Virgo Sun By amiannVirgo is mutable earth. Mercury co-rules Gemini and Virgo. Mercury fits for Gemini, but not Virgo, in my opinion. That means that Virgo’s ruler is yet to be discovered. I think it may be Chiron. Hold the tomatoes. One is allowed to have an educated opinion, is one not? Virgo seems like a sad sign. It seems like it has that added dose of “je ne sais quoi” and not in a good way. It has an ineffable sadness, a yearning. It seems as if it does not fit in it’s own skin. Virgo rules the 6th house. That is why some experts put Chiron as Virgo’s ruler. The 6th house can have quite a bit of pain inherent. It rules health. As such, it rules health woes i.e. illness. One shudders when the Ruler of the 6th House has afflictions, as one fears for one’s health. Virgo has been known to be a hypochondriac. On the positive Virgo rules selfless service. Virgo professions are the nurse and the teacher: selfless helpers. If you need a hand, chances are Virgo will be the first sign to lend one.It is in the Virgo DNA to serve. I mean this in the best possible way. Virgo is mutable, as is Sag and Gemini. Virgo is mutable earth. Mutable signs may suffer from a weaker sense of self. Cardinal signs are leaders. Fixed signs are stubborn. Mutable signs “go with the flow” which can be good or bad, depending. Astrology is about balance. One wants some mutable signs, but some cardinal and fixed, as well. Virgo is an earth sign. His trademark is persistent attention to details. I would bet there are more OCD Virgo’s than any other sign. Virgos make wonderful accountants and secretaries. If attention to detail is needed, Virgo feels at home. A Virgo Sun will help you deal with the details of life. He will lend an ear, heart or a hand. His word is his bond, as he takes service, seriously. You could do worse, all you flighty signs. Do you hear me Gemini’s and Sag’s? ------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. I recently looked at my chart with Chiron and his/her proper aspects, and I found that i have missed for such a long time lots and lots of important things, since Chiron is one of the four points of my grand cross. Being a Virgo makes it doubly super important!,Virgo is sad sometimes, like fitting completely in no place, loving affectionately but without freeing himself, knowing for certain that no one will understand him completely. That's a lie, of course, but strangely difficult to erradicate from the mind! IP: Logged |

I wouldn't call it sad, more uneasy. Only people with mild to severe cases of depression are 'sad.'IP: Logged |

mercury in virgo is in EXALTATION and is a great fit for virgo http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exaltation_(astrology) Virgo sun, asc, or moon tends to be rather quiet almost shy signs, with perfectionist tendences, but it is a *worrier* (like cancer) it can worry about health like you said it can deteriorate into hypo traits. Extremely analytical (joint first with scorpio) and make great detectives. It's very common to have cancer, virgo and leo on Ascendant as they are signs of long ascension.. Great at details, make good bankers, financiers or anywhere details need a keen eye. this can of course deteriorate into nit picking wherever they see inperfection. Due to worrying I consider this sign to be a typical stomach ulcer kind of sign. further research try here http://www.cafeastrology.com/zodiacvirgo.html

I think Virgo is the most misunderstood sign of them all. I am not sad inside...never was. I was bullied in school but I came out of it fine because I am an innerly happy and optimistic person. I don't know any Virgos with OCD or any who are obsessed with their diets. (btw if anyones interested - all the people with OCD or healthy diet obsession have been Cancers and Taurus' so far...no Virgo placements anywhere).I would be interested why you think that we Virgos are sad, Ami. It seems to be a common opinion in astrology...I'm trying to find out why. EDIT: sorry if this sounded aggressive! It's not meant to be. It's just my Mercury/Mars square kicking in.

May I take your quote and put it on my website as someone is discussing Virgo and it is a GREAT quote. *I* am an earth void so I can just look at a Virgo from the outside. I have no planets in the 6th either. I don't understand Virgos.

Wow, of course you can! I'm glad that you liked it! I think Virgos are only confusing because we are so private. And we can be whiney even though we feel just FINE. Don't let Virgos confuse you. IP: Logged |

lol, quote it as you wish, Ami. Anonymous is ok with me.Regarding your question: I'm not sure what to tell you. I'm never sure what about me is Virgo, Cancer, first house Sun or Gemini Mars. I feel that the knowledge of what a Virgo is supposed to be like was like a cage for me until I discovered all the other parts of my chart. The sign gets a lot of bad rep - just like Scorpio this sign isn't so bad after all. IP: Logged |

What makes you think that? Since when does a sun sign equate to a tragic life? IP: Logged |

Hmm...I don't think 'sad' is quite the word for it. I think it SEEMS like Virgos carry around some sadness with them because they are very keen on seeing the reality of things and simply accepting it as is (and perhaps improving it later). Whereas Pisces, their opposite sign, is all about illusion and romanticism and building everyone up around them, Virgo is more serious about seeing the truth in everyone around them. I read in an astrology book that to Virgos, truth is beauty and I think this is true. However, romanticism is far more attractive than reality, and I do believe this is why Pisces are the more favored of the two signs. I believe Virgos can be romantic, but their romance is built on loving someone or something else regardless of the reality of that person or situation(ie warts and all). I think this actually depresses some signs that need more flair and mystery to keep their ties strong. So... In other words- they all think we are killjoys. We call a spade a spade (usually). I actually really enjoy Oscar worthy dramas- because they portray emotions, love, and life REALISTICALLY even if it is somewhat depressing, instead of over the top Hollywood theatrics. I just connect to it easier. The water and air signs I know really don't understand this about me. As far as the OCD goes- honestly, I've met more Aquas and Geminis that display true OCD tendencies. I think OCD is the generalization that gets put on Virgos because they are 'perfectionistic' and 'clean' but it doesn't really translate into reality that way. To be honest, Virgos are generally very kind, honest, dutiful people. You'll find jerks in any sign, and we can be cranky and critical (among other things), but overall, I like other Virgos. They have a sweetness and a subtlety about them that many other signs don't have. IP: Logged |

The Virgos I know lead me to surmise that. C: And Sun sign doesn't equate to tragic life, oh no. I mean like, Virgos carry more of a burden, whether it's thrust upon them or they take it willingly.
