I think I may be confusing myself here but I remember Lotis White who said she'd studied the vertex extensively, said positively "YES" to trines and sextiles.

Is it then just a matter of the degree of strength of the trine/sextile compared to the aspects you consider or is this another difference between how astrologers view this topic?

Also, (slightly off the topic of this thread) would you consider the composite vertex conjunct the composite Desc. (orb of 5) as having any effect? Is it out of orb (since you consider a max. of 4) and therefore would have no effect?

My apologies Ami Anne, for asking this ques. on this thread, but I've been trying to find the answer to this last question for a while now, and have been unsuccessful. All I can find is that it gives a fated feeling.

For example with my boyfriend I have My Vertex opp his Sun (exactly 1 degree) and his Vertex opp my Moon but it's kinda wide for it to be counted (4 degrees). Still I think it helped a little. And that description for a Sun/Vertex really fits me.

Now for another, my Vertex opp his Venus (0*46 degrees). Did he bring me love? Yes he did, but I didn't want it. So nothing came out of it.

Another one, I had my Vertex opp his Pluto (0*20'). I was completely drawn to him. The dude, though? Cool as a cucumber.
