For the past two years I have been considering ordaining as a Buddhist monk. A majority of those years have been spent visiting monasteries and practicing on my own, to prepare and find the best spot for me to ordain. I have a great feeling about the monastery I will be visiting in April, but ran into a bit of a frustration.

Originally I had planned to stay at the monastery this month, but when I called I found they were booked until March. The Abbot leaves the monastery through most of march, so the best available date was in April.

I generally like to let things unfold without looking at astrology, but I found myself looking at the date of my visit last night. That is when I discovered, both times I have gone to stay at a monastery, it happened while the Sun was transiting my natal SN/Eris conjunction. My natal SN is in Aries H12, which to me means isolation and self-focus is a pattern which does not serve my karmic growth. My aspirations for becoming a monk are to eventually be of service to others.

Anyone else have a similar experience with tSun conj SN, and willing to share?

Thanks

I have the opposite of you! -south node in Libra in my seventh, aries NN in first.

I had to think about it but, yes yes it's true. Part of this past semester I did start feeling more co-dependant and partnery and I couldn't figure out why.. Sun was on my SN then! It wasn't only when it was exactly conjunct but that was the strongest period.. I am very sensitive to lunar activity, it makes sense that I would respond to the nodes as well.

Nice observation!

The Sun conjuncts my SN at the same time every year, so in mid-March every year I do something "evil." (SN holds you back)

I think you would get more replies if you posted your chart. Personally, I don't find much use for transiting sun, it's too fast..

i run charts for everything significant that happens. every single time one of the angles is conjunct a key/relevant planet, tightly, usually exact. and the angles move much faster than the sun!

i'm also very sensitive to the lunar cycle..

i'm trying to think about when sun transited my SN but nothing is coming to mind. i'll watch for it this year. anyway, my SN is pisces so i, like you, feel inclined toward the ascetic life but i also instinctively feel it is not on-path for me. although i am an introvert and quiet time to myself to contemplate does recharge me. serving others is a great way to channel that energy and will be much more fulfilling to you.
