I was just reading something on another board, about planets conjunct the south node. One woman seems to think that a planet conjunct the South Node, creates problems with the expression of the planet, but someone else says that the planet(s) are strengths that you possess on your life path, to get to your North Node and your life/lessons there.

I have Moon/Venus conjunct South Node, and was very outgoing and kind as a child (also kind as an adult, but not outgoing). Problems in the home, with a grandmother, and two men (at least, at different times, including violence), as well as bullying, threw me off. I have Mars in Pisces in the 4th, square those planets and nodes...

I also remember reading years ago, that Rahu (North Node) was lucky and Ketu (South Node) was unlucky. I can't say that's entirely true, because I've been really lucky otherwise, with my parents and my sister, and people tend to like me... but I tend to not find that out for quite a while, either due to my own shyness, or other people causing trouble. My confidence was flipped, and I still have trouble trusting, even though I'm sure there are good people wanting to know me better. I've also had bad lucky with men, but I knew a few real gems (not Gemini's, just gems) in school. It does seem that I get hit with bad luck in those areas, though, where as a former member had planets conjunct her NN, and she seemed to be lucky in ways, and admitted as such, but she also seemed incredibly smart and hard-working, so her confidence was most likely a part of that.

Sorry for this last part being confusing... I tend to write as I'm thinking/processing stuff in my head.

How do you think the planets aspecting your nodes, have played a part in the development (or lack thereof) of that axis? I think that my Mars square also plays into the fact that my family is supportive of me, and has helped me a lot.

Do you think you've had more good or bad luck, and how much do you think your own confidence (or, again, the lack thereof), contributed?

Thanks.

My North Node is Sadge, and I end up surrounded by the women. No complaints here, since they're hilarious, inspiring, and really good company. I worry more about bringing them down. I don't know many Gemini's, and I tend to not get along with them (women). I don't badmouth the sign, though - I just had bad experiences with three of them. My grandmother, my cousin and a neighbour.

i think squares to your nodes are supposed to be good since they square BOTH nodes and are sort of a mediator (midpoint).

i don't have anything on my SN but i do have saturn cj NN. i'm not sure how it works except that my entire life has been of survival/discipline. i think i was a raving alcoholic a-hole in my past life which is why i cannot tolerate alcohol in this life and why 90% of my family is alcoholic and chaotic. well that is one theory!

i don't really know about luck and the nodes either. my POF conjuncts my NN exactly though so if it's true, i suppose i get a boost there! south node relationships have always been familiar and initially comfy but icky for me, yeah. i think it's pretty normal to be sort of 'turned off' by people on your SN and i think it's just your soul trying to keep you on a path of growth!

That's really interesting! I have Venus conjunct my NN exact and Saturn loosely conjunct my SN. Jupiter (my chart ruler!) forms a t-square with Saturn and Venus, and my nodes apparently.

I have some confidence issues and I think they're tied to my Saturn, which in turn is tied to my SN. I think if I trust more in my Jupiter in Aqua and stop trying to hold it back with Saturn I will be rewarded with better luck. Or something like that. I'm exhausticated and can't think 100% clearly at the moment.

All depends on which planets conj SN, whether a malific like an outer..... Saturn, Uranus, neptune and pluto.

SN is the comfort zone but we need to overcome this and reach for new vistas, horizons and Lessons....
