the IC? i thought that was early home life?

i was thinking some tendencies in a chart can be suppressed if it goes against one's culture like cheating, just to give an example, or divorce when it is not even offered in the legal system.

I think culture is independent of the chart.
You can have two people born in the same hospital at around the same time - who are from vastly different cultures.

My friend is Australian but she was born in Japan, while her parents were on holidays. If there were other Japanese kids born within the same -say- 15 min, in the same city... they would have a very similar chart.

I think culture does have a big impact (unfortunately)... I'm saying unfortunately because in my idealistic world I would like to say that we're all human underneath it all - and cultural differences can be overcome.
But realistically ^ this is not always the case. My background in Central European. I have tried to have relationships with Australian men and it doesn't seem to work out for me even when we have a good synastry. There's too much of a culture clash. I can be friends with anyone, but I guess I have different standards in a romantic relationship (that are very influenced by my culture).

The Gemini man I am seeing now (with the Leo Moon and Taurus Venus/Mars) is Northern European. This feels closer to home for me, although there are differences between Central & Northern EU cultures. But I really like the way he treats me personally and also - the way he treats people in general. It is not *just* his chart. I'm sure that his culture has an impact. He is much more gentlemanly.

I agree with Betty here astrology cannot tell whether your chart is royalty or a stripper to be quite blunt...

In the beginning of Liz Greene's (famous prolific author on astrology), “Astrology for Lover's” book there is a good chapter on What astrology can and can't do.
“Astrology is baffling because it works. What it's not is a way of foretelling the future, or of determining whether that tall dark stranger will turn up next week. To put it briefly the horoscope is a map of the psyche of the individual. it's a kind of blueprint, a seed plan, a model of the energies and drives which make up a person. Because it's calculated precisely for time and place, it's unique, unlike the sun sign column. Even identical twins are born at least four minutes apart, and in four minutes the picture has shifted.”

“Astrology can be used to help you in many ways. It can reveal damaging behavioral patterns or forewarn you of upcoming challenges. It can help you pinpoint latent talents you may possess and provide you with specific hints on how to best develop them. Astrology can also point out expansive, rewarding trends that are coming up and assist you in figuring out how to take advantage of them before they fade. Finally, astrology is an excellent means to determine the perfect timing for certain actions.”

“The beauty of astrology is that it will help you to always be in complete control of your life. Astrology is not fortune telling: but it is a recognition that we have free will. We know we are not controlled by the planets, but the planets do create a certain atmospheres of constriction or ease, that keeps us on our toes. Alas, you cannot blame the planets and say, for example, Saturn made me do it! The few times I have said this to an audience, most people laugh it does sound funny.”

“The planets work to help us help ourselves. By applying pressure, planets help us to overcome inertia. At other times, they help us to see unproductive or even self-destructive behavior that we may have never noticed before but that we can fix. Astrologers believe we must be accountable for our actions and to recognize that we do have choices. The study of astrology will help you sort out all your options and to act at the proper time.” http://www.cafeastrology.com/articles/whatastrologycandoforyou.html

Regardes - Those are all interesting questions. I've thought about this kind of stuff before..
From what I've seen - people with Cancer and Taurus placements (personal planets) are the most attached to their home culture (usually this is the place where they grew up.. but if their parents are from a different background, they can also be attached to their cultural heritage).

I do feel a connection to the place where I grew up. Interestingly the asteroid named after this city is conjunct my Sun. I'm not a homebody though. I travel a lot.

hat about people who move around a lot

I've lived just about everywhere in Australia and Europe. I think I've moved over 30 times in my life now and it's very likely I'll move to Canada in three years time if everything works out career wise. My Saturn is in Saggy square Jupiter on MC and trine my Sun. I don't have anything in the 9th - but my 9th cusp is Aquarius and the ruler is Uranus in Sag.

No need for home? Because you are always on the climb?
You may like monarchies,Leo/Cappy influence, posh and structure,or find your self best functioning where are there clearly defined social circles and position in given country's set of cultural values.

I have nothing in the 4th House or 8th House. My moon is in the 3rd House. What else can I look at?

OK. Thank you very much.

Ruler of my empty 4th House in Gemini is Mercury, which is in 11th House in Capricorn.

Ruler of my empty 8th House in Libra is Venus, which is in 12th House in Aquarius.

Moon is in Gemini in 3rd House, but 3rd House is predominantly Taurus, with ruler also in Venus, which is in 12th House in Aquarius.

Now, this is the fun part.

I have no idea what all of this means

Ruler of the Fourth House in the Eleventh House

Your home base may be subject to a lot of changing circumstances beyond your control or it might just be that your home is unusual in some way. Your upbringing may have contributed to a desire for radical social change or perhaps your security needs are fulfilled through belonging to clubs and organizations or otherwise interacting with people in a common cause.

Ruler of the Eighth House in the Twelfth House

If you have psychic abilities they will probably manifest on a more intuitive level. You have the ability to research psychological matters and you may have very strong feelings about wanting to help other people.

Ruler of the Third House in the Twelfth House

You keep many of your thoughts to yourself and you are quite capable of keeping a secret, which is something other people can appreciate. It's natural for you to understand more abstract spiritual concepts that go beyond traditional orthodox boundaries.
You often speak from the subconscious mind without even realizing it and past life memories may filter through into your conscious mind. You can develop your intuition to a high degree. There could have been unclear circumstances surrounding a brother/sister or a near relative. Or, you may simply have a strong past life connection with them.

HUH? WTF

I know my ancestral history and origins. Yes. Do I know my ancesters personally? Not really. What are the implications?

Yes. I know my ancestral traditions! My maternal grandpa had four wives and eight mistresses. Perfectly legal, legitimate and socially accepted too. In fact, it was a social status symbol that received much admiration. Shall I follow suit

oh ur so good at dis! that certainly sounds possible. i stay home when i'm in a rut. staying home is probably not good for my chart in general coz i get so stuck being half fixxy.

yeah i do function well in the clearly defined circles but only because i like moving up and down with them. alot of things are definitely wrong with those types of caste systems but i haven't lived anywhere else for long where it wasn't like that.

^i tink dats my t-square to leo moon speaking lol. gandhi has h10 leo moon apex of t-square too but i think the other point of his was mars in scorpio.

H10 positions are bit de-humanising,natives are often endowed with strong ambition and talent to back it up,so sometimes they are too high- and Moon in H10 can be hard if your sanctuary (H4/Moon symbol) is out of your reach. H10 planet shields native.
