Neptune Retrograde
By amiann | Published: March 21, 2012

Each retrograde planet has the same way of inner working even though the domain of each planet is distinct. The planet Neptune rules the sign of Pisces and the Twelfth House of the Zodiac . Lets think about Neptune for a moment. Neptune rules any state which takes us out of our earth bound existence. This may be as simple as a day dream or a fantasy.Neptune is the planet of spirituality, mysticism, God, creativity, drugs and alcohol.. The perfect life for a strongly Neptunian person would be lived in a musical. Neptune loves sweet things, kind things, warm things. Most especially, Neptune does not like harsh things. Hence, the reference to musicals. How nice to live inside a musical such as Cinderella or My Fair Lady. Neptune is a real part of life, just not all of it.The strongly Neptunian person must find some way to make life meet his ideals. Can a tiger change his stripes or a leopard his spots. Such is the case with the strongly Neptunian soul. He exists in another age, whenever that may have been, IF it has ever been. There exists no sorrow, no ego, no pain, no death. In Neptunes world, it is all about transcending this earthly existence. He does it through love, but transcendent love, not the cheap variety. He does it through the arts. He does it through meditation and spirituality. He does it through service to others. The Neptunian person can do so.There are well worn paths tread by both saints and sinners. He is called to choose–the heights or the depths. For the Neptune Retrograde native, he has a deeper relationship with Neptune. He is not content to attend a simple church service and race out the door it’s end. He wants to KNOW God. He wants to experience God. He is the antithesis of a superficial soul. He is as deep as the oceans which Neptune rules. The Neptune Retrograde native approaches all otherworldly domains as the church goer in the prior example. He must imbibe them. That is the hallmark of any Retro planet. They must dive into the depth of that planet’s nature. They are not content to splash in the shallow water. They were made to find out what makes that planet tick or die in the doing.

You prolly relate as 12th House planets ALL have a "form" of Neptune Retro in that the person is forced to develop their 12th house qualities as the 12th House planets demand it imo.

Definitely fits me as I have neptune retrograde. Nevertheless, I would attribute what is explained above to other aspects and placements in my chart.

well i still like your articles either way coz they get people talking.

Does your Neptune have squares to Saturn or a conjunction. That could "cool" it.

neptune sextile pluto
neptune trine merc
neptune trine jupiter
neptune inconjunct moon

good article tho coz i can see how neptune is supposed to function!

Neptune is rather uncomfortable in Capricorn. Neptune is the planet of dreams and illusion, of the complete dissolution of boundaries. It is thus displeased with its location in the materialistic, no-nonsense sign of Capricorn. The generations born with Neptune in Capricorn are realists; they like to see their dreams turn into reality, to see their subconscious hopes come out into the conscious world.

The negative parts of this placement should be clear. People with this placement are often unable to countenance flights of fancy. Practicality is the ideal for this generation; they want to make their dreams work, gosh darn it, or else what point is there in having them? Duty and honor are big to them; they tend to look back nostalgically at their ancestors, to venerate traditions as 'right' and 'good', which may impede any forward-thinking drives. They tend not to be very mystical or spiritual, which is a stark contrast to previous generations. If they seek spirituality, it is often in the form of traditional worship; while Neptune in Libra and Neptune in Scorpio are known for the types who are 'spiritual, not religious' people with this placement would be more likely to be described as 'religious, not spiritual'. They may shift their patterns of addiction from illegal drugs (marijuana, cocaine, meth, etc.) to legal ones (alcohol, prescription medications, etc.) which are considered more "acceptable".

On the positive side, those with this placement are uniquely empowered to bring their dreams about in the practical setting. While normally Neptune's dreams are kept in the subconscious, when it is placed in Capricorn natives have the skill set to bring those dreams out into the real world. They are pragmatic and levelheaded; though you may not find them out on the streets protesting causes they believe in, they are often the ones running charitable organizations or working within the system to make change. This makes them more successful than most in getting their plans achieved, though this is often at the expense of scope. Resurgences in study of "the classics" are common; they appreciate their forefathers' work. They may also be involved in "mainstreaming" more non-traditional practices, by providing Capricorn organizational skills for organizations that they believe sorely need the help (occasionally to the displeasure of other generations).

Neptune in Capricorn native and Ami's description pertains to me more than your claim. Sure my dreams are more realistic, but more often than not I do get lost in my dreams and wish I could just transcend to another dimension. I'm pretty Spiritual and NOT AT ALL religious. As for my dreams, I do try to be practical and think of ways of making them happen. I don't find the whole living in a musical amusing, I think it'd be quite boring.

Neptune conj Uranus 3H
square Venus
trine Sun
trine Mercury
trine Jupiter
sextile Pluto

Sounds like you have something blocking Neptune, Sand? Is Saturn near it? Maybe you have a fixed star on it but it seems like you have some dispelling aspect on it, imo. I could be wrong, of course!
