Does any one have much info on Parallels and Contra Parallels? I know the basic's that the energy is like a conjunction/ opposition... But a little bit easier to deal with... Has anyone really studied them and found this to be accurate? Have you ever had a relationship with alot of them? I have also read that they are "hidden" aspects... Possibly the real meaning behind everything.. I went through all mine with fishy... IDK what to think of them though... If any one wants to share their parallel stories.. Or if you see anything that jumps out let me know... I kept my orb tight all under 1 orb... there are more at 1 orb or just over, but these are the ones under 1 orb CHIRON CP PLUTO 0.22 CHIRON CP MERCURY 0.85 CHIRON P SATURN 0.87 NN P VENUS 0.21 PLUTO CP MARS 0.05 PLUTO CP MOON 0.91 SATURN CP NEPTUNE 0.19 SATURN P JUPITER 0.83 SATURN CP VENUS 0.85 MARS CP MARS 0.85 MERC P CHIRON 0.20 MOON CP MARS 0.12 MOON P MOON 0.74 SUN CP MOON 0.31 NN CP JUPITER 0.19 Is this common to have this many? http://cafeastrology.com/natal/declinationsparallels.html Hi, I found this link to be quite useful, although it is about natal aspects and not synastry, maybe the idea of a certain aspect can be applied to synastry... Not sure though... Hope it helps anyway!!

Hey Lioness!Did you calculate these out of your own head or have a program calculate it for you? I recall their being something that would do the work for you but now I can't remember. My SO's moon is parallel my sun which is also a 4d orb of a semisextile IP: Logged |

I used a calculator... Cuz my math sux eggs.. LOL for example my pluto is at 14'30N his moon is at 15'21S so I did 15.21 - 14.30 = 0.91 Since my is N and his is S.. its on opposite sides, so its CP each other MY Pluto CP His Moon IP: Logged |

The influence is much like a conjunction” http://astrology.findyourfate.com/ Contraparallel : An aspect formed when two planets are in opposite declination, that is, when they are the same distance from the celestial equator, one north of it and one south. Generally considered to operate like an opposition. http://www2.bitstream.net/~bunlion/bpi/Glossary.html#C “CONTRA-PARALLEL: Two or more planets that are equal distant from the celestial equator, with one stellar body being north in declination and the other body being south. The influence is considered to be much like a opposition, although some consider similar to the conjunction.” http://astrology.findyourfate.com/ You can get these free from astro.com when you get your chart go to top left just above chart, see option. What to look for are when there is no aspect natally but a parallel in declination View the additional tables (PDF) Further research on AW http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/showthread.php?t=27800&highlight=parallels http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/showthread.php?t=41034&highlight=parallels http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/showthread.php?t=36573&highlight=parallels

I was asking for something that would calculate it for synastry. His moon is 17d sag vs my 12d sun so I know of the top of my head to be a parallel which is like a weak conjunction. I wasn't try to do all the legwork...I was feeling lazy. Lol I feel they are strong connections in the chart especially if there is an aspect there. At sometimes wonder why we are so comfortable with each other but add the fact that my sun conjuncts his sun/moon MP, it makes for a very comfortable relationship. IP: Logged |

Parallels are like those a-ha moments....it doesn't make sense in the synastry chart but the Contra/parallels will definitely reaffirm it. IP: Logged |

@Capy you have to check the declination on the PDF form to see if they are parallel or not.. IP: Logged |

@SaggiMCI recognize your style from the other place Welcome to LL!!! I understand parallels and what they stand for... I just cant get a grip on the more personal meanings behind them.. I know they are like conjunctions/oppositions but not as strong... Im wondering more of the differences between the two.. Im wondering about personal experiences.. Those things you just cant really find on the net. IP: Logged |

So I took a look at the parallels....we have: moon p.jupiter- moon trine jupiter in synastry we feel comfortable with each other, at ease. like we have known each other forever it seems. mercury (7th house ruler) p.mercury (5th house ruler) pluto cp sun- power struggles within our egos. we have pluto square sun in synastry= pluto p.moon- we have a moon sextile pluto in synastry. intense emotions, when we argue we can blow the roof off the house but when we love each other, it's very consuming emotionally and physically. pluto p. venus- we have venus trine pluto in synastry. yeah it gets hot sometimes, but it feels so natural. juno p. sun, moon, saturn, neptune & pluto- I guess we have what it takes to be committed to each other but then according to Magi, it would be all about sex. his juno conjuncts my mercury. moon cp moon- already reinforces the opposition that we have. sometimes we don't see eye to eye but it does create a healthy balance at time. asc. p. moon sun p. merc saturn p. moon- we have moon trine saturn in synastry. emotional bond, we can count on each other. chiron p. mars- emotional attachment & committment to each other from what I found on the net.
