Do you agree with his findings?Excerpt from this site: http://www.arlenekramer.net/astrology15.asp As you can see, the most common occurrence (29.2%) is the pattern of two retrograde planets. We feel comfortable when we encounter people who have two retrograde planets because this is the most familiar to us. For no apparent reason, people are drawn to and like and accept those who have two retrograde planets in the natal horoscope. I have found that this phenomenon is true when a person has two retrograde planets by secondary progression as well. The next most common occurrence (26.7%) is the pattern of three retrograde planets. The difference in percentage is very small, but the public acceptance found for those with two retrograde planets is not found for those with three retrograde planets. People with three retrograde planets tend to operate behind the scenes, and according to McCormick, have a "sullen determination to excel" in some speciality. The next most common occurrence (18.7%) is the pattern of one retrograde planet. I have found that the person with only one retrograde planet is independent and does not need the company of other people to be happy. He exhibits some of the qualities of an Aries-type person. He can work alone and achieve alone. The next most common occurrence (12.7%) is the pattern of four retrograde planets. McCormick frequently found this pattern in the horoscopes of writers, who withdraw and seek expression in private. Paul Hewitt incorporates the findings of John McCormick in his Career Counseling techniques (astrological) and in the software which he developed for Career Counselors and Astrologers. He associates four or more retrograde planets with the more solitary professions. The next most common occurrence (7.7%) is the pattern of no retrograde planets. I have found that people with no retrograde planets are unique in their perseverance to attain their goals. McCormick found that "athletes and dancers possess this confirmation in abundance." He also found zero retrograde planets in an unexpectedly high number (36%!) Of the charts of United States Presidents. The road to the Presidency is arduous and perseverance is needed to attain that goal. The next most common occurrence (4.15%) is the pattern of five retrograde planets. If you have five retrograde planets in your horoscope, do not expect people to rush up to you with a hug and a kiss. Only people with two retrograde planets are greeted this way. Most likely, people will greet you by shaking hands. The general public does not love you on sight. Choose a solitary occupation where you need not please other people. The next most common occurrence (0.005%) is the pattern of six retrograde planets. This was the condition on only fifty-one days out of one hundred years. McCormick found only two famous people with six retrograde planets. They were Angela Davis and Muhammad Ali. He avoided coming to any conclusions with this small sample. **I have 3 and I'd say it's true for me... IP: Logged |

Yes. I actually always associated this with my SN being close to the ASC. IP: Logged |

I have 5 -- all of my outer planets. I used to think I might intimidate people, but maybe it's just people fleeing from my retrograde energy.IP: Logged |

I have 3 retrograde planets.. Venus in 1st, Jupiter in 6th, & Chiron in 6/7th. Sounds like a bad combination of retro's! not to mention retro Venus is conj. saturn, and saturn is conj. capricorn ascendant. sounds like a nightmare for self expression lolIP: Logged |

Nope, they were born in late July '86 I think. But nevermind, it wasn't for me anyway! Well, it's not that I don't "need" people, it's just that I'm quite solitary and independent. I like my alone time But I do enjoy being around people sometimes, too.

Chiron doesn't count as a planet, so you have two Venus conjunct Saturn is a tough one, along with Saturn on the ASC, but with some work and self-awareness, should go well! IP: Logged |

Oh that was unexpected!A retrograde planet is a planet that appears to be moving backward instead of moving forward. The Sun and the Moon are never retrograde, though. There is a R or Rx after the symbol of the planet that shows it's in retrograde motion.
Just cast your chart on astro.com and see if there are any. IP: Logged |

I have zero. I am goal-oriented and pretty determined. I will never be president, though. No thanks. I could see myself giving up with all that spotlight, pressure, and criticism. IP: Logged |

3 in natal, 5 in secondary progressed. I don't see there being a strong correlation. The only thing I notice is that I like to partner w.people who have a lot of natal retrogrades. I call them the lone wolves. There's always something different about them, something v.interesting.IP: Logged |

Honestly, all of these could fit me in some way shape or form. I have 5 retro planets: Mercury, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. I would say that it's rare for people to run up to me and want to hug and kiss me, but that does happen with close family and friends. There are some who are near and dear to me and most certainly show me affection. Although I have noticed that when people first meet me, they will have only a very small (but accurate) picture of who I am. Over time they get a better idea of who I am, what I am about, and most will warm up to me quite quickly. ------------------ It's All Elemental ----- My Chart if relevant IP: Logged |

I have 3 (Pluto/Uranus/Neptune)... Thing is that they are all within the personal houses 1&3... and I think that makes a difference...This seems to be true for me: "People with three retrograde planets tend to operate behind the scenes, and according to McCormick, have a "sullen determination to excel" in some specialty." My present partner has 6Rx (Pluto/Saturn/Mars/Uranus/Neptune/Jupiter). They are all in his 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th houses. They don't say anything about Rx but Rx is said to be an inward energy and these are the areas of life he seems to be quite private about- especially romance/sex/dating topics...I really think it also has something to do with the houses the Rx's fall in as well.
