I don't know if I worded this right. but
did anyone know someone with this kind of placement? I'm really curious about their behavior in certain and how they were affected.

For example: while I don't have this, I grew up with a Mercury R in Pisces. And the Pisces has me confused. I mean, he always seemed to be one step ahead of everyone else and I kinda felt like I had to think a little at what he said before I understood. And I don't know if he would make that great of a case study since he also has Sun/Venus in Detriment with Mars/Jupiter in Fall. Plus I may be biased since he's my father.

I looked at charts of friends and exes but while they do have retrograde planets, neither of those are in their detriment/fall signs.

Interesting about Mercury Retro in Pisces. He would think differently for sure.I have Merc Retro in Gemini.I have come to love Merc Retro as it forces you to go very deeply into things. Retro has glitches in that I cannot copy mirror images and other weird kinds of things but the depth of the Retro planet can be very good. I have some info on Retro planets. I have Merc, Saturn Chiron and Neptune.I do not like Saturn and Chiron but do like Neptune and Merc

I don't understand the Pisces merc well enough to comment beyond these general comments.

Interesting topic...

I have a friend who has a Pisces Mercury Rx. It opposes my Virgo Mercury almost to the degree (27' Pisces Merc Rx to 28' Virgo Merc).

When he and I first met each other, we ended up disliking each other for about a year based on something that he had said to me (about me) when I first met him (it was an assumption he made about who I was). I don't think he ever really believed what he said, but it was definitely communication issues that started our friendship. Eventually we hung out with people in the same circles enough that we resolved it.

Now, ironically, we are incredibly close. However, it has taken some adjustment on my part to interpret some of his communication. He often likes to use metaphors instead of speaking directly to the situation at hand. I've gotten pretty good at interpreting his stories/metaphors and I can sometimes interpret his communications to other people who don't always understand him.

Now, I too, have a planet retro in fall (I think it is fall and not detriment). I have my Venus Rx in Virgo. It's not a fun placement. It's like watching the rest of the world go by while remaining in the same place. There are plenty of people who will *tell* you what it's like, but if they don't have the placement, it's not really valid unless they know someone closely who has it. I say this because most people in astrology say (and act like) it is the own person's fault that they have Venus Rx in fall in the chart (YOU HAVE BAD LOVE KARMA FROM PAST LIVES!!! That's why you have Venus Rx in Virgo. ). That's all they really give you. It's not helpful and I think that's BS.

I am very loving and caring to those around me and I always have been. In fact, my true drive in life is to spread positivity and truth. The great irony is I think I'm not always good at portraying that. I also have Neptune Rx in Sagittarius trining my Venus Rx in Virgo (they're near the cusps) and so often I think I do better with spiritual love than I do romantic love. So yes... It is like watching the rest of the world understand something so well that you just DON'T. I have to internalize it all for a long time to *get it* so to speak. Once I do get it, I am very good about bringing the principles into my life and using them... But until then.

I think it probably helps a little bit to have Mercury in its Domicile, right? Did you meet anyone with other placements (Venus R in Aries Mars R in Cancer etc.). I'm curious how they deal with it and if there are aspects that can help.

Wow thanks for posting this. All of my outer planets are in Retrograde; Uranus in Capricorn in the 8th house, Neptune in Capricorn in the end of the 8th House, Saturn in Capricorn in 9th house, and Pluto in Scorpio in the 6th house. I wonder is this a generational thing because these are slow moving planets.

Detriment does weakne how a planet operates, but is still only 1/3 of you should be researching here.

rememer planets are modified by signs, where they express are houses and how they express are *aspects*

I have mercury retro, well aspected. I think in childhood it takes the form of 'people watching' mine went direct age 19. when did yours go direct. Of course, anyone direct mercury *could* go retrograde to. It does tend towards internal analysing things. If someone has upset me, I go quiet (danger sign) it means I'm really thinking something through. I'm not an argumentative person, and it doesn't trip off my tongue like it does with mercury/uranus or mercury/mars, but given time and analysis, I can come back and tear someone to shreds if I deamed it necessary though but really I'm a pussycat..

Yes!! lol So much word. I feel like this sometimes (we have a Mercury square Mercury [1*02] so it's pretty close)

All I've read so far seemed to address either retrograde or detriment, but not both. I haven't come across the "karma interpretation", but it sounds like something that I steer clear of.
I don't know how it is to have this even though I've been observing my father all my life. But then again it's Pisces so I'm a little at loss by default when it comes to them.
Than you for your reply and for sharing your experience. I feel like I've got a glimpse at this.

i forgot to mention i read somewhere jupiter retro will always have a trine to sun within 6 days. i fall within orb of that trine.

1 year older (Sag)/2 tears younger (Pisces) and 6 years younger/older (Cancer).

I think it is. I have those as well.

Thank you, SaggiMC for your input.
