ive been lurking a lot on these boards, using google to fid old topics on good compatibility aspects in synastry

but, it seems that im always reading something differently

as in, there is no consensus?

is there a place where i can find true tested synastry aspects that stand out in long-term and not miserable couples?

when i say consensus
is that sometimes you read good things about venus and mars conjunctions, but others think that this is a very sexual aspect

then, some defend the sun and moon aspect
but, this does not always work either

and then, there is psyche and eros, but some dont care about asteroids at all...

Mars/Venus - good but sexual isn't everybody's cup of tea,but they may like the feeling Mars incite in them - desirable and feminine;
Moon/Sun - v.good,it may not work for you, still GOOD aspect.
Asteroids need more research.

Here's what I have read: there is a listing of the different aspects of compatibility. All in All its up to the individuals involved to decide whether they are compatible there is some truth to it all but we all just have to carve our own destiny out. http://cafeastrology.com/synastry.html

I think it's because synastry is so complex. As a general rule, I like to study natals first - for example a sun-moon conjunction might not work so well for an individual whose moon is stressed in the natal.
There are several articles on the subject that I really like, the first one that pops into my head is this one: http://astrologyforthesoul.com/vemamereln.html

I think the thing is that everyone focuses on synastry research, but there are sooo many possible ways to have nice synastry, and not everyone will get married or even find that person that they have amazing synastry with. In fact, most people won't. So, therefore most people dont have ideal synastries but rather a mixture of good and bad hopefully mostly good, and there are many many ways of making a mostly good synastry. There are many nice aspects and combinations of aspects out there.

The thing is not much research has been put into composites, which is where I believe, the real truth and strength in a relationship lies. And to make it even better, patterns for for healthy relationships are definitely shown in composites and I have found that to be the case over and over.

Look at my thread and tell me the patterns you see: http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum11/HTML/002840.html

thanks everyone...

in terms of the moon-moon...and other placements

what if there are no aspects between the sun and the moon, moon and moon and so on, but, the planets are ruled by the same element?

does astrology have space for planet contacts
virgo and gemini (mercury ruled)
sag and pisces (jupiter influence)

i mean, ive seen couples with this ruling planet connections (but no aspects) and, it sems that the elemental ruling does create a click.

as to venus and mars
i find this complicated because my chart has a lot of square and oppositions
so even if i met someone with planets in scorpio, (which id like) there would be too much friction

i wonder if people with complex charts like mine always end up having difficulty synastry

i have sun in scorpio
moon in taurus
venus in scorpio
mars in aqua
rising in taurus...
pluto in scorpio

imagine...

id love to meet a scorpio mars but, it seems there would be friction because of my opposites and squares

haha synastry gets really complicated at least to me, because it seems i find a person of a compatible sun sign and the synastry is crappy,i always have squares with other air signs for some reason, but theres chemistry there, and then i have had great synastry with several cancer girls, but theres no chemistry and we have nothing in common, even the best synastry couldnt make it better. alot of people say the aspects are all that matter in synastry,i think its still good to have compatible suns or moons to help the synastry out.

how did this aspect feel?

i think my eros conjuncts a man's psyche
and his psyche also conjuncts my mars

so for us, it is the other way around

then, his eros is conjunct my uranus...i do not know what this means

sun sextile sun..check!
sun trine moon..check!
moon sextile sun..check!
moon trine moon...check!

but, something is still missing..

i mean, maybe it is relative
but, i think all of these trines and sextiles are not doing the trick...
or maybe, it feels great initially,
and then, it just becomes boring

i mean, for example, my mom and i
she is libra moon and im taurus moon (venus ruled)
sometimes, emotionally...we clash..
but, at the same time, we get each other better than most
