.
It could be because Aries is the sign of the infant.

Another thing about Aries is - it is a very anti-social Sun Sign (being opposite Libra).. This is not in the sense that they (we..) don't have friends or talk to people etc (I've met both talkative and quiet Ariens) - but in the sense that they never ever *ever* play by social rules.. And this is very much intentional (not accidental).
For some people being around someone who shuns social norms - can be a very scary experience.

I remember once being at the hairdressers and this little girl went up to one of the hairdressers and said "MUMMY!!! MUMMY!!! that lady sti*nks*" and *pointed* O_O

If you take the "stinks" to be a metaphor for "there's something fishy about them"..... then it definitely fits Aries.
Because if there is something fishy about anyone - Aries will know and they won't keep it a secret either. This is the intimidating part.
Actually - in my experience - it's people who have something 'creepy' to hide about themselves who are most intimidated.
