Ok so this is where we can discuss SN.

Again let's stick to SN and not post about NN here. I've already made a thread on NN and synastry, so any concerns and ideas can be posted there.

VENUS NN:
http://www.cafeastrology.com/synastry/venus_northnode_aspects.html

"Venus conjunct other person's South Node (opposite other person's North Node), or square the other person's Nodes

A feeling of instant affection is likely between the two of you. A powerful feeling of needing to be with one another is present, although over time, difficulties and challenges arise that could pull you apart. There may be a time when one or both of you feels that they have "outgrown" the relationship in some way, or that the other person is holding them back--and this is generally felt by the Node person. This combination is sometimes considered an aspect of star-crossed lovers."

http://www.zodiacal.com/articles/geisler/dragon.php

"Saturn to the south node is a practically unbreakable tie in this life. It shows some important lessons will be learned through the relationship and it will bring heavy obligation at some point.

I recall seeing such ties between a man and his wife who had what could only be called an "open" marriage for several years before it eventually settled down with the birth of a child. I would feel sorry for any woman who expected a fling between her and the husband to lead to his divorce. It never would. His south node fell on his wife's Saturn. Her south node fell on his Saturn. I believe they are nearing at least 40 years of marriage."

My parents have an exact SAturn-South Node conjunction as well (no open marriage though) and have been married for 38 years.

"The nodes are particularly responsible for the "knots and ties" of relationships. When two people are looking to the astrologer to see if their romance is going anywhere, the nodes will tell the story.

All enduring relationships that I have ever seen have some kind of nodal ties from one chart to the other. Any relationship without them simply does not last. I have seen this repeatedly in decades of doing charts.

When the nodes of one person lay across the ascendant/descendant line of the other, the node person will stick like glue to the other. Such contacts are lifelong ties and no matter how much time has passed since people have seen each other, the power of the node will reawaken the relationship very readily. In the charts of family members, the closeness is intense."

"When the south node falls on Venus, it shows the Venus person does a lot of giving. The node person has to work hard to match it, or the relationship gets lopsided quickly.

One person's malefics to the other's south node can be a warning to the south node person-Neptune can lie, Mars can injure, Pluto can blab confidential information, Uranus can vanish forever at the blink of an eye.

Sun and moon contacts to the nodes provide instant sympathy/friendship and usually benefit. They insure strong relationship possibilities."

Hmmm very, very interesting. We have a Saturn-South Node conjunction with a 1 degree orb, and an exact conjunction between my Neptune and his South Node, which indicates I guess that I will lie to him at some point, and a node-node sextile. Nonetheless, between the progressions and now this (karmic astrology), it seems I have a lot to wrap my head around. There is nothing light about this Saggy-Aqua relationship, which I guess I already sort of knew.

Learning so much lately, which is a wonderful thing! Astrology is meant to be used as a tool for self-awareness.

His South node is conjunct my Eros as well (by sign, not sure about orbs.) How do you get Eros orbs anyways? Astro.com?

I'm very happy to have encountered this thread! It's a huge relief especially after seeing the progressional chart synastry stuff. My boyfriend and I are currently in the midst of a progressed Venus to natal Mars conjunction (that's been there ever since we met) and I was a little worried that once it wanes outside of two degrees, well... you know the rest.

But the Saturn to South Node conjunction makes me feel a little more secure in the ENDURING synastry of our charts

My husband and I have a double whammy Saturn/South Node conjunction.

We have been married 28 years.

Be careful what you wish for! A bond this strong comes at a price ... Don't want to scare anyone, but it will test you to your limits.

Reading all of this has got me thinking back on my boyfriend and I's first meeting.

Actually, we've discussed it before, it felt fated. He almost didn't make it out that night and it was like an electric attraction, it was simply out of our hands.

Well, you figure out WHERE the asteroid is and then you figure out the orb, the same as with a planet.

I only know that our mutual Eros' are in Capricorn because of the Eros/Psyche table on cafeastrology.com, I've never seen a natal chart that offered it with orbs.

Choose the extended chart option and you can plug in the asteroid numbers.
