Once you find out someone's Moon sign, do you find they behave more like their Moon sign than their Sun sign?LIKE PERSONALLY...I try to guess something, and I usually guess a person's Moon sign! Or when I find out what someone's Moon sign, I notice they are more like their Moon sign. I dunno...am I just crazy? Sensitive to the Moon more than other people are sensitive to it? I recently found out an Aquarius friend of mine has a Sagittarius Moon...and less and less does she seem like an Aquarius to me (though I did correctly guess she was an Aquarius before finding out her b-day). It depends on your synastry with this person. For some reason her Moon might have "touched" you first and hence it popped up before her Sun. We relate to people in various ways depending on where our charts "touch". But in general, the Sun is what shines through first of all. And the Ascendant too. I believe the two go together anyway. Honestly, I usually end up guessing the person's moon sign as well. People are emotional creatures and they tend to relate to each other from that arena, so it makes sense to me why it is easier to spot their moon. However, I do have a friend who was really really good at spotting sun sign over moon. I'm wondering if it has something to do with what planet is most prominent in the observer's chart... When your first meet someone, you meet their ASC.. Then you get to know/see their Sun..

Agree with this. This is generally what I see with most. That being said, what appears "first" will depend on what is in the persons chart, and what's going on with it.

I doubt whether guessing sun or moon would work as what you are 'looking at' is ASCENDANT sign, their physical body... Basic astrology
Now basically your sun sign is your 'core beliefs, values, ego' and Asc is your physical body, mode of expression and mask and persona that we all wear and hide behind, but definitely not what's going on underneath. What's going on underneath is your Sun sign. Moon sign, house placements and aspects describe your emotional and intuitive responses, also describes your view of your mother, as saturn describes your father by sign and house position.
So, think of a glass milk bottle the bottle is your Asc and your sun the milk, but the milk still has to 'come out' through the glass neck of the milk bottle.... Now aspects within a natal chart represent 'facets' of our personality, because we are all multifaceted beings. What these do is 'break down and compartmentalise' these facets into smaller bite size chunks. This does take quite a lot of self analysis and objectivity to 'see yourself' and why you do certain things and behave in certain ways. Actually it can be quite good therapy... Remember back to your school days an opposition is 180', square 90', trine 120', and sextile 60' Now challenged aspects are conj (depending on the planets, cos some like each other and some really don't) squares and oppositions. Easy aspects are conj (if the planets get along) eg: Jupiter conj Moon, sextile and trine. Quincunx is inbetween (depending on the planets) causes health strains and unresolved or hard to balance planets/energies. i'm an aqua sun and ascendant and a taurus moon and several people have guessed me as a taurus. and at times i guess the moon sign of a person,usually women. IP: Logged |

Some people's sun and moon signs mix well and don't notice it much. But I've always noticed the Moon sign over ruling the Sun if there is a conflict between the signs.
You may be guessing people's moon signs because you can see deep into people?
Don't under estimate the moon, its a strong part of you. I think you've got to see a person very well to be guessing their moon sign over their sun. Usually people in close relationships see the moon in people over others.IP: Logged |
