What part of a chart determines someone who doesn't get proper sleep?
I'm extremely restless. I never took naps and hardly slept as a child which left me w/ sleep paralysis. (For those who don't know it's when you wake up and whole body is paralyzed. The only thing your able to function is your sight, but you can't talk.)
I have many intense placements in my chart, but I'm curious what the main focus is. Physical (Mars), Mental (Mercury), or Emotional (Moon)?.

ive had trouble falling asleep and feeling restless at night as far back as i can remember. especially in childhood when i had to go to sleep and get up at assigned hours.

and if there's a full moon, or all these solar flares like we've been having this week, forget about it. im like a freaking charged up electrical socket at night trying to get to sleep.

I'm a serious night owl and I have trouble sleeping. I don't get enough rest when I'm asleep. I also have trouble waking up and staying awake during the day. 12th house stellium here! I often times have trouble distinguishing between dreams and reality. My dreams seem so real and sometimes my daily life seems so insignificant. I remember even as a kid (6 or 7years old) I would stay awake at night looking at the stars out the window. I've suffered from nightmares too.
I have Sun, Merc, Venus, Jupiter, in the 12th.

I have bad sleep apnea and I stop breathing while asleep. Sometimes I snore badly too. Add to that I'm a night owl. I don't sleep till midnight and I wake up at 5:15 am. I sleep less than three hours a night. Very tired most of the time but I force myself to keep going.

No 12 house planets here and only a Moon-Mercury sextile.

I sleepwalked and sleeptalked when I was a kid and I still talk in my sleep. I answer questions in my sleep and actually have my eyes open so people aren't really sure if I'm asleep or not. If I'm asked the question "are you asleep?" I will always answer "no" lol...

A few years ago I had problems with Night Terror Disorder, a sleep disorder which is common for kids but not adults usually. I would describe it as a nightmare that feels real. The thing is you usually don't have a dream behind it - I would just wake up suddenly with vivid images that were terrifying. And the images weren't in my head either, they were in the bedroom and they wouldn't fade quickly as a normal dream - I could sit straight up in my bed and feel wide awake while watching spiders crawling around on the bed. Or even worse - seeing people standing right beside the bed watching me. Very discomforting... Many times I've woken up screaming and I would start crying in chock. Took me a while to fall asleep again... These terrors faded a bit after I found out about this disorder (before I knew what it was I just thought I was crazy or really seeing things..) and it actually stopped completely later on.. hm well lets say I think the terrors started because I was unhappy but ignored it. When I made changes for the better in my life the terrors disappeared. And this would not be the first time I have physical reactions on emotional issues.

Night terrors occurs in the same time period/cycle of the sleep as sleepwalking (which is a dream-less stage), so you are not dreaming at all. Interesting phenomenon but I'm glad it has disappeared and I hope it never comes back.
