I'm just curious: what is your focus in astrology, and for what purpose are you most interested in studying it and using it?For me, I am most interested in learning about myself and others--in the inner workings of people. I'm also very much interested in synastry and in bringing people together/using it to help people understand themselves as well as each other, and to thus come closer together. I'm most interested in planets-in-signs, ascendants, and planets-in-houses; more recently, I've become interested in nodes and am starting to become interested in configurations (e.g., t-squares, grand trines, etc) and also the MC. Seeing how the energy of a planet plays out in a sign and in a house is something that fascinates me. And, as I said, I am interested in synastry, so I am always curious to see how the charts of two people play out and how all of those placements interact with each other in the relationship. I am most interested in how astrology seems to manifest in reality. I am drawn to the underlying elementary particles which make up the greater parts (Moon in Virgo), like Elements, Qualities, Dignities, Decans, Duads, etc. I also love understanding the overlaying archetypes (Sun in Sagittarius) within each planetary, zodiacal, house, seasonal, and harmonic dynamic. Because I have a math allergy, it took a long while for me to get into aspects, but I have found a love for aspects and their patterns along with everything else.My favorite astrological past time is studying patterns and how individual systems in astrology, facilitate the co-arising of all other systems (e.g. The sol-lunar cycle of growing and receding interplay between darkness/light, reflected in our earth's seasonal system as the growing and receding interplay of warmth and cold, life and death, etc.). Xiiro, that is all so sagittarian. I have lots of jupiter and 9th house placements so i would understand. But my motivation is in finding the meaning that connects astrology with the true meaning of life. i focus less on the small things that make it work and more on its overall theme and how it can apply to our reality by solving many of the major pieces to the life puzzle. quote: For me, I am most interested in learning about myself and others--in the inner workings of people. - Rising Sign, and everything connected to Asc.
- MC and planets conjuncting it (2 degree orb)
- Outer Planets (especially conjunctions to personal planets)
Those are my primary fields of interest. But,I get some quirks all the time, right now I am researching on Mercury Every inquiry begins and ends in obsession,I love mental adventures,learning,discovering...
eta- Btw,I am somebody who says that I am not obsessive by nature It is really hard to tell, whether it's an obsession or addiction

What got me interested is sun signs (horoscope) but I benefited a lot from a certain branch which is fascinating for me. It also got me to learn a little bit on houses too. There are some greater truths eluding me so I'm constantly looking out for more to learn or discover.IP: Logged |

Karmic Astrology and past life connections.I originally learned Astrology because I wanted to understand why people who obviously had issues with each other, stayed together and what drew them together in the first place. It's that thin line between love and hate. IP: Logged |

A lifetime ago it would have been relationships, but now that I'm done with that. The focus has shifted to career but for me, the more I learn about astrology the more complicated it gets. And it is interesting to look at other people's charts to see if there's anything I might understand but mostly it's just so complex. Each birthchart really is so unique, down to the aspects and planetary transit influences. It's definitely a science. And I was never good at science. IP: Logged |

Hello MC2012 If you are interested in Karma and past life connections a great place to start would be with anything by Martin Schulman. http://karmicastrology.classiclegendbooks.com/index.html IP: Logged |

Learning about synastry has been a godsend to me; I have Venus conjunct Neptune and, to make a potentially long chart description mercifully short...I am unrealistic and hypersensitive. This way, I can blame problems on the stars instead of taking the blame for everything all the time. Also I just want to know the elemental, bare-bones truth about existence. I love when astrological predictions prove accurate. Also, with my mercury in Aquarius, I like puzzles for their own sake. Best wishes, thanks for this interesting thread!
