Helping out a friend.
It's a male with these placements, (TOB unknown)...

Sun conjunct Venus in Gemini (gasp!)
Moon in Taurus
Mercury in Cancer
Mars conjunct Jupiter & Saturn in Virgo
Uranus in Scorpio
Neptune in Sag
Pluto in Libra.

He's a very friendly guy (Gemini) and always very nice to her but she would like to know, would he make it known, obvious, if he was interested in her? Or would he be too shy?

its really hard to tell without the exact time of birth,because the ascendant and house placements can alter things signifigantly, for instance: im aqua sun,ascendant and venus,with venus conjunct ascendant and gemini mars,judging by these placements alone you would think im very extroverted and friendly,but my sun is conjunct saturn in the twelfth house,and i can have low self confidence and be painfully shy,especially when it comes to approaching a girl i am attracted to, but guessing by the info you have, with all the gemini in his chart i would say he would be extroverted in flirty,i hope this helps

Since he has a mercury in cancer he might not diverge anything unless asked directly. Mercury in Cancer alone seems like the type of guy to use music or lovely writing to express how he feels in a indirect way left up to interpretation.

With Moon in Taurus, & Mars in Virgo I think he would much prefer if she made the moves.

He might not pursue that strongly with a mars in virgo, BUT he has a venus in gem and when they like someone they flirt SOO much. So it's usually obvious if they like you (I know venus in gem flirt alot, but they would be even more... uh playful and chatty? They would tell stories and just want to talk alot.

She's a bit reluctant because if he rejects her it could be awkward. They're neighbours! Lol.

venus in gemini is THE most flirtatious sign you can have it BUT without TOB and Asc you're stuffed as it's the ASC that will attract, the chemistry, lust and attraction factor..

With a Merc in Cancer don't expect him to express himself straight-forwardly.
I agree with the above; look for signs of flirting (Venus in Gem), lengthy friendly chats (Venus in Gem), and round-about ways to express his personal interest (Merc in Cancer).
