It's probably the worst moon placement, in my opinion. I have it in my 8th house. Can anyone tell me more about it?

Would you say that you have low self-esteem?

I mean usually when I look at my chart I'm OK with what's there. Every single placement has the potential to be positive or negative depending on what you do with it, including the Cap Moon - which I also have.
So I don't usually feel like bemoaning any particular placement.

Your Mercury is probably opposite my Jupiter - I just bet it is... lol Just the way you expressed the thread starting sentence.... That Virgo Merc criticism reallllly drives me bonkers sometimes - no offence!
But you know, occasionally - it's good to look on the bright side of life as well.. And to develop some inner strength and self-love for who you are *overall*.. instead criticising yourself to death

For instance - as newbie on an astrology forum... why not start a thread about something positive in your chart? I'm just curious... Why would you particularly choose to begin your LL 'experience' with this kind of negativity about how much you dislike your Moon sign and how it's the worst placement?
I am only asking because --- This kind of self-loathing is something I can never understand in people.

I agree with Betty Boop. I have a Scorpio Moon and everyone knows what kind of reputation we have and how we're the 'fallen' Moons, etc. But, it's really about how much you buy into that.

I think the concept of detriment/fall/dignity can get to be destructive if people take it too seriously or literally. All it means is that what that planet traditionally represents is subverted when in this seemingly 'negative' sign.

The Scorpio sting is considered uncomfortable placed in the comfort-loving sign of the Moon. The Moon's supposed to be the safe zone while Scorpio feels there is no safe zone. I've struggled with this feeling but instead of victimizing myself and having dramatic pity parties (which I do have a flair for, I am a Leo), I have been learning to take the potential negatives and turn them into positives. If Scorpio Moon feels there is no safe zone, then that could breed an extraordinary amount of courage: the ability to take risks and be brave because one is often going to end up hurt anyway, so you might as well face it than run from it.

So, think of your Capricorn Moon in that similar manner, virgolotus. Capricorn can be austere and strictly self-disciplined, in contrast to the ever-flowing, soft qualities of the Moon. This might lead to depression or a negative outlook. However, you can turn the negative into a positive by applying your self-discipline to confront harsh circumstances. I think Capricorn Moons can use that awareness of the bleak side of life to adjust very quickly when things get hard (because you're used to the hardships) while also trying to remain thankful when things get easy (and not craving difficult situations).

As it so happens, my older half-sister has the Capricorn Moon placement. We both have the same mother, and both of the 'difficult' Moon placements, so I've realized that says quite a bit about her...

Anyway, my sister can be distant and hard to reach, sometimes downright cold emotionally. I can tell she gets depressed or at least melancholy a lot. She hides it well beneath the Leo extroversion, but it's just in that very resigned tone she often speaks in. I think she's very attached to my mom, in an unhealthy way. I don't know her Rising but I'm guessing her Moon is angular (possibly on the AC or DC).

My Moon is too (on the MC)and I used to be deeply attached to Mom too in an unhealthy way. Then I realized how much damage she was doing to me, psychologically, and I've severed the umblicial cord, so to speak. My sister hasn't though. I think she's sort of in denial about who my Mom is.

I have to agree with the others here. There is no worst placement, its what you do with it.

Capricorn is ambitious and strong willed. If there is something you don't like about yourself, work to make it better.

I think part of the reason we are here on earth is to work to be the best person we can be.

I have a Capricorn moon and yes, it is tough to handle, but there are loads of benefits:

1. You stay calm during emergencies. While everyone else is panicking and wondering what to do, you are already assessing the situation and formulating a plan of action.

2. You're very loyal and other people see you as a rock to lean on during difficult times

3. You're responsible and mature with wisdom beyond your years

4. You give people advice (if asked) that they actually find useful. You probably won't be known as a nurturer, but you also won't be guilty of babying others. You tell it like it is and prefer to give practical down-to-earth advice.

5. A Capricorn moon gives you strong organizational and leadership skills

6. Since you come across as mature, people take you more seriously.

7. You can be quite intuitive and read people well

8. You aren't at the mercy of your emotions so you can think more rationally. Of course, being completely rational may not always work well in situations that require you to express your emotions

Thanks everyone for all that feedback! I have been reading more into Capricorn moon and came to actually love it. I just hate not knowing how to express my emotions naturally that's the only thing that bugged me.

My best friend has her moon in Capricorn and because she doesn't openly display emotions, I have trouble telling how she's feeling sometimes. She's pessimistic most of the time, but she accepts everything in a resigned but cheerful manner. She's amazingly self-disciplined and it's amazing how easily she can separate emotions from facts.

Funny, I didn't realize she had mother issues until I read this thread.
